How to disconnect from the PC network?

Hello

I have a Linux server with Samba file sharing. This way people can connect to the server of their windows PC and see everything they represent allows them to see.

Thinking now, we have also a public PC witch different people connect to the samba server.

The problem with the latter is that different people need to connect with different accounts to see what they are allowed to see. However, windows stores the credentials and connects automatically without the opportunity to sign in with a different account.

I was wondering if it is possible in windows 7 (and if anyone knows, in windows XP too) how to sign out of this samba server? I'm sure that windows stores logins somewhere, so remove this information would be enough to let the popup windows for the new connection, just information?

Thank you very much!

Jeffrey

'Remember my credentials' is selected by default. The fastest way to stop this is to run NET USE / PERSISTENT: NO to a command prompt. I have this in a batch file to logon (with off @Echo for the first line) that runs whenever a client connects to the network. If an action requires a name of user and password, the customer enters this information in the 'black' box (command window).

  • PC running XP - how to file from the domain network

    Hello

I have a PC that cannot be upgraded to Windows 7 and must remain under XP. However since XP is out-of-support I don't want him make them vulnerable to other PCs on the domain network. How to get the PC from the domain network? Is there a way to do this to make sure that it is not reached the domain network?

    Thank you!

Be joined or not joined to the domain will do all the other machines on the network more or less safe.  Join domain is not separated in this way: the XP machine will always be on the network even if it is not a member of the domain.

But if you still want to take this action, you can do it from the System Properties dialog box by choosing a workgroup instead of a domain.  You can also open Group Policy Manager and refuse to join a domain, but given that only an administrator can do anyway, which is probably not necessary.

  • How to disconnect from the Mail application built into Windows 8 Pro

    Hey jayRads,

There is no concept sign in email and applications on the Preview version of consumer Messaging. If applications use the credentials you entered in your Windows profile, you will need to disconnect your account under settings of the PC users.

    -Isabelle '.
and we know that this is not a real answer to the question.

Since I only have a Local account signed in Windows 8... and when I click on the mail and forced me to Sign In (add account MS)... There should be a disconnect somewhere after I entered my hotmail account. Logically faulty if there is really nowhere to disconnect my hotmail. Even used Credential Manager/ne shows not my signed in accounts.

NOTE: All I can do is to remove all accounts from the e-mail settings, but it affects all applications (Messaging, people, etc.) which usually isn't my idea of disconnection from Mail only. :(

I want to just sign out since the Mail application (will also apply to applications that require a signature in) is possible.

Please enlighten me in this situation.

    Thank you

    Hi Ferdie Miranda,

Thank you for choosing windows 8 and we join on our community.

I understand from the description of the problems, you want to know the way to disconnect from the Mail application in Windows 8.

Windows 8 Mail app has been designed so that it will keep you in connected mode all the time so that you will be able to check your e-mail without connecting to the Web-based e-mail.

The steps in the thread you mentioned are quite correct.

If you want to disconnect, please delete your account.

  • How to disconnect from the computer of friends?

Recently, I asked a friend to check my computer it sign me up to her computer, so she could watch her home. I like to disconnect, I am concerned about privacy. (1) how can I disconnect?   (2) how can I check to see if someone else is connected to my computer? Thank you

you have not specified which version of windows you are using. but generally

    1. right click on my computer

    2. click on properties

    3. click on distance parameters

    4. Click to deselect Remote Assistance if it is enabled

    5. under Remote Desktop, click on do not all connections to this computer remotely

This applies to built-in Windows functions. If a third-party program like Logmein
etc has been installed, then you will need to uninstall that.

Restart your computer, once you make the above, anyone who has BEEN connected will be
    loss of access.

  • How can I disconnect from the internet but to maintain my connection to the local network in Windows 7?

I need to disconnect internet to my PC Windows 7 while maintaining my LAN network. Can anyone help?

    Hello

If you want to disconnect Internet on the Windows 7 computer, then you can follow the steps mentioned below. These steps would help you to disconnect from the wired connection, while the connection is still active.

    (a) click Start.

    (b) type network and sharing Center in the start search bar and press ENTER.

    (c) in the left pane, click on change adapter settings

    (d) it would be to open a window with the connection to the wired LAN.

    (e) now, right click on the wired LAN connection icon and select Disable. (Provide the password if necessary).

    (f) it would disconnect the computer from Windows 7 to connect to the local network.

  • SOLUTION for your HP printer disconnect and/or constantly disconnecting from the network

If you are having a problem printing, scanning or fax with any HP printer because of this be disconnected and constantly disconnecting from the network, here again is the fix!

