How to do 1 datastore share 3 ssd

Hi experts

I got a system with 3 SSD (400 GB each) I want 1 data store to share all three of them, rather than create 3 separate data storage. I have a controller raid on my server, is - it possible?

Thank you

Nevermind, found. Simply create a data store and add the remaining disks.

    Hello

First a simple question: are you sure that your laptop supports Bluetooth?
AFAIK the Qosmio F20-155 was delivered without the BT module.

In addition, if you are not sure if the phone has BT then you can check the bottom of the unit. It should be placed a label BT if the Bluetooth has been installed.

And Yes, if a particular document was references during the recording of the action then, you would not be able to play because he will try to find the same document on the references of exact location while recording.

In this case, you have to re-create the actions that refer to a particular file of the machine (with the files Dropbox would not help).

I am running El Capitan on a late 2011 13 "MacBook Pro. Recently I replaced the drive with a 500 GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD. I took out the old drive, plugged into the SSD, rebooted into recovery mode and restored from a Time Machine backup. Everything went well spent - the machine is MUCH more reactive.

Now, I would like to turn on FileVault. I go through the guests first few and continue to hit and I get a dialog box that reads:

    Hi all

Well, this process has floored me know how much time lost, he created and how the problem occurred in the first place.

I am wanting to do a clean install of El Capitan on iMac late 2014 retina with El Capitan with a 1 TB drive merger 10.11.6.

Boot from an external hard drive with OS X utility disk 10.11.4, wouldn't let me simple deletion of the reader. He came up with the error message "removing logical volume of the logical volume group cannot delete the storage base logical volume...". »

So I started to investigate this problem and found:

    estorage-logical-volume-from-the-Terminal http://Apple.StackExchange.com/questions/136590/How-can-i-Delete-a-partition-Cor

Who publishes various other forum known as the best solution to the problem. Knowing that I hate to use the terminal, I dove in full anyway. I was reformatting disks on Mac for 20 years without needing terminals?

I got so far as to remove the existing with logical group:

    sudo diskutil cs deleteLVG

and now the HD and SSD drives appear on the desktop as a empty volumes (which is fine, I don't need to save anything).

But now, try to use the:

sudo diskutil mergePartitions HFS+ "Apple_HFS Macintosh HD" (and different combinations of drive locations)

results only in "the data partitions are not of the same disc.

This is what I see with the "diskutil list; ECHO; Cs diskutil list "command in terminal.

I have no idea how recombine the separate HD and SSD drives in one drive of Fusion, with which I can then do a clean installation of El Capitan. Can someone please!

Also, how can quickly and safely erase a disc from Fusion in the future? I need to deploy a new image of master with all our software top one another 10 times, and I want to completely erase the readers for clean installs (with Migration Assistant for about 8 years, moving from a system has resulted in a lot of weird and wacky behaviour on our Macs) and it is time for a clean install for each of them.

Again, I'd be very happy any help on this.

Please read this message before doing anything. If you don't feel confident that you can follow the instructions, ask someone more experienced to help you.

This procedure applies only to an iMac or a Mac mini with a drive installed in the smelter.

You must read these instructions while no web browser is running, so either print them or load them onto another device before you start.

    1. all the data on the internal disks will be deleted, including Boot Camp data, which are not saved by Time Machine. You need at least two complete and independent backups. A backup is not enough to be sure. There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

    2. you will need to start one recovery system other than the one on the internal hard drive (if he has one.) There are several ways to do so.

    a. If you have a backup time of the Machine (not a network backup), or a compatible Mac OS X installation on an external drive, then you should be able to start it by holding down press option key to start ringing. Select the external hard drive in the row of icons that is displayed. I mean by "compatible", an installation running on the machine. A version of Mac OS X that is older than the machine is not compatible.

    b. If you used Recovery Disk Wizard (or can use it now) to prepare a system recovery on a USB flash drive, you can start that by pressing the C button on the ring. No icons will appear. Startup will be much slower than usual.

    c. start the Internet recovery mode by pressing the key combination command-option-R to start ringing. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe. Select a language, if you are prompted.

Note: You need an Ethernet or Wi - Fi connection to Internet to use the features of recovery network. It will not work with modems USB or PPPoE, proxy servers or networks that require a certificate for authentication.

