  Since I installed OSx El Capitan, I had intermittent problems with the USB ports to connect to my HP LaserJet printer. I first thought that the older printer was not compatible with the new OSx software, so I've just upgraded to a new HP LaserJet Pro 400 M451dw. same results and the computer is not even connect to the printer. The number of post detailing a similar problem, I would hope that apple now had a fix for this problem...

  Tried to print something today - once more the computer cannot connect to the printer. Printer is always connected. No parameters had changed since I got it to work.

  Why is this happening! I need to print things! Very close to giving up. However, I doubt that I will get a refund of HarveyNorman, because when they test it out it will connect, and that's enough for them not to say 'no refund '. Ugh.

  PS: when I download itunes, quicktime is not installed for some reason any.  Also my anti-virus could be a problem when I download itunes?

  To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.
   
  To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself).   When connected to a computer via the usb - B to usb at the back of the device connection, computers do not get a signal telling them that they are connected to anything. The computer windows 7 behaves as there is nothing plugged and a Mac running 10.9.5 simply gives the error message "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer. When I try to download the drivers for the device manually, the installation of HP can't find the printer in the devices, even when it is plugged. Both computers have been restarted, several cables (who work for other printers and are located in the length of HP limit) are the same exact behavior.

  Solution has been found, windows 7 update, but a driver do not go along, while some things have worked when it is plugged. HP partner, effects no side windows just weird.

  For those who read this topic after googling their problems: updated all the drivers. EACH OF THEM.

  I can print wireless from my computer.   I can directly scan from my printer for paper output.   What I can't do is to scan from my computer (IE Word, HP SCAN...) in a document.    I was able to do a few weeks ago and know nothing of this happned to make change.

  New system, 27 "envy tilted, the keyboard does not work. new replacement shipped by HP keyboard is also non-functional. So I guess the question is with computer, no keyboard. Pls advise on this a driver problem or a hardware problem.

  The dongle does not synchronize with the keyboard, only with the mouse, even when the button 'reset' blue on the keyboard has been held down various lengths of seconds. A new keyboard/mouse/dongle synched did the trick. The dongle attaches behind the access panel on the back of the tilt on the internal USB port for this purpose.  Nothing wrong with tilt, down.
