  What happens if you try to make a copy of a picture of the printer - still no printed colors? If print colors by making a copy, then the problem is on the side of the computer. If this isn't the case, it's a matter of hardware/firmware/printer accessories.

  My HP Officejet Pro K5400 suddenly started printing in grayscale.  Thought that I needed to change the black cartridge but it does feel not empty then I tried to clean it up.  No difference in print quality.  Put in a new black cartridge - still no change in the print quality.  Help!  I have a windows 7 premium home 64 bit OS on my Samsung laptop that was purchased just earlier this year.

  There are a few different things to try to get the printer printing black again. First run through the cleaning steps in the document below. If this does not work, proceed to make a physical cleaning of the print head stated in the Bob_Headrick post below. If none of those who do not work, you must either replace the printhead, or the printer. To get a replacement printhead, you will need to contact HP. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out.   I just changed the ink on my HP Deskjet 3845 printer cartridges and now it started printing everything in purple. Before changing the cartridge, the colors were very good. I tried the contact on the cleaning cartridges and that did not help. There is no error message. I tried to put the old black cartridge in to test it, and even though it was really faded, it was printing in black. Color ink seems to work very well I printed a test page and the colors are out. I also tried to print that a document without any ink color in and a blank page came out. The problem must be something to do with the black ink cartridge, but I don't know what it is or what to do!

  This cartridge is defective. You have to buy another cartridge installed in the printer. Let me know what you find?

  You could ask the support of Epson for a definitive answer, but I saw a suggestion that this behavior can be caused by a blocked ink purge tube.  See the next page.  And this page for the cleaning solution.

  My HP Officejet 6000 works well for about a year until today, where he began to print light gray instead of black.

  My officejet is attached via USB directly to my PC, I'm under Ubuntu 12.04 with gnome shell. Used to work out of the area to print.   Problem solved. I got my printer to my friend who has a Windows PC and a test print looked fine. I thought it must be a Linux question then. I have connected my printer to my PC Ubuntu again, and for the hell of it, I tried to print a test page and go figure, it worked. Maybe unplug the printer helped solve the problem? BTW, when I meet my problem, the printer was not actually printing gray instead of black by mixing the inktanks color. I discovered that she did not use the black tank at all. I'm glad that everything works again without having to really fix anything. So if anyone else has this problem, try disconnecting the printer, and then try again. That could be the solution. Turn off the PC one on or the printer doesn't help.

  What file format you save the image in? It is important, as indicated by error. If you left it as a PSD, then FM performs a conversion to RGB. A TIFF or EPS file properly remains blank (i.e. on the plate of K). Other formats, such as PNG to grayscale are actually indexed color and solve RGB when FM creates the PDF file in the presence of plates of Spot and where the components are mapped to the CMY plates also.

  Here is a sample generated using SaveAsPDF with the CMYK option with the same 'gray levels' file saved in the format PNG, TIF and EPS in Photoshop (Note how the PNG isn't all there, on the plate K):

  This can be done via the screen touch printers. It is simply not an option. You have two good options.

  (a) remove the color cartridge and print mode single cartridge.

  (b) when printing from your Android, use the HP ePrint app.

  I need few details about the question you posted.

  * What are the name and model of the printer?
  * You receive driver updates for your printer through Windows Update?
  * The printer prints the other applications in color?

  In the meantime, try the following steps.
   
  1. try to print the default pictures in Windows Photo Gallery and check if you get a printing color.
   
  2. try to uninstall the printer driver and reinstall it.

  Also check the setting of the color of the printer. Go to printer settings and make sure that you have selected the option to color.

  To print a picture, follow these steps: -.

  If you have a printer connected to your computer, you can make prints of digital photos. The quality of your photos depends on several factors, including the type of printer paper, ink and the settings of the printer of your choice. You can control many of these settings when you print the picture, but keep in mind that the overall quality and resolution of the digital picture you are printing will affect your final result.
