How to recover Vista on HP Pavilion dv 9000

Hi, I have HP Pavilion dv 9000 preconfigured with Vista. Now, I installed XP on this laptop and want to restore Vista. How can I do the same thing. I don't have a recovery CD, it is on drive E: of my laptop but if I hit F11 for recovery when starting, it does nothing and directly boot the system with XP.

Please suggest. See you soon

If you do not have the recovery disks, you will need to contact HP directly. Once you have the recovery disks, you will be able to restore the computer to Windows Vista. The number is the 1-800-HP-INVENT, have your model number and serial number handy when calling.

  • How to recover Vista on Satellite L500

    Hello guys,.

I bought a Satellite L500 with Windows Vista... unfortunately I am not a fan of Vista, so I installed the good old WXP.
However, I forgot to burn a copy of the version of vista.

Then I realized that there is no available xp driver by Satellite. So I installed vista drivers. Almost everything has worked, except the graphics drivers.
My book, of course, now uses default windows graphics drivers, but now everything is distorted.
Now my question: is there a way to recover Vista? Of course, I have a product key that I have acquired with the purchase of the laptop.
I also have a Vista CD from my other computer, but it does not accept the product key for the laptop.

    Thanks for your help!

PS: Sorry for the bad English ;)

Product key will not help you. This key belongs to the recovery image, that you got with your laptop.
In my opinion, you have two options:
    # original order Toshiba DVD recovery under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx or
    # install Vista using original Microsoft DVD facilities. All necessary drivers, tools and public services should be available on the Toshiba support page.

  • Satellite A300 - how to recover Vista after installing XP?

    Hello

I'm sorry but these problem I have copy of partition (d: winre) and intended (e hddrecovery) now I need to know how I can recover?

The original operating system with the laptop is Vista and I'm trying to install XP so that I change the size of the partition. Please help me to know how the original recovery system?
Notes: No there are no no action when I press f12 or f8 in XP but in the last time. I found repair Windows and new Vista recovery

    Thank you

    Hello

After installing another OS, you can retrieve only Vista if you start from the Toshiba Recovery disk and install the content. There is no disk HARD recovery option more, it means that the HARD drive recovery partition will not help you.
In addition the Windows RE partition has nothing to do with Toshiba, it s a Vista feature.

Then boot from the Toshiba recovery disc and will respond to factory settings! ;)

    > What steps should I follow?
As far as I know on the second partition of HARD drive folder HDDRecovery is saved recovery image. When you start the installation of (F8 at startup) HARD disk recovery partition recovery image D will be installed on the C partition. In this case the D partition is not deleted. C just partition will be formatted before installation of recovery image begins.
Just use F8 option and go fix my computer. Just follow the on-screen menu and choose the software factory default recovery option.
    > 2 If the disc is defective, how do I re - install supplied OS (vista) for a new HARD drive?
After reading this question, I see you didn't read the document s user manuals. You need to create a recovery media (DVD recovery) and this recovery DVD you can use for recovery image installation if there is a problem with the HARD drive or you want to install original recovery image on the new HARD drive.
3 > unrelated meanings, can I upgrade to Windows 7 (clean install) 32 or 64 bit version?
Of course you can do it. Please visit the download page of Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check if all the drivers, tools and utilities are available here. Of course before doing this, create recovery DVDs.

    Hello

    you have to reformat

you have no choice in the matter, if you wish to continue using your computer

    Here are the different ways to reinstall vista;

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    HP is usually F11

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact HP and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

If the original operating system is changed to a non - Vista OS, the Recovery Manager cannot be launched either office or by pressing f11 at startup. You can use the recovery disk to restore the computer to the original state of Vista. If you are using a non - Vista OS, you can use a third-party partition management program to recover hard disk space.

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

You can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • How to restore Vista on old Satellite P300?

    Sorry it's a long.

I bought a new P70 to replace my old P300 that came with Vista and I now want to give it a new facility for the children to use. The problem is that I had partitioned the disk and had tested the betta and the version RC1 of Windows 7 before its release and he also had XP, now I can't get on the recovery drive holding the 0 key and did not have the repair option on the splash screen advanced when using the F12 key. I know that the Recovery partition is still there because I saw it when using a disk partitioning tool before you make changes and I'm deleting it.

After what I read I think that drive hidden (EISA Configuration) that holds the BCD, stored options for the 0 key and the menu key F12. I made backup discs when I arrived at the origin of the laptop and checked well records, but when I went to use it, they have been declared as corrupt so the only other option I had was the images I made with another program but cannot boot from the disc I made and I guess it's because of SATA drivers Win 7 could not be started or until what I injected drivers, just do not remember how I got them in the disk imaging.

So, if anyone knows where the option for the 0 key is stored, and I assume it's in the BCD himself, someone know how to recover it or re - write? The other option I can think is how the recovery partition is enabled and try to do otherwise. My oldest son has a more recent P300, is it possible to copy the BCD and its player hidden files to start mine? The other thing is when you restore from the recovery partition you need a Windows product key or is already stored on the recovery partition because I can never remember having seen one and I'm not one for my new P70.

    Any ideas?

After these modifications and tests with your P300, you will not be able to use the HARD drive recovery facility more. This works if the laptop has only factory settings.

Now, there's only one way to install the original use of Vista recovery disks. I m afraid you didn't create these disks, right?

Anyway, Satellite P300 is well known to me and my brother has the same machine. We updated with new SSD and installed Win7 on it. It works like a rocket. So my advice to you is to install Win7 on this machine. All the necessary drivers, the tools and the utilities that you can find on the download page of Toshiba - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

If you need help with it let me know.
One more thing: the product key at the bottom belongs to the original version of Vista and it cannot be used for activation Win7.

  • How to: recover disk space by removing the updates of windows installation files

Original title : Software updates to XP Pro do take the disk space that can be reclaimed by removing downloaded files?

I want to recover disk space which can have useless files.  Once an update is installed, the downloaded file can be deleted and if so, where they are on my drive?

Please note this is only for Windows XP and is not on Vista or Windows 7

Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.

These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/xxxxxx
NB: XXXXXX = the actual number, not to mention the "Q" or "Ko."

Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.
