How to use pine TRG in controller PXI-8176

Dear all,

I have the Thermocouple data acquisition system. In which there are 2 PXI chassis (1) 1002 with

PXI8176 controller with RT, map 6071E PXI data acquisition (2) block 1001 SCXI with SCXI-1125 and SCXI1327 card.

PXI 6071E connected in 1125 SCXI with SH1006868 cable and adapter SCXI1349.

I'm using Labview 8.6, DAQmx9.0

I develop the program for the continuous acquisition of thermocouple. Now, I want to do the program on the acquisition of database trigger.  When the trigger pulse comes the system begins to acquire (newspapers and data in the file) to userdefine times and stop the acquisition. Again when the trigger pulse comes new system begins to acquire and to stop at defined time.

There is a single pin FIT on the PXI-8176 controller, can I use that one and how do I use it? Or I have to use the separate DIO line for trigger?

You can guide me how I can develop this system.

Thank you.

-Vishnu

Yes, you can route a trigger for channels PXI trigger in the bottom of the basket of the PXI chassis via the SMB connector located on the front of the PXI embedded controller.

Please see tutorial following example or the same article on devzone

Hope this helps

  • How to use the two counters to PXI-6280, to read and write at the same time?

    Hi all

I try to use PXI-6280 counter to generate a command of step motor pulse train.  The idea is to send a number done and known pulse for the engine, which belongs to a system XYZ. The point is, if, at some point, the user or the security system can interrupt the movement. If this happens (and will be... a lot), I will lose the real position, because I don't know how many pulses were actually sent to the engine. That is why I want to use the other cost to count impulses how were actually sent to the engine. I can start any tasks (generating or account), but only the first started task will operate. I met a couple of mistakes and I'm not able to find a solution.

Is it really possible to use the two counters? I've already done this in a pci system and worked without problems.

    Thanks in advance,

    Giavonna

    Electrical engineer

I'm afraid that I don't understand your idea. Could explain you better?

Material of the series M support pointing to an arbitrary digital signals at rates (the clock must be provided from another source, for example a counter).  If you want a digital pulse train finished output and have access to a counter (the two counters if find you another source for your clock, for example the subsystem "output frequency"), you must use this subsystem 'digital output' rather than the output of the counter.  There should be examples in the finder of the example shows how to configure a finished task of digital output.

Now I'm generating sample clock having a single Timed material Point (the only mode accepts this mode), and configure the counter with finite samples.

I don't think not just single point NI the hardware, that's what you want.  More commonly, output meter tasks use timing 'Implied', where the release date is implicitly determined by the characteristics of the pulse user-defined.

Is there a way to stop the production of only one meter when a finite number of pulses has been played in another counter?

Yes, but it's a little tricky.  You can set a trigger 'Pause' on the output task, with the soruce the break being the internal release of the counter used for the task of entry.  Set the initial value of the counter of entry to 2 ^ 32-N (or maybe 2 ^ 32-1-N, I don't have a system right now to check) where N is the desired number of pulse output.  Together the counter event behavior for the counter edges of County switch output (this is a property of DAQmx export Signal).  When the counter of entry reaches terminal, its in-house production switches, causing thus the task of output to pause.  You can then stop the task in the software (you should be able to use the output of the task of entry counter event to signal to the software when the output is paused).

Now that I've written that the whole paragraph, I remember something * similar * to work around a limitation of the driver here .  It is not quite the same implementation I described above, but really, you can use a meter output or a counter entry to get the same effect (it could be a good place to start anyway if you want to try this).

Is there a way to read pulses them how have been generated, without the other counter, counting impulses?

  • How to install LabVIEW 7.0 on PXI-8186 RT

I try to install LabVIEW 7.0 in real-time on a PXI-8186 controller.  It took a lot of time to go through the process, and it still does not, so I write this message in part to help and partly to document which does not work for later use.  The controller provided with Windows XP installed.  I created a bootable Windows 98 (of http://www.allbootdisks.com/download/98.html) floppy.  I plugged in an external USB drive on the PXI-8186 controller.  The hard drive would be recognized only when the BIOS setting specified startup in Windows / other OS.  I brought to the top of the BIOS setting screen by pressing the delete key several times after turning on the chassis (hold the DELETE key and turn on the chassis do not provide the BIOS settings.  In the BIOS setting, I went to the tab 'LabVIEW RT' and changed the "Startup Configuration:" to "Windows / other OS.

