  • Wireless button remains orange. Lights on.

Hi there, I'm having some problems with my laptop recently. The wireless won't turn on no and stays out of little matter how many times I press the button of the wireless switch which is above the keyboard, remaining always this color orange relics indicating that the wireless is disabled.

Number and name of the product: Compaq Presario CQ50-215 - 215 CA

Operating system: Windows Vista 32 - bit OEM

(As appropriate) error message : error no. a little. First time I press the wireless button, the popup Assistant wireless HP says "WLAN: Off '. I have a second time and wrote "WLAN: Disabled" and the cycle repeats when I press on it a bunch of times.

Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred: that's what I think the problem is a few days before my wireless doesn't work anymore, I had my battery disconnected and just running off the AC adapter. My father accidentally disconnected my AC while it was spend vacuuming the living room. At the STATION, I got a cmos checksum error message. Computer started normally with an incorrect time/date in the bios, but at the time when internet was still functioning. Fast forward to a few days later, my wireless and then stops working.

    Other info/Thins, I tried

-J' I goto manage network connections-> there is a red x on my wireless network connection icon but on click right he said he his 'active' with only the option to disable. Click on diagnose and he said: "on this computer's wireless capability is turned off."

-J' I goto the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi adapter properties screen and the device status says "this device is working properly.

-I go into the Device Manager and theres no "!" or whatever it is on my network cards.

-Tried to get into the bios and see if there was something on my adapter wireless that has been disabled, but the only thing I could find was an option in the boot order allowing to map internal network starts when the laptop starts. Tried to activate / deactivate options, and nothing really happened.

-I can still take an ethernet cable and I work ok on my Wired internet.

-Tried to uninstall the driver/restart the computer. Upon restart, it reinstalled the drivers but the wireless still won't turn.

At this point, for me, it seems that it is a hardware problem and kinda outta luck. Had this laptop about 3 years and a little really need yet for the school. Can anyone suggest what I can still check/fix?

  • Satellite A110 - wireless button no longer works

    Hello

I turned on my computer (laptop A110) to find that it could not detect my wireless network or my network lan, I have implemented this and it worked without problem for a while.
    There are two problems.

(1E) the wireless switch is turned on and turned on but the computer thinks that it is not. also the f8 key doesn't seem to work, the hard switch replaces it because I don't know where there are 2 buttons that seem to do the same job.

2nd) even if the Wireless does not work the local network must, it has in the past, even if I have the strange situation that I need to turn off the PC market so that it can detect it. Now it's not automatically detect it which it should do a the Wireless does not work.

Please help me with any of these problems.
I already checked the internet through virgin and the wireless router to work as my mobile phone can connect to the internet through the same connection. Also, I was playing around with my cell phone last night then it is possible to stop the work laptop wireless?

    Help, please.
    Thanks in advance

This along with the LAN is really strange. I use Toshiba laptop computers for years and I know that there is not a special switch for activating/deactivating the LAN card and by default, it is still on.
In theory, when you connect your laptop to the local network using the Green LAN LAN cable led will immediately WE. Laptop computer should recognize the connection to the local network and has orange LED start flashing.

What you can try is to start ConfigFree and check the status. ConfigFree tool also gives you total control on LAN/WLAN devices so you can turn on or off the it.

Check it all and play around with the settings ConfigFree.

  • Wireless button

I have a HP G60-519WM laptop.  The wireless connection is turned off. He tells me to "use the switch on the front of the computer, or the function keys, if it is available to turn on wireless on this computer.»  I can't find this switch or button anywhere. I don't know how it was shot off the coast because it is not my laptop, he's my boyfriend. One day, he worked the next day, he doesn't.

    Hello

Just look for the symbol of the antenna wireless next to the power he touches self or you can check the F12 there could be your wireless button.

