How to cancel print jobs in the queue?

HP Pavilion dv7-3174nr Entertainment Notebook.

Hello

In Control Panel, open administrative tools and select abuse.  Scroll down to the print spooler service, right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.  Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

Reboot the laptop and you should find that the documents have been deleted.

  • print jobs in the queue from the computer to the top, but do not print

1400 series all-in-one print jobs in the queue from the computer to the top, but do not print. Scan and copy functions are fine. What is the problem?

I've upgraded to a new computer with windows 7 a month ago. The printer worked fine until last week. I tried the remedy proposed to other Hp users, but the computer will not accept the software provided with the printer, so the printer is always offline. Any other suggestions?

I suggest the following: disconnect the cable USB, then download the full driver recommended from HP here.  Once the download is complete, run the Setup program.  Do not connect the USB cable until the installation program invites you to do.

  • M127fw MFP: How to delete the print jobs in the queue?

When I get an error message when trying to print, I keep trying to print.  This means that I can hit 'print' five times for the same document, because I hit 'print' whenever I think I might finally have something fixed.

The problem is that HP never forget any of these applications - when it finally starts printing - it always prints every single job - meaning that I get multiple copies of jobs for which I got an error message.

Where is the interface to view and delete these jobs? I can't find it on the printer itself.  Is there an interface where I can delete jobs in the queue?

Go to devices and printers and double click on the printer icon. Now click on something like seeing what is printing a list of documents should appear and you can pass by and remove whatever ones you want.

  • HP Officejet 6500 printer - it won't delete a print job in the queue

I tried to stop the print spooler, went to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS to remove the document it but this folder is empty so nothing to delete.  I even downloaded HP Print and Scan doctor, but that doesn't seem to work.  Not to mention how many times I have retsatred the PC and printer... ideas?

Hi @sallyUK and thanks for getting back to me!

I appreciate you providing this info!

First of all, I would recommend restarting the print spooler, the instructions which I've included below:

    Solve printer problems

If this does not resolve the issue, I would recommend the following:

First of all, I would say uninstalling the software of the printer.

Once it is uninstalled, I suggest you put your system in clean boot mode in the configuration of Microsoft.  You can do this by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest to reinstall the HP printer install wizard for Windows.

Please let me know how it goes!

  • I try to print from Windows Photo Gallery. Put the print job in the queue, but does not print.

I try to print a photo directly from the Windows Vista Photo Gallery. The task appears in the print queue and says he is "sent to printer", but prints never. I can print from other programs. I tried to reinstall my printer driver but no problems. My printer is a Dell 946. Any ideas?

    Hi DElizabethB,

1 when was the last time you were able to print using Windows Photo Gallery?
    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party photo editing software installed on the computer is in conflict with the printing process.

I suggest that you check if the Windows Photo Gallery is set as default program for opening images on the computer.

    1. open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.
    2. click on set your default programs.
    3. in the framework of programs, click the Windows Photo Gallery, and then click set this program as default.
    4. click on OK.
    5. check if printing works.

    Method 2

It is possible that some settings for the printer are incorrect, run the fix tool available in the link below and check if it works.

    Solve printer problems
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-printer-problems

    Method 3

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer are in conflict with the printing process.
I suggest you perform the clean boot procedure and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    1. click on Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.
    3. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

    I hope this helps!

  • Printer 8625 - how to cancel a print job on the printer itself?

My last HP printer had a "stop" button that I used to cancel a print job.

(Sometimes while printing, you notice something is wrong and want to stop.)

I know how to do it on the software, but which may take 1-2 minutes to find the icon, open the print dialog box, identify the doc and hit Cancel.  Then 10 pages continued to go out.

On any 8620 series all-in-one, is there a way to stop the print job from the printer itself?

I read all messages, manuals, FAQ, and there is no info about this simple thing.  Very frustrating.

Hello! Welcome to the @kmmo forums

I read your post about how you want to cancel a print job from the printer. I would like to know if you see an "X" on the screen of the printer, the print job is in progress and if so, try pressing the 'X' and which should cancel the job.
