  • Very slow start, Services could not be started

    Hello

I use Windows 7 Ultimate on my Vaio computer
A few days ago, I experienced a very new problem for me, which is:
-Start up Windows very slowly (welcome screen minutes...)
-When I get home from office, it shows that windows could not connect to the "Event Notification Service"
(- When I started to use the services of the window (click on desktop, taskbar, using network, or 'service' to enable the notification of event services...), I feel very slow loading, then hang up for minutes)
-View event log services also could not start, so I couldn't see what happened. After you enable this service, I restart my laptop and same thing happens again
-After it started to slow down, things worked normally (Internet explorer, other programs...)
I did the things so far:
-C' happened all of a sudden, I don't update or installed new programs
-J' I have try start-up repair, could not find any problem
-J' have disk check, nothing wrong...
-Tried in safe mode, same thing
Hoping to find a solution for this because this is my second post here, my previous post about blue screen due to USB_DRIVER... stuff has not been resolved, and I had to live with it.
    Thank you

    Dear Sir.

I tried to follow your instructions and it worked.
However, I had other problems and I tried to google out them, but I found solutions did not work for me.
So what I did, I did an 'upgrade' to replace the files on my system.
Problems with the services of the event disappeared, windows starts a little slowly, but the previous problems that I reported here are gone.
then I found another problem with my office 2013 after I did the upgrade. Tried Google on solutions and still can't solve.
I need office to work and I had to do a new reinstall my windows, so things are back to normal.
I still think that my drive has problem, as about 2 months ago, I had the same problem (slow start), I have reinstall my windows, and then recently, it happens again.
So I will wait to see this time, if the problem persists, I'll do disk check and allow you to see the report and hope that you could point to if my drive gone bad.
    Thank you very much

  • Very slow start and run for Dell Inspiron 6400 XP times

"I have a problem with an Inspiron 6400 brought to ' horribly slow start and run time.  XP Pro 32 bit SP3 patched up to date.  Cleaned up a lot of "undesirable", as the partially uninstalled programs, cleaned the files temporary etc. with CCleaner, cleaned and optimized the registry afer all the cleaning has been done, defragmented, tried to start without any of the boot files, disabled all unnecessary services and uninstalled virus checking software, (but ran several anti-virus controls) etc. - no help.   Safe Start Mode is faster, but... not at all normal - 1 1/2 minutes of screen to logon instead of close to 3 minutes.  A lot of memory (2 GB), which rises to 600 to 700 MB runnng all the stuff I've tried.  Hard drive is 1/3 used out of 120 GB with a 2 GB swap file.

One thing I'm still scratching my head over - beyond the horribly slow boot - is very slow access to files even though everything seems to work normally, but as molasses in January.  Looking at the performance of the Task Manager tab when I run a copy of a file (whether via a cmd window or with Windows Explorer), I see a near max processor would be and the other with a small business.  Even if the customer says he had been getting worse for some time, after checking and cleaning of all things 'normal', my next thought was perhaps a bad disk or disk controller driver, but chkdsk ran very well (although it took hours) even if I ' d I have already updated all drivers (and even the DVD firmware and BIOS) on the Dell web site.  Oh, and I ran Dell Diagnostics (from bootable CD) updates all with no errors found.  And access to the slow file even with symptoms had max-processor occur with a copy of the file on a USB key that seems to eliminiate the hard disk, the disk controller and the pilot.

The other interesting part of the display for a file copy task manager is that the processes tab simply shows System Idle 97 to 99%, with a percentage of casual for other processes as Explorer while I see 1 max out procesor on the performance tab.  That the same copy on your desktop shows 3-4% of the CPU usage and who is with active antivirus software.  I'm almost ready to fall toward a Windows reinstall, but would like to find the real reason behind this problem of puzzle...

It of almost as if he's using PIO instead of DMA disk access, but... don't know how/where to test this.

    Look at:
    and

Solved!   Thanks for the links, especially to each other.  An old but still a goodie!

For those who have enquring spirits (and anyone else who stumbles across this thread), the primary IDE controller has been set to PIO and locked it.  Who would have thought that Windows slowly reduced the transfer speed, whenever he saw 6 errors on an IDE device until it has been reduced to PIO and then he locked it?  But the procedures described in the link of winhlp.com showed how to solve the problem.

There are actually several problems that led to the final symptoms.  According to KB817472, the Atapi.sys has been improved in XP SP2 only degrade the speed of transfer on 6 consecutive errors instead of 6 cumulative errors.  And even though everything I have (Microsoft update) was seen and showed that this area was to SP3, I found that the driver for the controller layer IDE was the SP2 version.  Someone ran sfc previously perhaps?

Oh, and I know now that the Task Manager process tab does not time processor kernal, but the performance tab.  Good to know...

Thanks again to all who have responded.  Starting at the time of connection-question now is 40 seconds.   You'll love Untra DMA mode 5.   There is still a lingering question in my mind, since I've had the same symptoms of slow copy of a file on a flash drive.  Perhaps a link in some way to the way that Windows treats a flashdrive as a "drive"...