    3. disconnect all other external storage devices.

What happens then depends on what version of recovery that you are running.

☞ If the machine came with OS X 10.10 ("Yosemite"), 10.9 ("Swat") or 10.8 ("Mountain Lion"), and you're in the recovery of the Internet, please take step 4a and skip step 4 b.

☞ otherwise, go to step 4 and go to step 4B.

If you are unsure which version of Mac OS X, the machine came with, search for it on this page.

After taking these steps apply, you must have a reader of empty Fusion named 'Macintosh HD' on which you can perform a 7 step or step 7B.

    4. repair of the Fusion drive (see "Troubleshooting" on the linked page.) Quit disk utility and go to step 7A or 7B step. Skip steps 4, 5 and 6.

    4. in the OS X screen utility, select get online help. Safari will launch. While in recovery, you will have no access to your Favorites, but you won't need them. Load this web page.

    5. triple - click anywhere in the line below to select this option:

    N=Macintosh\ HD; for d in /dev/disk?; do o=`diskutil info $d`; for D in SSD HDD; do eval [[ ! \"\$$D\" ]] && grep -lqw "APPLE $D" <<< "$o" && eval $D=$d; done; [[ "$SSD" && "$HDD" ]] && break; done; diskutil cs create "$N" $SSD $HDD && diskutil cs createLV "$N" jhfs+ "$N" 100%

It is a very long line, and you won't see it on the web page. Be sure to select the entire line, not just the part that you can see.

Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

Quit Safari. You go back to the OS X Utilities screen.

    6. in the menu bar, select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

Launch the Terminal application. Paste in the Terminal window by pressing the command-V key combination. Wait for a new line ending with a number sign (#) to appear. If nothing happens, press the return key.

Quit the Terminal must be returned to the main screen.

    7. If you have a Time Machine backup, connect the device to backup and restore your data. If you have saved to a network like a time Capsule device, it must be connected automatically.

7B. If you do not have a Time Machine backup, or if you can not restore from Time Machine backup that you do not have, install OS x Restore data later in The Migration Wizard.

In the Internet recovery mode, you install the original version of Mac OS X comes with the machine. If you have upgraded the operating system on the App Store, you will need to do it again.

  • Laptop: how to make my laptop for one SSD

    Hey everybody,

I would spend my hard drive of the laptop to an SSD, what are some of the things that I should look for to upgrade successfully, and this may affect my 10 Windows license?

    Thank you

    Bill

For some people, upgrade a laptop to an SSD can be like diving into the deep end of a pool.

An SSD upgrade may involve extensive disassembly of your laptop, depending on the model.

Some models have hard disks that are easier to access than others.

There are the small, but important detail involving accepting the risk of damaging your computer laptop and breach of warranty.

You will need to decide if you want to migrate your operating system to the new SSD or perform a new installation of Windows.

If you have already upgraded the operating system of the Windows 10 laptop, your laptop will have a digital entitlement on license of Windows servers.

It's the new Microsoft license model that makes a continuous activation of the operating system.

As part of the installation where you see a box to put the 25 character license activation key, there is a link below that says, I don't have a key.

That's what you need to click to continue installation.

The type of SSD that will be compatible with your laptop depends on some things.

The first is how your laptop comes to market.

The second is that your laptop is an entry level or a top model with advanced features.

The third is based on these interfaces on the card system of your laptop.

Your laptop may have only SATA ports or it may also have an m2 or a mini PCIe connector.

Older notebooks (before 2009) will have only 2.5 possible SATA SSD products as an SSD upgrade option.

It is also dependent on the interface this SSD on your laptop system board and the type of memory and the controller from that your laptop is compatible.

Which can be determined in several ways.

The easiest way I know is to take the guesswork out of the purchase of upgrade.

Which can be done using the information for one SSD manufacturer whose reputation is based on the provision of accurate information to potential customers.

Check online on the Web from Crucial.com website to see what they offer as guaranteed products compatible SSD for your notebook.

With the newer models which are eventually provided with SSD, the Maintenance and Service of Guide disks for each laptop will usually specify what memory and type of SSD drive is compatible.

The Service Guide which has this information and maintenance lies in the support for your laptop computer portal in the section user guide.

Use the product number of your laptop + support as keywords in a Google or other search engine search for the portal.

