I have found no solution posted. Most (now locked) son is completed by people who say 'don't update your bios is running well.

This computer does not work well and I'd like to update the BIOS.

The problem is that the update of the bios said it failed because the update is only not for this model of computer.
    The laptop is a Satellite 3000 - X 11. I downloaded the update of the BIOS v1.6 for the Satellite 3000 - X 11

  • BIOS update issues

I have a laptop Toshiba A - 215 Satellite & have a question.  In support of Toshiba for this laptop in particular, there are 6 - different versions of BIOS update.  Currently, I have the version installed in factory 1.00, dated 08/27/2007.  My question is is I meet any major problem, that you may know to download the 'versions of Flash ACPI & am I suppose to download the versions in increments-eg. version 1.30 to 1.50 & up to 2.00 maximum as well which is the latest version?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Thomas,

First of all, why do you want to update the BIOS? I do not recommend updating BIOS whatsoever unless you ABSOLUTELY need for reasons such as: compatibility, fix bug, etc. Essentially, a BIOS update only if you want to solve a problem, you know for a fact is not fixable with a BIOS update. Don't just carelessly to the BIOS update. It is very dangerous. Today, we have systems dual-BIOS and precautionary measures, but it is still not recommended unless absolutely necessary.

However, to also answer your question, when and if you need to update the BIOS, are always more later because it contains all fixes + all new the old BIOS rev has (unless of course the manufacturer removed something for stability purposes).

    Kind regards

  • Portege Z835 - need help with BIOS update

    Hello.

I have a Portege Z835, with a battery problem: do not load. The battery indicator says "3% connected load" but it doesn't load the battery.

Some forums said that the solution is updating the Bios. I have a Bios Update v.1.60 ready to install. When I try to install, we get the message "the battery power is not enough.

My power cord is still connected. If I unplug the power cord, the laptop is turned off.

    Please, what can I do?

    Thank you.

    F.

To be honest I don't think it's the related issue of the BIOS. AFAIK battery must be charged, even if the laptop is turned OFF so why BIOS update if the battery can not be charged at all.

To me that sounds like hardware related issue.

    How old is your Portege?
    Warranty is still valid?

Maybe you should contact Toshiba service and ask for help or even their opinion.

  • Problem of Tecra M5 BIOS update

I downloaded the file from the Toshiba site and now have P003Fv370.exe. Race that happens just with "update of the BIOS is not supported OS, unsupported operating system or service pack is installed". I was under the impression that it was independent BONES? Please help, I need to update to stop it crashing and blue screening me every half hour. I have already installed the value-added package.

    I have a Toshiba Tecra M5 PTM51E
    Running Windows 7 Enterprise
Current installed BIOS is version 1.70

I also read somewhere on the installation with a USB key, if someone could help I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Just tried again and it says "Could not create"C:\TOSHBIOS. " UPD file! "I don't know what is happening more.

    Hello

    The P003Fv370.exe is a package.
Right click on that package and select unpack here.
Now you should see the other folders inside this .exe package.

From my knowledge, it takes a file that starts the BIOS update.

If it won't work, I guess you need the original preinstalled system Toshiba update BIOS.
The other hand I n t think that BSOD appears due to the old version of the BIOS.
I guess that the update does not solve the problem.

Maybe the BSOD appears due to a problem of critical software or hardware issues so would be really interesting to know if the same thing happens with the help of preinstalled Toshiba system

  • Dead by Satellite A500-1pj after involuntary Bios Update

    Hello world

A friend of mine bought a new PC laptop toshiba Satellite A500-1pj a month ago. Windows 7 pro 64-bit pre-installed.
Also preinstalled: support software toshiba who - correctly - configured search automatically and installs updates and critical fixes.

Last Sunday this wonderful software recommended an update 'critical' to my friend - she's no expert but a user experienced who can make the difference between an update of the bios (and avoid this!) and a security patch, she agreed to download and install what she believed to be a security update.

Sure, she gave permission to an update of the bios being installed. During the process of updating the machine froze completely. She waited for three hours and then pulled the plug. Guess what: the machine is now completely gone. Does not display without fan, simply nothing.

Hotline support Toshiba told him that his cell two weeks old is not under warranty because this warranty does not cover software 'problems and the Bios updates are software upgrades.

The company repair says a repair will very probably equal to buy a new laptop so here we are...

    My questions:

    (1) the laptop is a Satellite A500-1pj (PSAR9E-01M00QGR) fitted to a phoenix UEFI bios (bios toshiba/phoenix, 1.1.26 update tool is pretty radical - no warning at all! he tried to update me my computer dell laptop, lucky!).
I found some posts on older machines that can be reflashed using a usb disk, hot spare bios back and a combination of keys (Fn + B or Fn + F...). is it possible to do this with a UEFI bios too?

    (2) anyone out there have the same problem?

    (3) any chance of toshiba help us with that issue and prevent others from making the same mistake to understand at least a warning in their bios updates?

    Thanks for your help!

    Tony

    > The company repair says a repair will very probably equal to buy a new laptop so here we are...
    I doubt that
I think that the module ROM BIOS was flashed incorrectly (don't know why) and therefore you can not start the laptop.
This can happen for different reasons, maybe that the update process was interrupted due to a process running in the background, etc.

In order to solve this problem, the ROM module must be flashed again using a special crisis disk BIOS... that's all.

