Hello. Then, when I turned on my laptop this morning, everything was normal and fine. Then I went to do something, closed my laptop (no has not properly shut it down because I knew I had to use it soon). Later, I opened it again to the top and the screensaver has been changed. I'm sure no one entered my room and it changed while I was away, and I got very paranoid about to receive my pirate laptop because it's already happened once.

    Hi John,.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

This problem may occur because of file system corrupt, corrupted user profile or the key is removed from the Windows registry.

I suggest you try the methods and check them off below if this is useful:

Method 1: Run "DISM Cleanup-Image' tool.

    Follow the steps below:

    1. Open a command prompt and run as administrator.
    2. At the elevated command prompt, copy and paste the command below that you want to use.

    DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    3. in the end, it is recommended to restart the PC to configure updates that may have been affected by the present.

Method 2: Using the Option "restore defaults".

On the lock screen customization page, right-click on a thumbnail of the image and select the option 'restore defaults'.

    Method 3: Renaming SystemData file.

    1. press "Win + R" keys to open the dialog box RUN. Now, copy the rest of string in the text box and press ENTER:

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\

It will open the "Windows" folder that contains many other subfolders inside.

    2. now to take possession of the folder "SystemData.

    3. after taking possession, rename the folder to another name such as SystemData_bak, etc.

If your D: Bank the recovery Partition is set up by your computer manufacturer, you pretty much messed up royally.

Your recovery partition D is implemented by the manufacturer of your computer in the event of serious problems in your system.
You use it to restore your system.

You are NOT supposed to touch it... not for nothing is add or remove anything from him.

Call the manufacturer of your computer, ask to speak to a technicain. Tell the person what you did for the D drive.

    1. ask for a set of recovery DVD re - install Vista, if you do not have a game yourself.
    2. ask how to remove all elements that are NOT supposed to be there.
They created the recovery partition, they know how to take care of it.
Let them teach how you to.

    1. are you able to click on the dropdown under screen saver?

    Hello

    ·         You can use the keyboard or the mouse wireless?

I know, a wireless device can cause damaged screen saver. If so, please change another available cable device.

By default, the settings are different from different screensavers. Some screensavers have these options to be set in the window of the screen saver, as the text the screen saver, 3D Screensaver pictures, popular screensaver and screensaver of Windows Live Photo Gallery. Some screen savers have no options to set in the window of the screen saver, such as screen saver Aurora, the white screensaver, the screensaver bubbles, Mystify, ribbons screen saver screen saver and Windows Logo screen saver. However, if you want to change these settings for screen savers, you can customize them through the registry instead.

To resolve this problem, I would propose the following suggestions.

Method 1: Try to scanner auditor of file system (CFS) on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

Enable or disable screen saver: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-your-screen-saver-on-or-off

Method 3: try to change several screensavers and see if none of them works. You can visit the following Web site to change the screen saver.

For more information about installing a screen saver, see the help provided with the screen saver that you want to install. You can also check if it's compatible with Windows Vista.

    Hi Sunny,

You can't add as sepia options, randomly in the screen saver. Windows comes with several screen savers. You can also create your own personal photo screen savers, that you saved on your computer, or some software companies might develop additional screensavers for download or purchase.
