HP 2000: Hiw disable UEFI?

Hello
I have a 2000 HP laptop 2312TU with chip pentinum intel with windows pre-installed 8...
After I bought the laptop, I realized that the laptop was slow and sometimes hung...
I showed my laptop for technicians, and they said that windows 8 is much too advanced for Intel pentinum chip and can not support, so I decided to install windows 7...
So I googled how downgrade windows 8 for windows 7 and it has been a very tedious job...
They say I should UEFI enable and disable the legacy boot in the BIOS...
I can activate the boot inherited, but the safe boot option (I discovered is the UEFI option, also called secure boot) is greyed out...
Can someone help me with this problem... ?? !!
I desperately need windows 7 must be installed in my laptop...

Try this:

Start Mode UEFI or Legacy BIOS mode

  • 8 64-bit downgrade from windows 7 32-bit Windows, how do I disable UEFI and GPT

I brought a new laptop preinstalled Windows 8. After 2 days, I decide it downgrade to my previous windows 7. I have over 2 TB of HDD, so I do not think that UEFI and GPT is good for me. I use Diskpart to convert GPT on the MBR. However, I received a warning message when I installed Windows 7, it says "Setup could not create a new partition system.

Also, I went into the BIOS, it seemed to me that I could not disable UEFI. Maybe I could find a few early versions for a test.
    Any help would be appreciated.

You will need to go to your bios settings disable secure boot and also change it to mode inherited from wood. also select USB and CD boot options
Then when your computer starts on the button of start menu (usually f12) and select your operating system support is on

  • Disabled in BIOS, UEFI cannot now he back on Qosmio X 870

I bought a 1 TB SSD to replace the disk of 1 TB of system. I disabled UEFI in order to be able to run utilities Hirens to copy the old drive to a new one. This part has been a success, but now when I restart the laptop, it does not start (because he probably wants back UEFI) and I can't get into the BIOS anymore (I tried DEL, ESC, F1, F2, F5, F10, F12, everything else I could think of).

Basically, all I have to do is somehow get the BIOS and re-enable the UEFI. But I can't access the BIOS! After a reboot, no key don't take me to the BIOS. I immediately get an attempt to make the network boot. If I re - insert the Hirens CD, I can boot from it, but what I really want is to reactivate the UEFI.

I even tried the recovery disk, but it does not restart the option in the BIOS.

    Anyone help is very appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

I don t think that changing the mode of UEFI would affect access BIOS

I think that the SSD upgrade could be the reason why you are unable to access the BIOS
In any case, the fact is that the F2 button is the right one and you need to press F2 key repeatedly in the line after turning on the device

You must also remove the SSD and you should try access the BIOS without drive SSD connected very well if it helps but it of certainly worth a try.

  • Satellite Pro R50-B-12N OCZ Vertex 460 has UEFI Install

    Hello world

I'm having a great problem with tent to install an SSD in one of our Toshiba laptops and allowing the UEFI. Here is a brief summary of the components involved:

OCZ Vertex 460 has SSD installed to replace the mechanical HARD drive. -SSD Firmware is up to date
Toshiba Satellite Pro Portable R50-B-12N - BIOS version is 1.40, CBS version is 1.20
    Windows 7 Enterprise X 64 install
MDT 2013 1 update to deploy to
Starting to install Windows 7 with Lite Touch PXE deployment
    Secure boot is disabled
    UEFI enabled

When I try to install a Windows 7 image, the original MDT deployment process works correctly with no error message. The disc seems to be partitioned correctly for an EFI boot disk, and extracted the install.wim file on the windows partition. Unattend.Xml apply and restart the laptop.

Each reboot the laptop, however, an error message appears asking to install a system disk and press a key to continue. I don't know this error happening if a startup disk is not detected or the hard disk fails.

Interestingly, if I disable UEFI and start again the deployment process, this problem does not occur. The laptop restarts and continues the installation without problem when running in MSC mode.

Can someone answer the following for me queries please?

    (1) if I run in MSC mode, I feel that UEFI is say-abled, so I don't get any of the benefits of the use of instead of the UEFI BIOS. Is this correct?

    (2) Windows 7 is able to UEFI boot as long as Secure Boot is disabled. As it is a SATA drive, there is no drivers needed for this HARD drive to work (according to he site OCZ)-I do not think it is a driver error, as the operating system does not load.

    (3) If you need more details regarding this flaw could list you for me to recover? I have to clean and reinstall the laptop each time in order for me to do now.

I'd appreciate any help with the above error. Currently, I think it's a fault with the application of portable computers UEFI boot but I would like a third opinion on this if possible?

Thank you for your time and help with this query.

    Kind regards

    Koryo

  • Installing Win7 on Satellite C50-A-1john - lack of options of UEFI

Hey all, this is my first post, but have been an active reader for a while, ive looked for this problem on the forum, but have not found someone in my prediciment?

week 2 old C50 was pulled off the table by the dog so I lost the screen but the HARD drive was allowed as its been enslaved until my mac while the screen was fixed so I could continue to work.

