How to share folders in icloud drive like dropbox?

Hi, I wanted to share a folder with other people with Apple ID. However, I have not found any option in icloud drive. Is it possible to use icloud drive like dropbox and share folders with others?

Unfortunately, this is not possible, if you have any suggestions that you think might improve iCloud you can send Apple your your comments here.

No, at the present time, iCloud is configured for use by a single account to share data between devices of the owner of this account.  Your best bet for what you are looking for would be to use a third party application like Dropbox or Google Drive.

How can I use my browser (Chrome) to add files to iCloud by car?

When I go to https://www.icloud.com/#iclouddrive , it tells me to download the software. I don't want to download any software iCloud or sync with my computer, I just want to download my files to iCloud by car so I can make room on my computer.

    Thank you!

I can't find any documentation from Apple that says clearly, but I suspect that there is a requirement first activate iCloud drive from an Apple device or iCloud for Windows. Once this has been done, you should be able to download directly using the link you posted (and I'm able to do).

Note that iCloud is mainly oriented towards the synchronization of data between devices rather than having a storage cloud orientation only. There are other services that can be better adapted to your needs.

  • How to include folders to D: drive, specifically in Documents public, not only in the document library?

Windows 7 Pro 64 - bit SP1: how to include records of the D: drive in public Documents so that they become automatically visible to each user who opens his library of Documents? At present, I can only include these folders in the document library, invisible to other users. I don't want to load large files physically in the C: drive, where public Documents.

You can do this easily because public Documents is a folder, not a library.

You can place junction points in public Documents that point to folders on the disk D:\.

To do this open a command prompt by typing cmd in the box to start the search, made a right click the program cmd that appears in the search results and click 'run as administrator '. Type the following command and press ENTER:

    MKLINK /J "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Folder" "D:\Folder.

You may need to adjust the permissions of files and folders on the drive D:\ so that all users can have access to them.

I have not tested it; so be cautious.

  • How to share a second hard drive with the residential group / network?

Initially, I posted this to the security and privacy but we told him it should be under the sons of the network.  Here's hoping someone can help.

I have a desktop computer and a laptop both running W7 Home Professional 64 bit.  On the desktop, I have 2 hard drives - C has programs, D has the data.  On the laptop, I'm just a hard drive.

Each machine can see the other time under residential group and network.  From the Office I can access files that are on the laptop but I can't do the reverse.

The laptop can see the desktop drive D and all folders that I shared, but when I try to dig into a folder I get a message saying I don't have permission to access the folder.  In this case, if I try to access using either homegroup or the network.

On the desktop, when I look at the properties of the D drive it shows as a shared network drive.  Individual records within D show shared with permissions of read/write with anyone and/or homegroup.

What did I do wrong (or failed to do) to allow me to access the files on the disk D of desktop from the laptop?

    Hello

Step 1: Try to run the troubleshooter of shared folders and check.

Step 2: Try to give permissions to specific user through which you are trying to access these files or folders.

Step 3: You can also try the advanced sharing and check.

  • I do not understand how to share folders-please help!

Hello people: I bought Linksys NAS200 over a year ago. Whenever I try to put in place in order to use it, I end up getting nowhere.

I don't know why, but I'm unable to understand the structure of this machine is shared by all. I have a HP EX470, I am able to configure it with very few problems, but I don't know why I can't get the NAS200 up and running properly.

So, I try again. I'm sure that with your help, I can finally put it into good use.

So far, he has two discs that have been formatted. I was able to drag-and - drop a bunch of files on each disk.

This is where things started not not to make more sense. After you run the Setup program, two disks have both been mapped and have been respectively appointed Public disc 1 and disc 2 Public. Up to the House, all users on the network are able to access two files readers.

My question is: how in the h * he's I can put in place private folders for the account of the individual user when everyone already have access to all readers?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and to give of your time.

Now that I know more, I'll experiment with the examples you provided and see if I'm 'getting it' now. I will keep you and will definitely click on the Solution button. Thanks again for such an elaborate answer!
