HP 2710p - stop connection to disable wifi wired

I have 2 different laptops that I use for work. Both need to connect to our company via WiFi network but I need - also - to connect to a private network back via ethernet (for management remotely via RDP). Both use Windows 7 Ultimate (the Lenovo is 64-bit, the HP 32-bit). It works on a single machine (Lenovo Thinkpad T61p) and not the other (HP 2710p).

On the Thinkpad, it works. I assigned the wired connection (become) an IP address static with no gateway and then connected to the wifi as usual. Perfect. I have a Gigabit ethernet connection to RDP with this machine.

On the HP 2710p, whenever the ethernet is plugged it disconnects from the wifi until the ethernet is unplugged. He also did this on the 2710p when I had Windows XP on it before.

I guess it's because of something with the driver on the HP trying to be "smart" about how it happens. Anyone know where the parameter can be disabling this feature?

PS. 2710p wifi is the Intel 4965AG and ethernet Intel 82566 MM.

Hello:

Refer to the system (BIOS) configuration guide in your service manual to change the setting, so it will not disable the wireless, an ethernet cable is plugged. You must disable the LAN/WLAN change. See Chapter 5, page 78 for where this setting can be found in the menu setup.

    Hello

My laptop has stopped to connect to my home wireless network, a week ago.

When trying to connect it says 'unable to connect to the network', or connects for a few seconds change a limited State, then falls down. (no assigned IP address) When we look at the WiFi adapter network adapters screen turns off during the disconnection then re-active.

I tried to connect to the other connections wifi with the same result.

    Steps:

    Reinstalled wifi drivers
Tried to use an adapter USB WiFi (same result)
removed the networking features in win 8, added again.
Updating of windows 8 back to factory default.

Can anyone suggest where this problem could be?

    Hello

Like you had the same problem using the external USB WiFi dongle, I don t think that this WiFi problem is related to internal Wlan card.
I guess that the question could be related to the combination of WiFi card and router Wlan.

I recommend you to reset the settings of the router.
Reconfigure the router and don t of first set encryption. It's just for testing purposes. It would be interesting to know if it would be possible to connect to the open Wlan.

The next step: disable the TCP/IPv6 protocol in the network settings to use only the old TCP/IPv4 protocol and wireless.

Next step: update the ip address by using the command: + ipconfig / renew.
(in search, type CMD to start the console and here you can use this command)

Next step: disable the firewall and check the settings possible antivirus. Some antivirus software may affect the connectivity.

  • HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-one: printer stopped connecting to the wifi network

Hi, my printer has suddenly stopped detecting my wireless network. When I turn on the printer, wireless blue light continues to blink and there is an exclamation point on the screen of the printer. I still have the same wifi network as before and have not changed it or its parameters. I have not physically moved the printer and the wireless works fine for all computers, iPads, and phones.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the HP Utility Set Up software but it couldn't detect the printer to set up.  I also tried running the diagnostic results, but all the results, said 'Not work', 'Not applicable' or 'None'. I can't even an IP address for my printer.

My laptop can detect the printer if I turn on the wireless Direct button and I connect to this network on my laptop, but that's all. I'd rather connect the printer to the wifi so I can print from all my devices (phone, iPad etc.). The printer is less than 6 months and I do not understand what is the problem with him. Can you please specify?

    Hey @Sue1990,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that the all-in-one printer Deskjet 2540 does not connect to your wireless network. I can help you with that.

To connect the printer to your network again you will need to run the USB cable from the printer to your computer Mac OS x 10.7. This makes the open Applications, Hewlett-Packard and inside this folder you will find a program with a similar name to the installation wizard. If you run this program, then you will find options to connect your printer to your wireless network.

Please let me know how it works for you and let me know if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful evening!

  • Omen of HP 15: Wifi stop working. Win10 shows only a single network and it connects to the WiFi

    Hi guys,.
Since a few days my wifi stopped working.
If I click the Wifi icon it shows only a SINGLE NETWORK (two maximum), but not mine!

And I live in a building of 20 + networks, as you can see on the WiFi Analyzer (I'm the only red to the right)

If I reactive / disable Wifi with fn + f12, it goes back in plane and Wifi mode mode and sees it eventually all networks:

My Wifi is on top. If it is registered, Windows connects to it and then she abandons the connection; If it is not registered, and I try to connect, it says "you are not able to connect to this network.
Is fun is that after a few seconds, each network disappears and alone is shown (probably the one next door... I don't know).

I already tried to RESET the laptop MATERIAL by keeping the power button for 10-15 seconds with the laptop is turned off.
I tried to follow these instructions (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04649175) updated drivers (Intel 18.12.0.3, 18.12.1.2, 18.30.0.9 [10 default Windows], 18.32.0 [last drivers]) without success. Whenever I have install a new driver, I uninstalled the earlier software Wireless + restart.

