  We want to develop the executables that include optional calls to connected DAQmx hardware.  It will be used for purposes of internal development and allocation of customers. We would like to include optional features such as temperature logging using the thermocouple NI 9211/USB-9162 entry-level camera.  If a customer wants to use our application with record temperature, they can buy the necessary materials of NEITHER and install DAQmx drivers.

  The problem we are trying to solve is how to develop applications that work also for the case when a client does not want to buy the material and does not install the DAQmx drivers.  Ideally, we can include a button 'disable temperature logging' on relevant applications, which prevents all calls to the DAQmx drivers at run time.  For example by including calls in a business controlled by this button structure.

  The problem we seem to have is that executables resulting always require customers to install the DAQmx drivers, even if they don't need them.  It doesn't seem to be a way to make the optional installation, since the source screw included calls to DAQmx drivers, even if they will not be used by the customer.

  Clearly, a solution is to develop two families of screws and the applications, which include DAQmx calls and one who is not.  However, which will result in a horrible collection of code that will require the maintenance and parallel development.

  An alternative is to ask all customers to install DAQmx drivers.  Unfortunately, the size and complexity of downloads that results will be a significant deterrant.  It's already a shame that our distributed software is a 50 MB download, when the size of the code in C++ or VB would be less than a tenth of that.  Another factor of increase of 10 download is prohibitive.

  We must find a solution more clean.  All ideas, plase?

  We are currently with LabVIEW 8.5.1 and DAQmx 8.9.

  You can use the conditional structure conditional symbols and disable disable in the project to do. You can, for example, have a symbol called "HAVEDAQMX" and, say, use a 1 or 0 (or anything you want) to indicate that you want to run the project with or without DAQmx. In VI using the conditional turn off the structure. For HAVEDAQMX = 0 case put in the code to run without DAQmx. For HAVEDAQMX = 1 case put in the DAQmx code. When you build the application, if any will get used, and the other will be thrown.

  I found the solution for this. I created a new page. Then I created an article in the style of link in the parent element, and I put the following properties in the link element:

  Destination URI: OA.jsp?page=/seagate/oracle/apps/seasoa/que/webui/SeaSoaHeaderDetailPG&headerId={@ErrHeaderId}&retainAM=Y&addBreadCrumb=Y&backPage=S

  Target framework: _blank

  This opens the new child window without closing the parent window.

  Sometimes I will edit a photo and later decide I want to create a virtual copy and take a different approach. The problem I'm having is that when I do, the virtual copy inherits all the adjustments that I brought to the previous copy and I can't compare my new adjustments against the original photo, not adjusted.

  I know I can remove the adjustments on the virtual copy by pressing "Reset" in the develop module, but when I then make some adjustments and do a side-by-side comparison, it compares the adjusted version that the virtual copy has been done since.

  I hope this makes sense. Does anyone have a solution?

  I try to do an interactive floor plan.  I'm sure I did it wrong, I'm new to Flash.  So far, I have pointed out the rooms I want to do the 'hot spots', turned them into buttons. Then I selected all the buttons and turns it into a clip called "mcbtns".  I then turned into a clip once again, named "mcbtninside"; It is where I have all my buttons that have instance names "btn1" House through "btn11.

  The images which corrospond with floor plan rooms are housed in a clip named 'mcPhotos '.  On the timeline, photos are up to 10 images at a time, and time of Action Script above them line has names "img1" through "img11" frame, which corrospond with photos every 10 images.  Image 1 of the line AS has the code stop();

  Now, let's go back to scene 1...

  Setting of scene 1: 1 on the line of Action Script, I have the following script:

  Take all of the interactive code off the movieclip mcbtns and even get rid of that clip if it is used for any other purpose than to collect all the rooms.  Assign the code to make pictures appear / disappear in all rooms... (which is shown below assumes that mcbtns went and the rooms are on the same timeline as the mc of photos)

  If you keep the mcbtns movieclip, button your code would have to use a _parent reference to target the mcPhotos... _parent, mcPhotos.visible is etc... in fact, I don't know where things are located so I hope you can understand the correct targeting in this aspect.

  Based on my notes there is no such API. Other applications were similar to this one and the solution suggested in this case is to programmatically create an OVF (describing the configuration of the VM to instantiate) and import it into the vDC. The end result is the same (i.e. an empty VM configured by entries) the difference is how it gets instantiate (created from zero Vs described in the OVF and imported).
