  I read a lot of things in the developer section BC liquid. Clearly for the programmers out there, it's like plain English what she gets. However, for the rest of us, designers and our customers, there are large gaps in the way it is presented. It assumes that we have a basic understanding of the functions on the server side and on the side of customer calls.   Looking at some data in the data base of CB, the units of measure for the resource type 6 (network) received and transmitted is labeled as "GB / h.  Some of the sample values by looking at daily performance stats I see values such as 112 629 and 111 134 to the following sample.  So should I interpret this value so that they would have sent / / received 112 629 gigabytes for this time if the use has been constant during this time?  It's really high for what was actually happening.  Is it not really Kb / hour?

  Internally, vCenter chargeback divides the values of the sample by the conversion factor to get to real values. For the resource type 6 (network received and transmitted) the values of samples in the CB_VC_PERFORMANCE_STAT table are saved in Kbps and when calculating costs are converted to GB / hour by dividing the value of the sample by 291.271 ((1024*1024) /(60*60) = 291.271). In your case, the real GB by time values would be of the GB/hour (112 629 / 291.271) and (111 134 / 291.271) GB/hour.
  You can find the conversion factors in another table CB_RESOURCE_VC_COUNTER_DETAIL.

The problem is: the width of the column based on the cell that contains the longest string, and if the header-string has a length, then the header is truncated (it shows the points of suspension) and I need to change the width of column manually. How could I solve this problem? The easiest way would be to calculate the width of column on myself. I can't find any method in javafx, allowing to calculate the width of the string in pixels. Bat there is the FontMetrics class and the Graphics class, so it's easy to get the width in pixels. There pendants to this course in JavaFX?

  It is indeed a problem valid and I had only a short time consuming solution. You can create a new instance of a few well-chosen javafx.scene.Node and apply the same style you have in your column header. You would then proceed with

  new Scene( new Group( YourNode ) );
  YourNode.applyCss( );
  YourColumn.setPrefWidth( YourNode.getLayoutBounds( ).getWidth( ) );
  

  You can get simple text width by using the javafx.scene.text.Text node, but it doesn't have some nice properties, you could use as padding.

  I worked with oracle forms and reports 6i, at the time When elaborate measures of shape, it was something like 7,800 or 6.23... etc - seemed to be in inches-

  When we went to 11g measures appear to be in the 700 points or 800... etc.

  the problem is when I copy anything a report in to 11g 6i, it removes the decimal point, if it was 7,800 in 6i it becomes 7800 g 11, which is huge.

  so is it possible to change the measures of the form points to 11g po or vice versa.

  Yes, you must update the Module property of coordinate system level.  Then, click on the Module of the Navigator object node and select Properties.  Then scroll down and select the coordinate system property and click the more... button.  From there, you can change the properties of coordinate system, true unity and character cell .  I recommend that you open your original form in Forms 6i and look at these property values.  Open your form in form 11g and set the properties so that they match.  Although, if you migrate your form at Forms 11 g these properties should not change.  If you are creating a new form and copy your old objects of form in the new form, I recommend that you create a model form that has the properties of coordinate system you want and then start all new forms using this template file.

  (1) using a router?  They usually have a firewall.

  2) go to control panel and click on security.  Click the down arrow next to firewall and windows will tell you what is running

  (3) you could also look in Control Panel > programs and features for the firewall software like McAfee, ZoneAlarm, or any that you have previously installed.  You can uninstall then from there.  Use the Norton uninstaller to remove the software and/or the traces that were left during uninstall.

  If the computer is slow, check programs and features for applications that are installed but you never or rarely use.  Uninstalling those who help you in speed.  And if you go in program files, search for files left behind from applications already installed.  If more than six months, it is safe to remove them.  Remove temporary files, run disk cleaner, empty the trash, defrag your unit.

  There's nothing wrong with changing preferences. Simply change it back later. Play with unit conversions, it's more trouble than what it's worth (in my opinion).

  If you wrap your script in a try/catch/finally block (change back in the end), that should change back 99.9% of the time units.

  I am just using the preferences visible, so you know if it changes back fails (and will not break scripts legacy, based on the measures of the user interface)...