I thought that this all after several failed attempts with HP Support, my Internet access provider and various troubleshooting tasks including reinstall the HP software and more and more.  Well, through self teaching on internet and exhausting search for 6 months, I FINALLY thought to it.  OMG!  I'm a paramedic (not IT) and a little computer but far not an expert.  I have all of you here!  Nobody seems to have the answer, but I'm sure that I'm doing it to 97%.  Whatever it is, if it please answer and let me know that it worked for you!  :-)

It doesn't matter if your printer is installed cable or wireless.  You don't reinstall your software, no recycling power of your printers or your router/Modem.  Your printer is unstable on the network and continues to log out or disconnect from the network it is NOT because the software is glitched, it isn't a firewall problem by saying, is not a router problem, is not a problem with your power cord, because most networks use a 'Beach' and IP addresses for security reasons This kind of "cycles" the IP addresses of the devices to reduce the risk of an attack.  A printer is not a threat, but the 'network' don't own human intelligence, so he does not know this.  Here are my step by step instructions on how to basically your printer address IP (static IP) instead of change back through a cycle so drop your printer on the network or disconnected.

Funny, if you're someone who has had the elements in your print queue, they will not print, and you turn your printer off and on again and suddenly your print... well documents, join my club.  The reason it works is that when you turn on the printer, it starts with the same IP address before cycle.  If you are someone who is sitting there for a while and all of a sudden your printed documents without changing you something... it is because through the cycle of change of IP address, it hits your printers IP address and the network would allow him to print.  Not very funny, I know.  It took me forever to figure out why my printer would print sometimes, but not always.  Since I thought at this point, I can SCAN, PRINT, and use all the features of my HP software installed like HP, Photosmart Essentials Solution Center.

On your printer, go to menu/Setup/network and press OK.  In the network menu, print a "network configuration page" so you can see the IP address and other settings of your printer.

Now, back to the main menu on the screen of your printers.  Or you can go to your web browser and type the IP address using decimal numbers too and this will take you to the web page of your printers.  Choose: setup\network, then press OK.  Look for the IP settings and press OK. Choose "manual" instead of "automatic". Manually enter the IP address it as well as the default gateway that you can see the Network Setup page you printed earlier.  Note: If you manually set the IP Address of the printer, make sure that it is outside the range of your router's DHCP. Otherwise you might encounter a problem with IP addresses on your network duplicate. (If you don't know how to do this, write back and I'll explain).  Don't forget to click "save changes".  Now, restart your computer, and print just what you want.  :-)

A trick I often use with DHCP network printers:
In printers and faxes, right-click on the printer and select "Properties".  Click Add a new port.  Choose standard TCP/IP port configured for the host name of the printer. Read the host name of the network printer configuration sheet.

Using my method means that you always connect to the printer even if its IP address changes (which can happen with the dynamic configuration). This does not jeopardize the security of your network.  It shows just your printer to stay put and stop traveling the highway of IP address.  :-)

The DHCP range is the range of IP addresses that the router distributes automatically as devices to join the network.  The DHCP range is determined by the router and each brand has a range that is set at the factory (which can be changed by you).

Default value for the DHCP of your D-link is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199.  Thus, outside the DHCP range est.2 a.99.200 a.254.

Is a handy cheat sheet attached.

You can change this interval by entering the router settings page - type the router's IP address in a browser, enter the login information and access the DHCP parameter area (varies depending on router, hunting around).

  • When you transfer files to the internet, the router disconnects from the internet, but the network remains in tact.

I have a wireless router Belkin g with 1 Server 2003 cable and 2 xp machines and 1 machine vista wireless. My problem is when you transfer files to the internet, the router disconnects from the internet, but the network remains intact. I cannot remote in all computers, but not internet. Once I have restart the router, everything works fine. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how to fix them.

original title: problems with the router.

I have no solution for you.  It seems more likely to me that it is a hardware problem - but if it was related to traffic, I would expect that the problem on the downloads more downloads.

In addition to DSL reports, you could try to ask some of the forums that specialize in the updated firmware for wireless routers.  This is not to say that you need to install the modified firmware (although there may be good reasons to do so), but people who do usually firmware mods are much how the equipment works and what might be its potential failure modes.