  • DVD burner in the new laptop VERY SLOW - PLDS DVD +-RW OF THE - 8A5HH

I just got a new laptop from Best Buy - Dell Inspiron 3521. There a PLDS DVD +-RW OF THE - 8A5HH drive built in. I tried to burn a data CD, but it failed several times.

I tried these in the file Explorer and CyberMedia Power2Go Burns, also at the Maximum speed or 24 X. It was using both Philips 52 X speed CDR burning failed at the end, when the burner is trying to close the disc. He couldn't complete a burn speed X 10 (very slow) to Power2Go. File Explorer strangled between 7 X and 10 x to be able to burn and did not show a dialog box saying if the burn is complete or not. He left me guessing.

It was after a call to Dell technical support and a trip on the Microsoft Support Site to use their CD - RW test online. He said he updated something, but I don't know what.

I must say it's a disappointment. I think I should have bought a laptop without a burner inside and bought an external burner. At least that way I had have the choice of what I got. This burner is slooowly.

Anyone have any idea if this can be fixed, or is it just a limitation of the burner is in this laptop? If it is material, well I guess you get what you pay for.

Dell phone support fixed it. Went to the Microsoft Support website and ran a convenience store of material for DVD players, who suggested the update of the firmware of the player. He did that, and then we went back and burned a disc in the file Explorer and it worked, but only to 10 X I opened Power2Go and burned a disc at 24 X, and it burned successfully. I didn't actually measure the speed (Power2Go shows you that), but it worked well and quickly. I think that the problem was an outdated firmware for the DVD/CD burner. Flashing to the latest firmware fixed the problem.

I want, I knew that this troubleshooting tool on the Microsoft support site, but now I can not find.

  • my laptop is slow start!

Hi my laptop which has windows xp of slow start and may take about 3omins you load a screen all the programs an icons on my desktop. I used prior winows of care to scan my laptop own an also used iobit smart defrag, but it is still slow. I also removed a lot of used programs. I also used my mcafee security software to scan virus ect but it is still slow. can anyone help?

    Thanks Adam

    Try scanning preforming using http://www.malwarebytes.org/

    and

    http://www.systweak.com/AntiSpyware/download/

    or

    http://www.lavasoft.com/

    or

    Spybot Search and destroy

then use spywareblaster to protect your pc and firefox as browser. for firefox use mcafee siteadviser and adblockplus and no scripts to increase your security.

I would you recommend using avast for the best time of the boot (it's what I think)

Try preformaing disk cleanup and disk défragmentent using windows one.

minimize your startup programs using msconfig (just type it run in)

Make sure that your windows is up to date as well as pilots. Find disk errors and preform scannow sfc.

Try using msconfig clean boot preforming, clear all your startup programs and no windows services, and then restart see if it makes a difference, if it then allowed the u off to see which one is initially slow start. If the clean boot did not help then steps above should solve the problem.

Use ccleaner to clean the junk files on your pc. It can also speed up your pc.

  • Time of very slow start with SSD

    Hello

I spent the last few days the net trying to find a solution to the boot of win7 very slow but have led to nothing so far trawling.
Im running Win7 Pro in bootcamp on a Macbook Pro with an SSD and 16 GB of RAM, but don't get a time horribly slow start, including a screen black (with usable mouse) for a long time before the watch office. I am not able to do a reinstall but would like to get the issue resolved if possible.

So far, I checked the event viewer to see there are problems and I don't see anything significant that the mere fact that each entry includes an 'Error' level, but I don't see what this error. I also used the process monitor to see what takes so long and there are a couple of processes which are time consuming and show a result 'Cancelled', one being svchost.exe 110secs (path: ...system32\drivers\etc) and the other 23secs Explorer.exe (path: ...appdata\roaming\microsoft\systemcertificates\my)
I should mention that I'm very new to this kind of troubleshooting but would appreciate any help I can get!
    Thank you!

The problem is that windows has been hanged in trying to restore network connections. Problem solved!

  • Satellite L650-12 q - slow very slow start & preformance

My laptop is a Satellite L650-12 q with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit, intel core i5 - 43 M and 4096 MB of RAM. It works very well but begins to be a little slow last weekend, I've defragmented it and it got a little better. Then two days ago you 22mins at startup (& login) and an another 7 minutes just to open all programs. It is slow to seriously.

I have defraged there once again, run the Tuneup Utilities (who says there is nothing to the difficulty to start), run my antivirus & anti-malware and it starts in safe mode. Even to start diagnosis and almost all startup programs off it makes virtually no difference.

In total, it takes 10 minutes to get from the start 'windows' to my login screen then another 5 to get to my office. If I want to open a document in word or firefox, then yet another 3-5 minutes so he can come and start running slowly. Does not better it's on, but not by much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it's to tell me that it's time to get a new laptop :)

No, it is not the time for the new laptop computer.
Of course we don t know how did you use your laptop, what additional software you installed and how you configured OS so in my opinion, better than you can do now is to back up all important data and install the OS by using original Toshiba recovery image.