When I came back, I have no device start-up etc... reading here once again an update of the bios will sort it so I thought Ill go back to the good old windows 7.

I want 7, back so I understand from reading here on all secure boot disable, Uefi stuff blah blah but my machine has system BIOS CBS version 1.00 1.10 so these options are not available

I also announced that the hard drive is now formatted to use my other computer toshiba laptop.

Now the part of Catch 22!

I want to update bios to 1.30, as says the toshiba site that will give me the uefi options so I can load win 7 but its engine to be updated only through windows and as above I now have an empty formatted drive and not be able to boot from a drive USB or CD because of MI of 1.10 bios a bit confused to how I can update the bios without windows and with the old bios does not allow me access to USB or CD?

    any ideas?

I have the ability to slave the drive on my mac or another computer toshiba laptop, so heads tech here I should (although long route) somehow the picture any thing on the disc whatsoever victory 8 "Yuck" as it has been bundled with and then update the bios, blat in car and then load win7? long-term, but might work? but once again with the no boot warning device that I can't see myself doing anything other than approaching the bin with the laptop

Help: D and thanks for reading.

    > How do I update the bios without windows and with the old bios does not allow me access to USB or CD?
    It is not possible.

You need system Windows installed for updating the BIOS.
If you have not created the recovery discs (or a USB support) in the past, you can order the disk recovery (containing Win 8.1) on this page:
    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Then you could recover the factory back to laptop (Win 8.1) settings and could update the BIOS.

_By the way: _ did you try to change the Startup Mode without updating the BIOS?
Disable secur boot in the Bios, saving the changes. Then boot into the BIOS again and now you can check if the CSM mode would appear as an available option.

  • Satellite 1605cds: RAM has not reported in Windows 2000

    Hello

    I have a 2nd hand Toshiba Satellite 1605cds/4.3 (amd k6-2 450 mhz basic system).
It has 32 MB of ram on board and a dimm slot - so put in a memory of 128 MB.

But I read this Web page:

    http://fandelem.com/toshiba2.html

where it says it can be improved with a 256 MB memory module!

I have it plugged in and it correctly sees 288 MB (32 MB onboard 256 MB on housing) in the bios.
When I boot from the partition of Windows 98 Second edition, it shows the 288 amount of ram.

.. .but when I boot on the partition of Windows 2000 Professional, it displays a blue screen saying that the bios is not an improved ACPI bios. It says that I have to push the F7 key during the installation of Windows 2000 to disable ACPI and install HAL.

But if I remove the 256 MB slot, Windows 2000 starts correctly without any problem.

I tried to reinstall Windows 2000 by pushing the F7 key during installation, but then Windows 2000 shows that the 32 MB of ram.

So, what can I do to run Windows 2000 and 256 MB module?
The bios is the last that can be downloaded on the web page of toshiba.

Thanks to all and sorry for my English.

    Hello

According to your description W2k said to update the layer HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer). In Windows 2000, there are several ways to solve the problems associated with the material (HAL, Hardware Abstraction Layer) Abstraction layer that may occur due to bad detection, an obsolete or non compliant Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) or incorrectly installed computer type or manually.

For more information, please see this Microsoft support site:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/237556

But as I know Toshiba supports the 128 MB only on this unit and if you want to use more ram you can do at your own risk!

  • HP Pavilion 17 Laptop: SP72853: updated Diagnostics hardware UEFI and Dual boot

On my HP Pavilion 17 laptop, I have a sollution to dual-boot Microsoft Windows 10 (upgrade to 8.1 pre-installed) and Debian Linux 8.

In order to start Debian (my main system of fact), I disabled the feature of 'safe start' UEFI. Ago, there was news that Microsoft's UEFI specification had changed and that its previous policy of mandatory "turn off secure boot UEFI" was now an option "enable disabling secure boot UEFI.

In other words, if I understand it, BIOS/UEFI firmware designed after that Microsoft's policy change can now either you allow to disable secure boot UEFI and allow you to use an alternative OS, such as Debian Linux or they can force UEFI secure boot on you and in this case, you cannot start a system like Debian...

Thus, with regard to the update UEFI available for my system, SP72853, before installing... I can always disable UEFI secure boot with this update?

Also, I noticed there is an even more recent update for my UEFI, which I assume that I will be offered to install once SP72853 has been installed. Thus, the same question about SP73263: I can always disable UEFI secure boot with this update of UEFI?

OK, so I advanced and tested myself.

First of all, I saved a copy of the previous update of the UEFI (SP72230), so I could go down to him if necessary.

So I just installed the update through HP Support Assistant, and indeed I can always choose to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS setup and boot Linux very well.

    Just for info.

EDIT: The latest update did not become an option available on HP Support Assistant now. The diagnostics UEFI version number is however one of the (5.9.0) SP72853 not the most recent one (5.9.1).