I then started using the Windows 98 Startup disk and ran Fdisk

Using fdisk, I deleted the existing partition and creates a new main back partition with the size of the complete volume.

I then restarted the computer, once again starting with the Windows 98 Startup disk and formatted the C drive with the command "format C:".

"When the format was finished, I used MAX Version 4.5.0f0 and some tools of-> RT Disk Utilities-> create PXI Format hard drive.

I selected the Version 7.0 in the dropdown menu, complete the initialization of the disk without any problems and then used the resulting so that it starts the PXI chassis.

PXI started with the message 'Transfer control user program.' followed by a 11 lines from "WARNING KERNEL.346530: error initializing floppy A:" followed by a prompt to re - format the C: drive.  I typed "Yes".

    Then the following message appears:

Hard drive recovery to start in o/s real-time...

WARNING KERNEL.346530: Error initializing floppy drive A:

WARNING KERNEL.346530: Error initializing floppy drive A:

Change the drive target C:\hdmon.bin for a start.

Copy the host hdmon.bin target C:\hdmon.bin...

Error: Could not open source file hdmon.bin

Impossible to set up the hard drive boot sector.

At this point, I can enter the BIOS and configure the computer to start in LabVIEW RT and I get the following message:

"Could not load the LabVIEW RT of the player!

    Boot mode safe of Romans...

    Enter safe mode.

    The IP address is: 0.0.0.0

At this point, I can connect it to the chassis of MAX and assign an IP address.  I can also install LabVIEW 8.6 real-time without problem.  However, I can't get LabVIEW 7.0 installed in real time.  It is clear to me if in time real LabVIEW 7.0 must be installed using a diskette or by software 'install' button in MAX.  If I try to use the button 'Install Software', the only version of real time available is "8.6".  When I do "PXI Format hard drive", I see an option "7.0" or a "8.6".  Also, I tried to connect it to the chassis with 2 other computers, which have all two LabVIEW 7.0 installed in real time.

I saw an article in the knowledge base that says that LabVIEW 7.0 is supported on the PXI-8186 (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/B35E022CF91F6EF086256E68005FBC29) controller and another link which explains that an additional CD can be used to install the software (LabVIEW RT software does not exist on the Local host for PXI-8186 controller: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/4655C86B65AE7A7286256E620004834C?OpenDocument _)

However, this knowledge base made from 24/03/2004 and I have not received any CD entitled "The LabVIEW Real-time Embedded Software CD.  I got a CD "embedded controller OR ', but it was not obvious to me how to use it.  He has an "I386" folder and a "BONE" record on this matter.

    Any help appreciated.

After a Chase, the CD mentioned in the knowledge base has been found ("LabVIEW Real-time Embedded Software CD").  I put this CD on a computer that had at the time real LabVIEW 7.0 and Max Version 3.0.2 in it.  The Setup program ran, I installed LabVIEW 6.1 and 7.0 support and the installation tree showed that the support would be added for PXI-818 x controllers.  After running the program, I was able to install the software for the PXI-8186 and things worked as explained in the knowledge base.

The CD mentioned also ran on my laptop, which has MAX version 4.5.0f0.  However, you are using the latest version of MAX, I don't have the ability to install LabVIEW 7.0 in real-time on the PXI-8186 controller since the button to install the software.  I looked briefly using MAX, but I could not know if it is a bug with the latest version of the Drivers of OR or a voluntary choice of National Instruments for support not time real LabVIEW 7.0 in newer versions.

  • I'm not clear how to use the recovery CD

I added all the space using my HDD is it comes about 12 GB, I have 27.9 GB of disk space, but my drive has only 1.80 left disk space. I made clear to solve this problem. Basket is empty, I ran disk cleanup.