After doing this you will own preinstalled OS and everything should be OK again. Please test a few days without changes and post comments.

  • laptop very slow 8 minutes at startup!

I wonder if anyone can help,

IHAVE a very serious slowdown in my computer, it takes 8 minutes to start, and it is quite slow to start a program after that. This is an inspiron 1520 laptop Windows xp purchased in January, do not know where to find the version number if it is important.

I ran avg scan, scan scan symantec, mcafee and others from the dell Web site, and there were no viruses, Trojans, etc. found so I assume it's just a performance problem, there are 57 services that run under the system configuration utility services tab.

under the Startup tab, there is: -.

    SynTPEnh

  • Tecra R10 - 14 c - very slow start

    Hi all

I have Tecra R10 - 14 c and with software recover Windows Vista Business 32-bit all the time when I turn on the laptop, it takes a long time (from 15 to 25 m) to start Windows, comes in turn on laptop. But when I restart Windows Notepad is normal startup.

I try to install Windows Vista via the HD in Toshiba recovery software and the same problem. The problem when put after stopping, but reboot is normal startup and very quickly.

    Please help me

    Hey Buddy,

If you start the computer after turning off your laptop hangs on a certain point? What is exactly different for restart?

For Windows it's not important if you stop or restart the computer that of the same. I can only imagine the laptop hangs on the Toshiba BIOS screen, is this correct?

  • Satellite L300 - very slow start and freezes

    Hi all

I have a Satellite L300, who treated me well - but more 2 months ago really slow and freezes quite often. I have anti virus, spybot etc and come up with nothing.

Last night I tried to reformat the system by pressing 0 did not work so tried with F8 which I would like to make a longer scan but no reformatting. I am now very happy that I failed to do the reformat because I bought windows 7 after the initial purchase of the laptop.

Any ideas anyone - or any person with same/simular problems?

    Hey,.

This means that you have installed right now and not preinstalled version of Windows Windows 7?

Well, in this case HARD drive recovery option is no longer available. You can do it on preinstalled only Windows.

To format your laptop, you need Toshiba recovery disc.
    Did you create it?

  • Laptop very slow - g6-2245ea Pavilion

    Hello

My laptop Pavilion g6-2245ea began to run very slowly, even in the simplest tasks. I was hoping to get some advice on an upgrade.

It has a processor 1.7 ghz with 8 GB RAM and running windows 8. Which of them should be upgraded or should I update them both?

Its mainly used for browsing the internet, look at pictures and to watch the occasional DVD, everything it's painfully slowly.

8 GB is most RAM, you can put in it and the upgrade of the processor is not practical. Indeed, the CPU is soldered to the motherboard, so an upgrade would require buying a motherboard and processor. The E2-1800 AMD is not very strong, but you're kind of stuck with it. But the real bottleneck in the system is pokey hard drive 5400 RPM. The upgrade of choice these days is a disk hard solid state. For your uses the SSD will do everything much faster. Start time will be reduced to 15-20 seconds, applications and web pages, open "pop." You have to see it and once you have used a laptop with an SSD you'll never go back.

    It is the repair:

    Manual

See Page 44 for the hard drive replacement instructions. This is a 256 GB SSD for $115.

  • My computer has a very slow start up. How can I fix it?

I had my computer HP Desktop for 4 years, and in the past months, my computer is slow when starting. It is the Windows Logo screen for a few minutes, then a black screen for a few minutes before cranking up my office. It works fine the rest of the time (so sometimes I think more memory is used, it should be.)

    I did the following:
-Do you have the Startup Repair. Nothing wrong was found.
-J' have a more complete McAfee subscription. No malware or viruses. Even clean fast ups.
-Used the Microsoft Malware removal tool with an analysis complete. Scanned my whole computer and found nothing.
-J' took the startup programs I didn't want to start a long time ago. It's only about 8 programs.
Last thing I want / need to do is a defagmintation by car, but I don't think he'll do much.
I did the scan with the command prompt. He finds errors and could not correct. I don't know how to find out what are these errors, or even how to fix them if I could.
Basically, I did everything I can possibly think and does everything that I've seen in researching this issue. I really need help. I think that my computer can start and run a lot faster then it is now.

    2. If you hasitate by running the built-in Windows disk defrag, what would you say to install a 3rd party called Auslogics defrag program.
    a. it's free.
    (b) it takes about 20 minutes, max.
    c. it allows you to choose which drive you want to defragment.

  • Satellite U940 Windows 10 update, very slow start to the top

    Hello

It looks after upgrade to win10, the SSD is not used to quickly boot up the laptop.
How can this problem be solved?

In tools, defragment disc, it shows all of my partitions as SSD drive so I can't defragment.
Why are they displayed as SSD? I think that the basic motivation is a 500 gb HHD and only a 32 GB SSD is included.

Also in the management of the computer disk SSD drive shows only 11.22 GB of capacity and is not used (all 11.22 GB free)

Help, please. I want to get the quick start of the win8.1 and at the same time be able to defragment my HARD drive.
