HP 14-r046tu: adding memory / RAM

Hello

I bought a HP 14 Notebook PC (14-r046tu) sometimes in November 2014 and after a while, I noticed that little by little, he began to slow down on me. I already uninstalled the software that I don't normally use and clean up disk space, but he gave little improvement. Research, an option I can use to improve performance is to increase the memory (RAM) of this machine. If I can ask for opinion/s about this if this is possible for my machine or if there are other ways to improve the performance of my machine.

Thanks in advance

Hello

RAM: Please use the following site to scan your machine. It will tell you exactly what you need and where to buy, or you can also use the information to buy elsewhere:

http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/systemscanner

The following specification is for your machine:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04382942

It's a basic machine, cheap, low end. I wouldn't have money to improve this machine, save money and buy a better machine will be much cheaper in the end.

Kind regards.

  • adding memory ram for my HP media center m8000 pavilion

    Hi guys,.

I just bought a pair of RAM (2x1GB DDR2) Corsair and tried inserting them in my Pavilion m8000. First I got a beep and the computer would not start (black screen). Next I went to release one of the rams and I got the beep to stop, but I just got the BIOS window when starting and it got stuck there.

Did anyone experience a few problems I've done? If so, could you please help me.

Thanks in advance for any response,

  • Speed of memory after adding memory and upgrading the video card problem.

My XPS 410 ships in September 2007 with a Core 2 Quad (Q6600) 2.4 ghz processor and two gigs of 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM. Recently, I added two concerts more than 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM and replaced my GeForce 8600 GTS with a GeForce 9500 GT with 1 GB of video memory. When I started the system, all four gigabytes of memory have been recognized, but was only running at 667 mhz. Can I fix this? This means that the original memory, or the new memory is really 667 mhz DDR2 SDRAM and not the 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM I paid for? There are other possible reasons for this?

    Hi RuralDigital,

I will need some additional information to help you best.

Ø you have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?

O do you have 667 MHz RAM in your computer?

When you use one more memory RAM clocked with one less clocked the two Rams, RAM will run at a lower speed RAM, that means that when you install a DDR2 667 MHz and DDR2 800 MHz clock speed, maximum RAM memory will be lower among the 2 cylinders speed, i.e., 667 Mhz.

Then I suggest you to check if the speed of the Rams is the same.

  • Usable memory (RAM) less than the installed memory, showing remove Win7 dual-boot.

Original title: "Memory (RAM): 12,00 GB (3.62 GB usable)", how can I resolve this issue and remove a dual boot Win7?

I recently, after experincing problems (see below the Intel SSD), noticed the system said that there is only a 3.62 GB of Ram available in my computer.  I have this statement ' Installed Memory (RAM): 12,00 GB (3.62 GB usable) "the computer has always used a higher around 10-11 GB amount.

I noticed that the Windows performance index was 5.6, after adding an Intell 240 GB SSD, it jumped to 7.6; However, now with the problems is 5.4, caused by the RAM.

I ran the full memory diagnostics: start-up and verification of memory it says I have 12 GB of RAM can be used across both.  I asked with Asrock if my RAM and CPU compatible before buying it, and they said it was a wise decision for 970 Extreme4 motherboard.  I subsequently has inquired about the Kingston RAM and included information from a - Data, and they said they used Kingston ringout for approval process as with a - DATA, including the compatibility of the different types of RAM used together.  The RAM was tested and is placed on the store of the computer.
This problem did not exist until I installed the Intel SSD.

I don't have a problem with dual boot on my computer after installing a new 7 ultimate on the SSD, and when it worked normally, I atttached the old hd back into your computer, because important data it contains.  This caused a situation of dual-boot.  I did some research and jumped the drive as a slave thinks that it would not cause a problem.  How can I remove Windows 7 from the old hd and then remove the window dual-boot.  I tried the old way to change the startup configuration, however, I can't find it in 7 Ultimate SP1. I also sent the old HD and the start window remained, as the index and the usable Ram 3.62.

    My Questions as already said:
How can I return to a usable 12 GB of RAM and return the highest Index of Exp Win?
How the dual boot can be edited to boot from my SSD without window startup and remove window 7 my old HD eventually without formatting?

  • ' Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (3.12 GB usable) ", what does that mean?

Recently, I added 4 GB memory to my existing 4 GB, for a total of 8 GB of RAM.

After installation, I checked system properties to find this info.  ' Installed memory (RAM): 8,00 go-go (3.12 useable).
In addition, 'Windows Experience Index' before when I had a single 4 GB stick was 7.4, now after adding another stick of 4 GB, it came down to 5.9.
Does this mean the extra 4 GB of RAM, I added is not used and is only slow down my computer?
If yes how to do all 8 GB of usable RAM and have a higher Index Win Exp?

  • wrong time and date in the hp Pavilion a305w pc after adding memory

I took the tour of the hp Pavilion a305W (Windows XP) PC to a place where they have added memory because it was very slow.

After that, it would not start by itself, and the Date and time are not good.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Very probably during the process of adding more memory you may disrupt the battery CMOS (or RTC) or even the chip for the BIOS itself. Please (no need to do this):

    • Reinstall the components autour RAM slots
    • Change new battery for RTC
    • Check the BIOS and reset the date hour away
    • Check the date and time of Windows.

    Kind regards.

    Problem:

I searched a bit on Google and here is an answer to my problem, but couldn't find an answer. I recently added to Ram sticks (2 GB each), and they worked perfectly when I right click on computer and click Properties it shows I have 4 GB (2.75 GB usable).

I have no Advanced tab so I can't give my video memory but y at - it another way?

I've updated my Bios several times on the HP site and nothing has changed. Is there a special reason for this, or I'm not able to edit such things?

If my computer needs to be sent in I'll do it with pleasure, but I am a player to play the games as League of Legends, Smite, Maplestory, etc, and I would like the extra if possible ram.

    Thank you

To go to 64-bit, you must boot from the CD format the partition C (backup first you want) & fresh install 64-bit & get any driver 64 bit necessary support hp & drivers...

you have downloaded ultimate but you have the same version type to use the same original license (license works on 32 or 64 bit the same version).

However, you can transform your ultimate in a 64-bit version drive while reading this post

When I check the activity monitor, 3 installers are open and they start around 80 MB memory RAM used for about 7 or 8 concerts after 10 minutes. I have to force them to quit, but I don't know what I am closing or why they open in the first place. Applications downloaded on iTunes?

In addition, the Console has opened with the same message several times, but I don't know what that means.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The last is a picture of the Terminal window.

Just because it lists 'Console' does not mean that it has nothing to do with this application.

You have not said why or what you're trying to install so I can't help with that.

You can use the activity monitor to leave their.

After you select an item, use the X in a type of stop sign icon and confirm force quit.

If this is not the case, what Macbook can go up to 16GB of memory ram?

I prefer to buy the cheapest and then buy my own ram put in me, but I've heard some macbooks now, you cannot install your own memory, must come installed in the factory.