I tried to uncheked "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" on my settings of Wifi hardware without success.

HP network support said that I did not choose a Wifi (really? The problem is that I do not see my Wifi on the list!).

This is unrelated to a new 10 Windows upgrade since I installed it months ago and this is the first time I have this problem :/ It has always worked

    I tried different settings too:
I changed the channel, I put 802.11 g on my router, APSD off on the router.
I put "Magic off packet, QoS ad hoc off, U-APSD off, fat wide channel, differential flow mode HT off" on the creation of the map without success. Nothing chaned.

The hardware test detects any failure.

Important note: If I close the router, it shows my network connection with full power and he connects to it. Then I come back in my room (probably 3/4 meters away), it MAINTAINS the connection for 30 / 40 min and he drops the connection and I cannot reconnect to it more. It has always worked perfectly in my room during these months (I bought it in March 2015), so the distance is not a problem, I'm 6 / 7 m away from the router.
In this case, it shows my network (connected) and the nearby... and the other 20 networks +?

The only way I have is USB tethering with my Nexus 5.

Linux: I tried the WiFi on Freya elementary (Ubuntu linux OS base) and it displays 20 + networks available on the list. He has not the connection problem with my Wifi, but sometimes it stops working, Web pages stop loading and I have to restart Wifi to reconnect to the it (usually after 30/40 min of use it).

What is the problem? My Wifi card is broken? Should I call Italian support or if you have any suggestions?

    WAWood,
    I took a risk.
I did a factory restore with recovery HP (I have a drive dedicated for her)... and it worked!
I had to switch from Win8.1 to 10, but the Wifi problem is solved!

I'm still guessing that was the problem...

Now, I'm under Intel drivers 18.30.0.9 worm and all the networks work.

In the next few days I'm checking the linux problem (reset deleted primary partition).

  • Dial-up connections - turn off WiFi on Wired connect with docking station

Question: Do auto switch without Wired WiFi user interaction and back at Wired.
Example - user leaves office/docking station with LAN wired to a meeting on WiFi then returned to their office/dock. Laptop can hit "sleep mode" on these steps as well.

I am mobile Dell to Lenovo and new to AC - so far unsuccessfully disable WiFi on Wired connect. It is a breeze with Intel PROset + "adapter switching" and can be done manually with the Wifi of Dell drivers ('disable on Wired connect'). I assumed that Thinkvantage Access Conentions would be actually more robust than these. Should we simply use PROset even if it is not supplied with systems or is available for download for Lenovo T-Series? PROset method - http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-028815.htm

Work to achieve this goal as a policy managed for multiple computers. AC is superb, but wish it had this parameter as Intel PROset.

Hi Tpad - rex, welcome to the forums,

Please take a look in the settings of the profile in the dial-up connections. (Select the profile and choose Edit profile). In the profile, you must have two maps showing; LAN and WLAN, make sure that the LAN exceed the WLAN in the priority list. I'm guessing you got it the other way around, you may set up there in a WLAN connection first?

  • How to disable wifi auto connect?

I have the edition pure moto x 2014. 1 day, it always automatically turns on wifi. I turn off several times a day. I can walk town with my wifi off, and turns on and try to connect to the nearest unprotected networks.

I tried many settings and cannot find a way to keep him from doing this. It's annoying to navigation or by using an application that uses data and then it stops working because my phone has tried to connect to the wifi.

If the problem is gone in safe mode, so I did some research to applications that can be the cause of the problem. It ends up being the Straight Talk app 'my account '. I uninstalled it and the problem disappeared.

  • Can not disable "automatically connect" option on WIFI connections

What I think is really strange or normal.

I have windows 8 on my laptop and a wireless adapter Inter Centrino N-2230.

Recently, all the WIFI connections that appear as available have the option "auto-connect" checked. I uncheck the box, but they will be automatically checked again.  I don't know that previously, all wifi connections before the box unchecked by default.

However, this is NOT the case with the WiFi one, I mainly use, IE my home cable connection. I can uncheck the option for this one and it remains disabled. Weird.

I'm a bit worried that if I use my laptop near an unsecured connection, it will automatically connect to it without my knowing which resulted in security problems.

No idea if it's a problem and how to solve?

    Thank you

I guess all the machines of boredom that are automatically connect using Intel PROSet Wireless Tools.  Simple fix.

    Go to the control panel.

Type Wireless in the search panel.

If Intel PROSet Wireless Tools is an option up until it clicks (so you can have another problem)

Under the Intel Wifi HotSpot Wizard option, click settings

Uncheck the box to automatically connect to free WiFi Hotspots.

    Click on close

    Your DONE!

Problem solved unless you do not use Intel PROSet Wireless tools.

  • Why my iphone4s connects to my wifi? He stopped abruptly. The switch has greed out and will not go.

