HP 8710: HP 8710

Our new HP 8710 is wired on the PC.  He sometimes not print.  Attempts to clear the print queue of the printer are unsuccessful; the item cannot be deleted or reset.  It used to be that the computer and printer active the item to remove, but those do not help now.  Printing files are not unusual; they are usually Word or email.  The printer can scan and will be printed in the copy mode.

There is a firmware update available, this link will allow to download a firmware file. (see section Firmware )

    Hi @dorcase,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed your post that you found the error fax 346 with your HP Officejet 8710 printer all-in-one. I'm happy to help you!

This error means that the remote machine (person you send) responded to a fax on the local computer command because the connection has been lost. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the region to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the telephone line). Other reasons can include power outages and other problems related to food.

New attempt to receive faxes when telephone line conditions improved. Call phone provider if the driving conditions fail to improve.

  • 5660 envy: Envy 5660, OfficeJet 8710 and 8720: they can print documents from a thumb drive USB connected?

ENVY 5660 e-all-in-one printer can print documents (for example, .doc files) from a USB connected to its USB port?

Similarly, can the Pro OfficeJet 8710 or 8720 print documents from a USB connected to its USB port?

    Thank you

    DaleBr

    Hi DaleBr,

Any printer PCL3 as the Officejet Pro 8710, 8720 support only Photos of pritning from a USB (JPEG and BMP), it cannot print the document files such as ir PDF DOCX to a thumbdriver, but only to a computer...

The HP Envy 5660 only support printing Photos from a device memory too, but only from SD card, there are not any USB port for a USB.

None of the models above can only print from a computer or a mobile device...

8730 Officejet Pro which is a postscript printer to print PDF, Word and Powerepoint support files directly from a USB (Latin characters), however it is a commercial product and cost more as such:

  • Inkjet HP AIO 8710: guarantee Date is not Correct

    I bought a HP AIO 8710 BJ 16 June 2016.

When I put the serial number and model in the warrany review page, it shows security as 1 January 2016 start date and due date was March 2, 2017 which is obviously incorrect.  He goes several months off the coast of the coverage.

This date how do I get this far on the road there is not a problem?

Thank you. I was able to reset the date on my own by going and by subscribing to the printer. Apparently, they use the ship or manufacture date as the default warranty start date.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8710: HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 print do not tried HP Print and Scan Doctor

    Hello HP Forum,

I'm new and have read many articles on printing does not. I had this printer yesterday and I was so excited to use it! When came home... DOH! Nothing prints not! So, I used the print and Scan doctor and that fixed it... temporarily. Now it won't print and print and scan doctor said nothing! I printed something this morning, but I saw a mistake, then I went to print it again, nothing would have uttered. I'm getting a little angry that I (May) have lost $170 on this thing.

I could really use some help please! If not, I just lost $170 on this thing.

My system is Windows 10 1511 Pro 64 - Bit, and the printer is USB connected.

    Thanks in advance,

    HPOJPro8710

Edit: I just tried printing HP and Scan Doctor 4.9 once again, now it works again. But this will not last forever, I need a permanent solution.

Edit 2: I forgot to add that I intend to leave it on all the time. It is good to do? Causing my problems?  My grandparents have their HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 24/7 for I don't know how many years! haha and they have no problem!

I got a HP OfficeJet 4630 USB connected, and I turned off each time and printed correctly. Only had to fix once with HP print and Scan doctor.

Hi, seems that your computer is powered off the USB ports to save energy.
    Check in the Device Manager.
    Check under USB controllers.
    Check all USB hub root.

Select power management and ensure that:

Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is DISABLED.

Use a USB cable of good quality, not more than 6 feet long.

Connect the 8710 directly to a power outlet wall.