Memory Crucial site is a great place to find compatible SSD products for your laptop.

You may be one of the lucky ones who installed the SSD and boots for the installer and everything is going as planned.

Otherwise, it may not be recognized by the installer of Windows or the BIOS.

Often, an SSD should be prepared before use.

Many members frustrated author here threads in the forums after having this experience.

Hold down the Windows key and press the X key.

    Who calls on a menu.

    Choose command-line (Admin).

Type DiskPart and press to enter.

    Who calls the DiskPart utility.

After the SSD has been prepared and installation began, the Windows Installer will change the drive letter to C: on its own.

In the image below, the disks 2 and 3 are Samsung m2 NVMe SSD.

Some laptops 17 inches come with more than one disk.

Select the disk and using the command list is very important. If not, you could erase the content and the partitions of the disk with the clean command wrong.

If the SSD has a GPT partition and a drive letter is assigned, it will be recognized by Windows install.

Once the SSD has been established, you can start at your choice of media for a clean install, cloning of the OS migration or a resumption of the plant initiated by the use of the recovery media, that you created.

Since 2012, computers laptops were shipped with BIOS, UEFI and GPT partitioned the disk rather than the old BIOS and MBR partition style.

This means that you are using Windows install must also be to format GPT UEFI.

There are free utilities available, such as RUFUS, which can be used with ISO created by Media 10 Microsoft Windows creation tool to create an installer of 10 Windows USB UEFI.

For other versions of Windows RUFUS can also be used to create the type of installer of your choice.

  • Re: Portégé R700 - how to install Windows 7 on new SSD?

    Hello!

I want to change my HDD in Toshiba Portege R700 to SSD. How to install Windows 7 on this new SSD? I don't have any Windows installation disc.

Or that it will be possible to move the partition of the old HDD to new SSD (using Acronis, I could move the partition on the new HARD drive)?

I've heard of partition offset and this SSD block should be the same as FAT cluster (the same alignment).

All advice? (I know should I defragment my HARD drive before moving :))

    Hey Buddy,

    > I do not have any Windows installation disc.
Create the Toshiba recovery disc as mentioned in the manual of the user before you exchange the disc, then you have a Setup disk. The Toshiba recovery disc will restore parameters of the box with all the drivers and tools. It can be used on each disc and how many times you want.

After this change the drive and start the Toshiba recovery disc. Follow the instructions on the screen and everything will be installed.

    Check this box!

  • Portege Z30 - how to create the new partition on SSD

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Portege Z30 with a 512 MB SSD. In addition to the C partition, I would D for the work and E for personal stuff.

By default, the laptop came with only C, but the disc already has 4 partitions:
-a healthy active recovery of 1.46 GB partition
    -c a partition
    -a 16 GB Hibernation partition
-a healthy 11.55 GB primary partition called drive HARD recovery when I use MiniTool Partition Wizzard

I managed to get 300 GB of unallocated space, but I can not use this space to create D and E, apparently because the MBR does not support more than 4 partitions.

Question: should I have all these partitions Toshiba? Is there a workaround for D and E? Can I create a USB drive recovery system and get rid of the recovery partition?

    Thank you

Before starting any discussion, I hope you didn t screwed up something. Why?

When you get laptop it has the factory settings and just with the factory settings, you will be able to create a media recovery (DVD or USB depending on the model). I hope this isn't too late now.

Try to create a recovery media as soon as possible please.
Post it please comment how it works. I hope that everything will be OK.

    Hello

I just got my Thinkpad T430, which came with 500 GB Hard drive and 16 GB SSD installed (and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit).

I bought the 16 GB SSD with the understanding that the laptop is boting that Drive (thus making that much faster). But looking at my computer I do not see the SSD as a distinct letter, and the Windows folder as a whole seems to be in the C: drive of 450GB.

There are several ways to answer a question and "you are a fool because you don't know what you bought" isn't the best way.

The OP has, in effect, an SSD. It is in the format mSATA (i.e. on a map instead of the more traditional SSD hard drive change) and is configured to cache data frequently used to speed up operations and boot times.

The 16 GB is perfectly adequate to cache the Windows files required for booting.

Yes, most of the sellers are illiterate product but in this case, the OP got the result he wanted - a device of semiconductor to accelerate operations.