A computer expert suggested that Windows might have become confused and cannot recognize what place I save, it might be because I ran a program called Cyberscrub often. His solution is to reload Windows XP home. My laptop came with recovery discs, everything else is already loaded. I have so much I don't want to lose on my laptop. If I use the recovery discs, I will lose everything on my computer, am I better off buying Windows XP home and re-load, in which case I will not lose my job?

Also I am not clear how to use the recovery discs, I can't find instructions on what you are doing.
The only person who could help me went to travel and not reachable.
    Any help greatly appreciated
    Lorraine Hart

It of a very simple to recover the laptop.
Just boot from the recovery CD and follow the instructions on-screen ;)

I put t know what version recovery CD you have, but the older one provides the standard and expert mode. In expert mode, you can choose you partition where the OS is to be installed.
So in this case only the selected partition will be formatted!

But have you checked the size of the HARD disk in disk management?
Simply click on the my icon my computer and choose manage.

Of course, you could remove the internal HARD disk and it could connect to the external USB HDD controller. Then, connect the drive HARD to the second PC and you record data on another HARD drive.

Could someone how to use SD F30-127.
I tried to get the image from my SD card.
I inserted in the slot, but no drive ICON displayed

Hmmm. Please check if the SD card has been recognized in the Device Manager.
There should be no yellow exclamation!

    Another allusion;
-Remove the SD card in the slot
-Go to Device Manager and remove the SD card controller
    -Now reboot the laptop
-After restarting again windows should recognize and install new hardware. It is a SD card controller.
-Now, try to reinsert the SD card!

By the way; have you used the format SD card?

    Hi JKSH,

I'm sure you've probably noticed, that the specific documentation is not accessible to the public. Please create a demand for service by clicking here and using the tools on the right side of the screen. Once you have created a service request, we continue to assess your situation and we hope to get you the documentation you need. Although parts of it may be, I'm not quite sure that figure in the manual that you have accessed is perfectly to scale. So, contact National Instruments more directly can be a better option for you.

  • How to use the model instead of RP pspice to create the new component?

Hi, I need to create the model of opa890 of TI, but I found no spice I find model pspice, how to use it to create the new template part.

    Fouda, salvation

I took a quick glance to the component but for some reason, the model pspice does not correctly applied to the component. The second problem was that the pins have been mapped properly. I've done the component for you with the model and print and attached it to this message. You just need to add it to your database of click with the right button on the component, and then clicking on save to DB component.

If all goes well, you should start to see the results of the component. I hope this helps.

  • The use of Dll in RT PXI

    Hi Fellows LabVIEW...

I made a simple Dll (subtraction of two numbers) MS Visual Studios 2008 and I am the appellant in LabVIEW under target host computer. the Dll works fine.

Subsequently, I pasted the same Dll in the drive C of 8106 RT controller PXI (OS Pharlap) under nor-rt\Systems folder and did a similar under the lens of Rt and deployed VI but VI is not working properly. (Only the values go out is not calculated)...

What I have to do the DLL in another way for RT targets or I need to install additional toolboxes?

    Rohit

DLL as far as I know are made for windows and if I'm not mistaken can be used in the PharlapOS

  • How to use an internal counter of the cDAQ-9172 for measure PWM and generate the frequency?

    Hello

Requirement of my project is to measure 6-channel PWM and generate 5 frequency channels.

Suggestion of engineer OR bought cDAQ-9172 chassis and NI 9423 (8 DI correlated) and NI 9474 (8 correlated DO) for this requirement. I have a few questions

    Article:

1 > what should I know to customize my CompactDaq 9172 chassis

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/9367

I know that this way to synchronize the physical support 32 correlation system pin o for housing 1-4.

=> I'm not really sure how to use these channels synchronization support.

2 > using internal counters on one NOR cDAQ-9172 as a sample for other tasks clock

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/ADFC4DD8C9690232862575B70079FBD4

I know that I can change the ownership of the physical channel so I can get 2 meter outside the frame 6 and 7.

=> I do not think that this solution will be me because I can use only 2 counters with this method.

Could someone tell me please how to fix my project requirement? How to choose the setting for DAQmx screws?

I have experience with measure the PWM and generate the frequency, but with separated against only.

    Hey Thang.

AHA... for this, you can use the channel property node.