WWhy won't my iPhone 4s to connect to my wifi at home? The button is grayed out and will not go.

It is often an indication of a hardware failure. Try to restore it in DFU mode and set up as a new device. (do not restore the backup again. This is a test)

If that doesn't fix it, make an appointment at the genius bar to your Apple store. You will need to either replace, or buy a new phone.

  • Troubleshooting-new HP with Windows 7 spectrum XT, does not connect to the WiFi at home?

So I just got my brand new HP ENVY spectrum XT Ultrabook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. 64 bit. I start it, everything works fine, except that when I connect to my WiFi at home. I tried to connect, entered my password, but it does not connect. Also tried the easy connection on the router. No luck. I checked my old laptop which runs on Windows Vista to see if WiFi worked always, and this is where it gets interesting. I was able to browse the internet and internet worked, but suddenly Windows informed me that "another computer uses the same IP address" and it stops my internet capabilities on my old laptop. I connected my cable ethernet on both computers, and it works for both computers when it is plugged. While that plugged, I discovered that I could create my own IP address, which I did on my old laptop and so far that seems to have solved the problem. However, my DESIRE is always not connecting to WiFi. Any advice?

    Hi ZachRhodes3,

    ·         You get the error message?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

  • iPhone 6 does not connect to some wifi routers

    Hi gurus of the Forum.

I hope someone can help with this weird wifi problem I have on an iPhone 6. The phone is running iOS 9.2.1 (latest version) and I'm in the United Kingdom. The phone has been connected to my home router, which is a Hub of sky and works well, I hung up for 5 minutes and then went back to it and the wifi connection was gone. I tried to reconnect and he would not find the router. I've tried everything to fix the problem but no luck. Now here's the weird thing in the household, we have another iPhone 6 (iOS 9.2.1), a 5 s iPhone (iOS 9.2.1), 2 x iPads, MacBook Air, and all these have no problem of wireless connection to the router (Sky hub) and connect to the internet.

In my investigations (using neighbor routers, public routers, etc.), I discovered that the phone does not detect blank sky hubs hubs, hubs of Talk Talk, an iPhone 6 set up as a personal hotspot. Wifi looking for networks but not found. However, the phone WILL find and connect to networks and hubs BT so I know that the phone's wifi works perfectly OK.

To try to solve the problem, I did the following: -.

1 reset the phone (hold down Home and Power)

    2 reset the router

3 reset the 'network settings' on the phone.

4 erased the phone and set up as a new phone (still will not find the router)

    5 restore an old backup.

6 disabled 'assistance to wifi '.

7 disabled "wifi network" under the heading Privacy > sites > System Services.

8A tried to manually enter the SSID and password of the router on the phone.

    9. manually entered the device and wifi MAC address of the router

    10. banged my head against a brick wall - has not helped and I had a sore :-) head

So in my opinion, I tried everything what can be done to solve this problem, but nothing helped, so I come to the community to beg for help.

I read something about iOS 9.2.1 having wifi problems, but I will reiterate, the phone was working fine and then stopped without reason. I have also other phones running 9.2.1 with no problems.

Please help as my head becomes painful overall hit.

Thank you very much in anticipation

    Steve

PS please don't waste your time and your mine responds telling me to do the things that I've done - thanks.

    Hello

Anyone have any ideas? I am all of them.

    Thank you

  • iPhone connects to the wifi but does not connect to internet

I have an iPhone running iOS 9.3.2 6s (last updated).

The phone connects to the wifi network, but even if it's to show the signal strength is good, the phone does not charge any internet content (weather, FaceBook, email, etc.).  If I disconnect WiFi and use the data, it works very well.  We have no problem connecting to the computer or a smart TV network wifi and internet connection.

This also happens with my daughter 5s iPhone and iPad for my son.

Sometimes it will work fine on wifi, then a little while later I can't get anything to load. And it can be like right now when I'm at home alone is not as if there's a big load on our wifi.

We have high-speed internet by cable (25 MB/s download speed) and a router Lynksys EA3500.  Encryption is set to WPA (not WEP).

I tried to go into my phone settings and reset the network.  Always problems.

It's really frustrating because you eventually switch to our mobile data and use it instead of our data ' wifi '.  And then to go on our data on our phone plan

Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) perform a forced reboot: hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Leave the device to reboot.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes (ask for more details if you wish).

    (9) go to the Apple Store for the evaluation of the material.

  • How to change the connection to a wifi network?

    PIC - developer preview
I entered a wrong connection when connecting the first time to the network, I can not understand how to change it.

    Hi Olivvv,

Thank you for your question about Firefox OS! You can remove the network (and the credentials you entered in this first time) as follows:

    1. go to settings > WiFi

    2. scroll the advanced settings and press the button 'manage media '.

    3. press the button "forget network".

Alternatively, you can type the network name in the list on the screen of WiFi and tap Forget in the upper right.