    Using the wireless button
The computer has a wireless one button or several wireless devices and one or two lamps wireless.
Depending on the model. All wireless computer devices are activated at the factory, so that the
Wireless light is on (blue) when you turn on the computer.
The wireless light indicates the overall status of your wireless devices, not the status of person in power
devices. If the wireless light is blue, at least a wireless device is turned on. If the wireless light is disabled, all the
    wireless devices are turned off.
NOTE: On some models, the wireless light is orange when wireless devices are turned off.

  • Problem with Y550 Wireless: Wireless button does nothing

Got this Y550 (used), a few days ago. When I got there, the wifi worked well. Then it stopped working, I reinstalled Windows 7 (Lenovo recovery CD), then every time I turn on the wireless button, it just does nothing. No wifi signal, it's like a dummy button. Here's what I've tried so far:

    1) updated the driver and BIOS (Intel Wifi link 5100 AGN)

    (2) for configuration towards the top of my network and sharing Center, and whenever I tried troubleshooting, it says 'enable wireless function '.

It's as if everything doesn't work anymore. The laptop says stil it's under warranty, but I don't know if I can do anything with the guarantee (second user).

My other lenovo G550 has the same problem. But it is always connected to the wired router, but still, I would like to know what is the problem and how to fix them. I searched the forum for Y550 wireless problem, but has not really helped. Should I change the wireless card, on each of them? Thanks in advance

  • Pavilion DV6 6c14nr: Wireless button does not work

Has taken the plung and improved my DV6 Win10 laptop to see how it works.  Had to do a clean install, because no upgrade would not work.

After installation, the wireless button does not work.  LED stays red all the time, and when I push it, it activates / deactivates the airplane mode.

Check the support site HP for this PC, downloaded and installed the driver wireless Win8 button (sp59835) and it does not work. Button LED stays red.

Searched these forums and found another driver (sp64043) from the button for Win10 wireless driver and installed it.  Still does not work.

    Information on equipment is: ACPI\HPQ6001\2 & daba3ff & 0

The details for the wireless button said drivers this devide requires additional installation

Unless I can get the wireless button to work, I'll be forced to go back to Win7.

    Help, please.

UPDATED - so others find this post know what works!

    Restored image backup Win7.

Disconnected the LAN cable and activated the wireless button.

Win7 removed and properly installed Win10.

    Wireless button works NOW!

So basically, if the wireless is turned off before the Win10 install, it remains disabled and then nothing will allow it.

  • HP Envy Touchsmart: Failure on Envy laptop wireless adapter

I tried to do the following in the suggested troubleshooting tips.   I opened a run prompt and type cmd.   I raised my privileges "Run as Administrator".    The open window with administrator: command prompt at the top of the page and followed steps 2 and 3.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your departure

the screen menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

However, this is the result I got.     Even if I ran as administrator, he gave me an access denied message.

    C:\Windows\System32>netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
    Global delivery, OK!
    Reset the Interface, OK!
    Neighbor reset, OK!
    Path reset, OK!
    Reset, failed.
    Access is denied.

    Reset, OK!
Restart the computer to complete this operation.

Why my computer tells me that access is denied when I run this function recommended as an administrator?

This laptop will remain not connected to the internet.   Every 2-3 minutes that I have to turn off Wi - Fi and reconnect and then it will work for some time before she starts giving me messages 'server not found '.

I reinstalled the wireless driver and the wireless button pilot.

    Hi @dberkley ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked into your problem on your laptop and get HP ENVY with wireless connections. Here is a link for the wireless connection troubleshooting.

I would use the network of Windows 8 and resolution of the problems of the Internet section.

I looked for a solution for this and that they indicate on the forums that if you change the channel of the router on a different channel, that might solve the connection problem.

You could disable IPv6 for the laptop. Some say this helps.

Solve this problem Microsoft Fix it 50413 here is a link to help as well.

Make sure that all of your windows updates have been supported and discovered on the network.

    Hope it will be useful.

    Thank you.
