HP 3050 all in one J611

I bought this printer Tuesday. I installed it successfully on my computer (Vista) yesterday. Today, I tried to provide my wife printing capability (XP) computer. Obtained to the extent of the "enter the IP address" or some such on the computer that told me the computer would be showing on the screen of the printer. It wasn't - everything what is display Scan-Copy-Quickforms, the blue light blinks and I can't connect and print from my own computer any more, although I could yesterday. I bought a missed? I'm in my 70's and not very good with technobabble, but I got works well from my own computer yesterday. What should I do now? Take it back to the shop where I bought it for a refund or can someone help? Greetings - RichardTeign

PS surprised that a company the size of HP that values no doubt its reputation doesn't seem to provide a question online and typed answer assistance service with a support person in the way that so many companies are doing these days.

Thanks for the help - you're right - I finally found my way (more, I think that, by chance than a progression that is structured through the HP site) to a helpful young man in HP that me sorted. Maybe I'm used to it, I'll be able to find my way on the HP Web site more easily. at the moment I am not convinced that its designers had needs of dodderers old like me in mind.     I have a printer HP deskjet 3050 all-in-one series J610 which I use with Windows Vista Version 6.0 (Build 6006: Service pack 2).  The connection is by USB port.  I have not used the printer for a while, but did all the maintence checks & it's good to go.  When I want to print a letter the only thing that is printed is the e-mail address that is blue in color.  I think the problem is in the settings of the features of the printer.  I can print the letter in gray scale, but it is not easy to read and is not suitable for business relationships.

    I would appreciate help with this problem.  A definition of the terms used in the features of the printer can help me to solve it in myself.

    HP Printer Wizard does not open in HP 3050 All In One J610 series after installing new ink cartridges.  Uninstalled and reinstalled printer software from HP website.  Printer Wizard will not always be open.  Using Windows 7.

    I understand the Printer Wizard does not work for you. I will try to completely uninstall the software and reinstall with updated drivers.

    I do not know what measures you already tried, then where I write it double now let know.

    First of all, check that scan from the HP Scan software on your Mac up and running.

    Can also open the HP utility (whether in the Dock or in the Applications/Hewlett-Packard folder). On the bottom, you will find the scan settings section and the computer Scan-to-option.     A few weeks before Christmas, and all seemed well after that I installed it, I bought this printer. I have printed about 100 pages on startup ink, before he asked me to replace black ink. The cart moves around, but then gets stuck on the left side.     Thanks Samierus, I ended up coming back to where I bought it and they had extended the date of return policy so that I was able to negotiate it. I picked the Photosmart 6510, and hope for best results.

    It's a real pain and I think to get rid of my printer without wire-HELP!

    I.D. service: unknown

    I.W Version: unknown

    Serial number: unknown

    I am new to Mac and not very techno, however I seem to have solved this problem myself.

    I think that after turning to 'Maverick' on my Mac OS Lion, duplicate the printer as 2 showed in 'utility '.

    "I basically deleted that was not'online ' or 'connected '.

  • DeskJet 3050 all-in-One J610A series will not print an alignment page

    I have owned this printer for a year and a half and have had little problems with it. When I inserted a new ink cartridge, it wouldn't print an alignment page. The display shows "load plain white paper on tray and press OK", I did. When I pressed OK, it says "printing" but made no sounds and nothing print. I tried the reset of the printer, the printer and the print spooler reset, cleaning, but nothing works. I can print other documents, but he always wonder to print a page of alignment first of all, that it refuses to print. I am at one loss for what else to do. Help?

    My first thought would be to do a firmware update, but there is not an update for this printer.  It is not really a power problem since you are able to print any other documents.

    You could try a reset by unplugging the power cord directly from the back of the printer when the printer is always on, and then disconnect the other end of the power cord.  Wait a minute and plug the power cord directly into a wall socket (not a surge protector or battery backup) and then again in the printer.

    If there is no change, you might take a look at the following links and if you see a step not taken, that give a try.