    4. then, you want to enable / disable WiFi, find your network of your choice and enter the credentials again.

Let me know if you need more help,

  • iPad does not connect to the Wifi on the range 192.168.0. *.

I have an iPad Mini (ME860BA) on os 9.3.1 that would not connect to my wifi at home.  He began to abandon their studies repeatedly a few months before and then just wouldn't connect at all.  It is on the os 9.3 so I upgraded to 9.3.1 but it did not help.  I was able to connect using a hotspot from my phone but no go on the real wifi. Sometimes it seems impossible to connect and others it seems to connect but without the wifi icon that appear (and internet access). All other devices connect to the House without exception (or question) - it's just my iPad.

I followed every bit of advice I've found - turning wifi off & on, forgetting network, reset all the network settings, hard reboot, reboot normal, turning airplane mode turn off again, go up the brightness of the screen (odd) and finally I restored my router and the iPad to factory settings.  Nothing worked, so I took him to a store of Apple and waiting for the genius to see me I thought I would try to connect to the wifi and it went all right!  I felt a little silly to start with but they still took a look and said that he had 'something' bad, but they didn't know what.  Their best guess was that it was something to do with password authentication because they are client wifi has no password.  I returned home and disabled the security mode of the router - I have a Virgin Superhub running the 2.4 and 5 GHz primary wireless networks - no amount of adjusting the security modes (remove the password, make visible SSID, change of Protocol) makes all the difference.  However, knowing that it worked on wifi from Apple in the store, I was really puzzled.

After ages bother with different parameters (especially in my router), I now know why it does not connect to home... My Virgin router to short on a range of address DHCP IP of 192.168. 0. * and my iPad suddenly won't connect unless the beach is 192.168. 1. * or higher.  (It connected OK for 2 years).  It took weeks to find this out, but at least now I can connect.  I turned on the wifi of comments because it uses the gamme.1.  Everything is good, connects the first time, every time!  I have not tried establishing a password (I was so happy, it connected I left because it was... well as I switch on the MAC filtering, for a little extra protection) I could try side password later and if it still connect, I'll update my post.

My solution is very well when I'm at home but is not going to help if I get the iPad with me - it will be hit & miss if I can get the WiFi also.  Must be set correctly - I see no that it is hardware related, so there must be a bug in the software/firmware.

Anyone having problems connecting to wifi can try the workaround network comments - at least it will get you.

Is there a future fix for this?

Re: iPad wifi suddenly does not save

Change the range on the router you want to connect to.

  • HP Deskjet 3055 A does not connect to the WIFI with security

I'm trying to configure a Deskjet 3055 A on my DD - WRT router.  I am a highly qualified network engineer, so I don't know 100% what I'm doing.

First, DD - WRT supports WPS connection, because these are very precarious.  This means that my only way to connect the pritner to my home network is to connect to my PC and use the Setup utility (downloaded from your page drivers) I use the 28.8 version.

My router supports the 2.4 and 5 GHz and I know the printer is only 2.4 GHz.  I disabled completely the 5 GHz network in order to connect the printer, even though it shouldn't have any effect.

I restarted my router and reset the printers wireless network using its integrated control panel.

In any case, after a shameful 2 hours troubleshooting, I did discover that the printer WILL NOT CONNECT to the WIFI network if any security is applied against it.  It works 100% fine with open security however, it is totally unacceptable.

I tried both WPA Personal and WPA2 Personal, both with the same effect.

For reasons to try, I added also the printer to my network WIFI open and tried to manually change the setting WIFI via webinterface of printers, however, whenever I try and access the wireless configuration wizard, I simply get an error message saying "Internal system error" - eventually I managed to work around this another bug that has been there for years (see http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Internal-System-Error-prevents-access-t...

After installing printers web interface WIFI, the problem is always the same and it does not connect.

HP, we were in the order of 2500 of these printers for users of our remote site.  If you don't come to the top with a quick solution/bug fixed, consider the lost business!

    Concerning

    Ian

After playing well, I managed to find a solution for this!

For all users who are unable to find a solution by using the other methods, here's what to do.

Change your local network to open the safe but note your WIFI settings for your default installation.

Connect the printer to the open network the HP software (via USB cable)

Go to the URL of the printer, but make sure that you connect through HTTPS - if you get an internal system error, keep refreshing until it works (WHAT A JOKE!)

Click on 'Network', then click 'Advanced' on the left.

Enter the network settings as they need to be secured.

Downstairs, check "in an infrastructure network, use 802. 11b / g behavior (assuming that your assisted supports g, otherwise use the b only option), then click on apply.

Turn on your wireless security, on your router and then the printer should connect!

I am really confused as to why this is not automatically enabled, if the printer is not working with security on a Wireless N network wireless, then have this as the default!

HP - feel free to thank me in this post!
