  Hello.  I have a BB Curve 8520.  I was looking for just the page options and then I think I clicked on the speed dial option.  The keyguard option has 'a' and I clicked it and it locked the keyboard.  I didn't realize there was a lock for my keyboard (and had been in charge of looking for one).  However, I can't get it unlocked.  When I press the menu button, it appears that the keyboard is locked.  Press the button Mute to unlock. »

  However, I don't know where is the Mute button, nor can I get it to unlock.

  My theme is precision zen (I think) if that makes a difference.

  Does anyone know how can I unlock my keyboard?  And then how to lock successfully in the future?  I guess I don't understand the aspect of the phone speed dial.

  If your device is blocked on request a PUK code, you will need to contact your point of sale and exercise of warranty options. Since it's the only thing that can be done when the device is in this State I'll mark this reply as the solution so that others are aware of what needs to be done.

• BlackBerry 9000 "BOLD" Smartphones shows 1 unread email problem

  Yesterday, my 9000 "BOLD" began to show that I had 1 unread email (the icon at the top of the main screen).  The e-mail tab folder EVERYTHING was not a red stars indicating unread messages and when I go to the email app and press U for unread I get the message "No Unread Messages in the list"

  Today I received emails 34 icon went to 35 unread, I opened all the 34 for today and the icon still shows 1 unread.  I also highlighted all the emails, them marked as read and then scored as reading and still the icon shows unread 1!

  I tried a battery pull to clear the icon but that did not work or the other.

  Please can someone advise how to clear this?

  Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

  (you probably have a RECORDED message, unread).

  If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

  Try these options:
  The main Messages folder and select today's date, click on the menu button and then select Mark prior opened.
  * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
  Messages > saved Messages
  Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
  * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
  Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
  * Connect to Desktop Manager > backup/restore > advanced. On the right pane is the list of the data on your device. Scroll to the e-mail highlighted messages database, and then below, select TRANSPARENT. This will clear your system of all messages.
  * Clean and reload your OS.

  Hello.  I do not block my phone.  I picked up this afternoon and the phone is locked and the background image is different.  No one touched and I don't know what happened.  This happened to someone else?  I tried to take out the battery, allowing to rest for a while and put the battery back in.... and thus leaving him for a period of time see if it would reset.  No luck.

  Thanks for the reply.  It turns out that one of the members of my family thought they were being funny and locked the phone.  Everything is good.

If I go to "manage connections" and select "Mobile network", turn it off, then turn it back on, the connection is re-established. Similarly, if I turn off the phone and then turn it on again, the connection comes back. This problem effectively makes the phone useless and I have no idea how to solve this problem.   New Blackberry owner here.  I don't see anywhere in the manual (or parameters) how to "lock" screen when you use do not (so as to not buttons pushed when I put it in my pocket). I prefer not having to wait at the minimum 10 seconds for the screen to turn off - and even in this case, I do not know how to walk AWAY from it.  A lot of 'butt dialing' and launch apps when I don't want him!

  You should be perfectly fine as long when you travel abroad you have international Tmobile data plan, or if you insert a foreign carrier SIM in the device, you get a BlackBerry data Plan with this SIM card in time.

  Perform a full backup of the device using BlackBerry Desktop Software.

  Install JL_Cmder to your pc by opening the zipper (using software like 7zip or similar) and then double-click on the extracted file. It should add an icon on your desktop after the installation.

  Connect the BlackBerry via USB cable.

  Run JL_Cmder

  Follow the prompts for if your device requires a password.

  In the menu, select "resettofactory."

  JL_Cmder will ask you if you are sure and type blackberry.

  The device will wipe away and the it policy will be deleted. This may take a few minutes, so be patient.

  You have the calendar set to read-only? Are there symbols of the lock next to your calendar in the Calendar pane?