The update of the BIOS is always a sensitive procedure but if everything was done correctly, then update the BIOS must successfully complete.

I found this very interesting and useful to Toshiba and HowTo doc correctly updated the BIOS!

  • Satellite M100 - no speakers sound thorugh after BIOS update

    Hi all

I have satelite M100 PSMAAA-02006 with XP. I just updated the Bios on V3.0. Speakers do not work after update but the audio jack works so with headphones I can listen to but not through Laptop speakers and the keys to media on top of keyboard play, pause, stop, next, back, etc. homepage react too much.

Someone knows the solution to this issue. Or is it possible to get the old BIOS? Although I not sure aboutt previous version.

need quick help. Please answer as soon as possible.

    Thanks & best regards...

    Hi Julie,.

I doubt that this was due the update of the BIOS. Is that what you have loaded default settings after updating the BIOS?
Have you chosen the correct BIOS update?

Normally you can hear the sound on the speakers laptop if you disconnect the headset. Make sure that the sound is not muted, you can do this with the FN + ESC key combination.

About the multimedia keys, I would recommend reinstallation of Toshiba common Modules. You can find it on the Toshiba site.

  • Satellite L300-1 has 3 - after the BIOS update, I get a BSOD

I have a Satellite L300 1A 3 MODEL PSLB8E. I decided to update the version of the BIOS, thinking that he can resolve my issue of ethernet controller.

But after the update, my laptop goes on infinite blue screen of death. How can I recover from this injury?

    Can someone please help.

    Hello

Did you choose the good BIOS update for your model? Was it for Satellite L300 PSLB8E?

    What code you get BSOD?

After the BIOS update you must always load the default settings. Maybe a bad BIOS setting is causing this BSOD.

  • PAVILION NOTEBOOK 15 K7Q21EA #: SCROLLING WINDOWS PROBLEM AFTER BIOS UPDATED 10 (08/03/2016) PAVILION 15 YESTERDAY 16/10/2016

CANNOT CONTROL THE SCROLLING. CURSOR DOWN TO THE LOW WHAT MAKES IMPOSSIBLE TO SAVE TO A FOLDER

    Hi @STICKMAN5124,

Nice day! Thank you for your participation in the Forums of HP Support! It is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. It will be a pleasure to help you.

I saw the post and understand that after only a bios updated cursor drops down due to a problem of scrolling.

Impressive work, do the update of the bios. Kudos to you for this. It is a privilege to work with tech-savvy and technically competent customers like you and we greatly appreciate your business with HP. You have been great to work with.

Please check in F2 diagnostics if the scrollbar works correctly. If Yes, then you can update the chipset drivers and http://hp.com/drivers touchpad drivers you can also consult with a mouse external further isolate the issue.

You can also run diagnostics on the touchpad from this link by going to the UEFI F2 diagnostics: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03467259 please run the complete components. If any component fails, please note the failure code. This is done to determine if the problem is hardware or software partners.

If it passes and scrolling works very well, please perform these updates. If you are still having the same problem on page F2 UEFI (screen) then you could roll back bios after performing a hard reset. Link for the hard reset: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768

    • Please perform this step to roll back bios.  Hold down the "Windows" key and the letter "B" at the same time, then press the power also button for about 5 seconds at the same time.

I hope this helps. I would like to know how this happens. I hope the problem is solved without hassle and the unit works very well.

  • HP Pavilion BIOS update

I bought this laptop in December with 10 Windows installed. A few weeks ago I started to receive a notification in Support Assistant update THE system BIOS.  No matter how many times I run the update of the notice persists and never recorded Action log this update took place.

After having checked with this Forum, it seems that other users have had problems with the updates to the BIOS and HP Support implemented warned against updating the system BIOS, unless there is a compelling reason to do so.

    1. because I am not having any issue that could force such update, should I simply reject the notification?

    2. If such an update is not advisable, why Wizard displays its notification?

3 dismissing the notification would make this sensitive laptop security vulnerabilities?

    4. the instructions on the site of HP update BIOS theSystem are considerably more complex than the procedure launched from support Assistant. Exactly what is it?  The update to Wizard help Softpac number SP76353, Version F.19Ap1, size 8,89 MB.

    Hi @LAB7,

    Thanks for posting HP forums!

I read your post and wanted to help.

I understand that you have questions about the update of the BIOS. I agree that if there is no problem with the current system running, it is not necessary to update the BIOS. However, HP support assistant will fill the notification as soon as there is a newer version of the BIOS. You can reject the message and it won't cause security problems.

There is another way to update the BIOS, by downloading it from the HP support page. You can put the number of your product here on this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers. Choose the right operating system on the page, it will show the drivers to your model, including the BIOS update.

Hope that these could help. Let me know if you need more assistance.

If this post helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me congratulations.

    Kind regards

  • Re: NB520 - buttons on the touchpad does not work after BIOS update

Got my NB520 yesterday and installed all windows updates, and then the BIOS updates proposed by the action center of Toshiba and after that the two touchpad buttons have stopped working.

They did before. Any ideas whats happened, this is the update of the BIOS?

I put t know if its the related issue of the BIOS, but if there is no way to get buttons working again I recommend you reinstall the OS using the recovery mode. Test the functionality of buttons with the factory settings.

By the way: touchpad works properly?
You can use an external mouse correctly?
Have you checked all the settings of the touchpad?
