How to format my USB after making it bootable with Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

I used the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to make my bootable usb key. But now I can't format it. When I open my computer and connect my USB it is shown as a cd. Also when I go into disk management it is shown that two disks hard each of them Go 99,76 and a CD-ROM that has 1123,13 GB RAW. I've tried a few programs for formatting, but they say that it is protected against copying. Is it possible that I can use as a normal USB again?
Thank you very muck for your help.

Hi mifocc,

·         What is the brand and model of the USB?

Check if there is no slide switch on the side that provides protection against Scripture. This spectacle of a lock closed and open on each side.

I suggest you follow these steps.

(1) Insert the USB key into the USB port.

2) click Start, type devmgmt.msc in the search text box and press ENTER.

(3) find hard drives and expand it.

(4) find the USB flash drive you want to format, and then double-click it. He opens the Properties dialog box.

5) click on the policies tab.

(6) the default option optimize for quick removal of the selected options, put it to optimize for performance, and then press OK.

(7) now, open computer. Right click on the USB Flash drive and select format. The Format dialog box will now appear.

(8) in the file system field, select NTFS.

9) Press Start and wait while the process will be completed.

You can also connect the USB on a different computer and try formatting.

The only solution I have tried was downloading the file bootsect from one source other than Microsoft.
Is it seriously the only way to make it work? To download a BOOTSECT FILE from an UNTRUSTED SOURCE? Come on, Microsoft.

If you purchased Windows 7 since the MS Store:

When you create a bootable USB device, I get an error on bootsect
To make the USB bootable, you must run a tool called bootsect.exe. In some cases, this tool must be downloaded from your Microsoft Store account. This can happen if you try to create a USB bootable 64-bit from 32-bit version of Windows. To download bootsect:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft Store account to view your purchase history
    2. Search for your purchase of Windows 7.
    3. Next to Windows 7, there is a drop-down list "additional download options.
    4. In the drop-down menu, select "32-bit ISO."
    5. Right-click on the link and then save the bootsect.exe file to the location where you installed the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (for example C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apps\Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool).
    6. Once the file has been saved, return to the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool to create your bootable USB device.

If you didn't buy Windows 7 since the MS Store:

Follow these instructions to work around the bootsect error:

    a. download and install the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool program, as described on theMicrosoft Store website.

    b. download a working version of 32-bit bootsect.exe . Here is a link to the 32 bit bootsect.exe:

    bootsect7600x86.zip
    From: http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/54443-32-bit-bootsect.html

    c. Once downloaded, copy the BootSect.exe file in the same folder that contains the file ofWindows7-USB-DVD-Download - Tool.exe installed. This file in Windows Vista's default installation directory isC:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Apps\Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool\ (you need to look in XP)

    d. application of the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool as described on theMicrosoft Store website. The end result will give you a boot USB flash drive that contains everything you need to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

I would like to install Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium on one of my old notebooks - I have the license key, but no media. The DVD - ROM drive is not reliable stuff, so I thought that a USB stick installation would be worth a try.

Digital River download site has been up earlier this week, and I downloaded another copy, so Windows 7 Home Premium - 32-bit.  The name of the ISO file differs from previous downloads of this site, but this time, it worked.

The best way to make a usb bootable with Windows XP is to use Almeza Multiset 8.3.0 It is totally automated. It will use either a Windows Xp folder that you created on your disk or an iso image of Windows Xp. You can use the trial version that the software is not free.

On another note, I can't even begin to wonder why you are using Windows Xp (especially reception) on this system.