Is one of the best-known sites DD-WRT.com, but there is one list of other here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wireless_router_firmware_projects the firmware on these sites was originally designed to run on Modem Linksys WRT54G, but applies generally to Linux with chips Broadcom - based wireless routers and DD - WRT claims that its firmware takes care of some Belkin routers.  If your router is one of those on what DD - WRT will work, there will probably be someone in the forum there will have something for you.  See the list here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database

  • Satellite A200 Win8 64bits - Atheros AR5006EX disconnects from the network at random

First of all, sorry for my bad English.

Hi, I installed W8 a few weeks ago and I have a problem with the WiFi. The adapter disconnects from the network at random. Not a protocol TCP/IP fail because I don't lose the connection to the internet, I lose the connection to the network for everyone.
Simply disconnected from any wifi network.

I have read that wifi chips Qualcomm have problems with drivers in W8. I tested many pilots and all do not work properly.

    Any help?

The wifi card is: Qualcomm atheros AR5006EX and the laptop is: Toshiba satellite A200-1TP.

Drivers I tested (and didn't work):

    http://drivers.Softpedia.com/get/network-card/Atheros/Atheros-AR5006EX-WLAN-driver-300119-for-Windows-8-x64.shtml

    Thank you!

Do you have these problems with the operating system supported?
I mean A200 is pretty old machine and certainly not supported for Win8, so it can be a problem with all of this, especially with the drivers.

Let's see if someone else has the same machine and have the solution to this.

  • Current file to use when it is disconnected from the network wireless/wired - shared network drive

    Hello

We have a problem where we receive a "file in use" message when you are disconnected from the network. To reproduce the problem, what we do is:

    (1) connect to the wired network wireless disabled with

    (2) create a test document

    (3) to enter text and save on network share

    (4) remove the network cable

    (5) add additional text

    (6) reconnect the network cable

    (7) try to save the file to the network share

At the beginning by clicking the X is the new message you want to save. Click Yes and the message arrives until the next time you hit the Hit of X no. and he loses the last change.

From here we then go up to the network share, open the file and it comes up with "file in use. Open read-only. File is opened by us (Administrator account), and there is NO temporary file in the shared folder.

    Tried so far:

-Run net config server/autodisconnect:-1 for trying to stop it disconnect the share

-Checked pane, pane preview and off 'display the description of the pop-up window for folder and desktop items '.

    -Windows Update

We try to reproduce on wired connection, because it is easier to reproduce that disconnects wireless. Seems to have an impact on several operating systems. Share folder is shared on a Windows 2008 R2 x 64 machine.

Is this a known problem or is there something that we can configure to try to prevent the locking file after logging out? Ideally, we want the decline to go unnoticed and provide uninterrupted service to the user, unless they are trying to save during the fall.

Thanks in advance for comments :)

  • Disconnecting from the network home

Win 7 I have a stand-alone computer (not other computers) with a USB - connected printer and a connection to a modem (without router) via a network (?) (not USB) cable.  I have no other computers or printers.  Win 7 connected me to a network home, maybe because my printer is compatible with wireless (but I have no WiFi - or interest in functionality).  If I disconnect the home network I lose the internet connections or printer?

My apologies but I found your statement at the opening a bit confusing.

Your home network is connected to the modem, a local area network, and is a type of HOME that helps your computer share with a reliable source, connected to your modem/router.

A HOME network is essentially the default setting...

A PUBLIC network limited with any computer that can be attached to your router/modem to share files.

If your printer is connected via a USB cable, disconnect from the network will NOT affect the communications between your computer and the printer and the printer will do what you expect it to do.

However, you will lose Internet you disable the network connection.

How can I change lightroom 5 previews smart on the book of mac pro (mbp) when lightroom master image files 5 are on my external hard drive is disconnected from the mbp? So far when I try to disconnect the external hard drive the mbp, I get the pop following window: "external hard drive A" disc could not be ejected because it uses 'Lightroom '. Exit this application and try out this disc again. When I do that and restart Lightroom 5, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom - screen select catalog appears, but does not list my external hard drive A as a choice.

I've been reviewing Adobe's Lightroom Help | Smart web page Previews Lightroom 5 and still have not been able to understand what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

    HI Thomas,

Thank you very much for your suggestions! They finally gave me the direction I go solve the problems I had. Basically, the Mac Book Pro based Lightroom irdata files still had thumbnails. Once I removed the and redirected Lightroom external hard disk, smart previews of the external drive work when the player is well off the MBP. Much obliged.

I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to backup all the files content and related data of Lightroom that exists on the external hard drive to another external hard drive as a backup? Ideally, it would be great if I could be able to launch security HD since the Mac Book Pro and do the work of Lightroom with the backup image files and intelligent previews correctly. Thanks again. Your help has been invaluable.
