HP C309a all-in-One go offline at random

Hello

A user I support reported intermittent but frequent problems with this printer it will 'offline' at random.

The scenario is: Vista 64 - bit laptop communicates wirelessly with a WRT54G Router.  Connunicates C309a ALSO with the WRT54G wireless.  The protocol used is WEP.  Assign an IP address to the laptop and C309a is currently via DHCP from the router.  The laptop has the latest HP software installed.

(BTW, your desktop Mac communicates wirelessly with this Bluetooth C309a and never no problem, but do not know if have bluetooth activated on the C309a for Mac at the same time having IP enabled for the WRT54G wireless may be causing problems.)

I studied dozens and dozens of messages through many forums on this problem and many solutions are available, but often the wire is hijacked and goes off-topic, or the original poster responds never return whether or not the presented solution effectively resolved the problem.  I haven't met a single thread that seems to nail down this problem resolutely.

However, what makes the most sense to me, and that most of the notice seems to be centered around, assign a static IP address to the C309a because it loses an address assigned by DHCP as the C309a will "sleep".  I know how to proceed with a WRT54G - since the WRT54G doesn't the ability of static IP address reservation, you assign a fixed IP address on the C309a itself, outside the range of the server DHCP WRT54G assignment.

But before that, I have a few questions.  I need to understand what is happening when the 309 a goes to sleep:

(1) the router down the IP of his table?

(2) when the user submits something to print and the C309a is in sleep mode, what sequence of events occur to wake him up?

(3) if it DHCP assign a new address because of sleep, why wouldn't he just assign the IP address as last time?  It is a very small network with few devices, and they are always on - not like you have all these devices on and off the network.

Other discussions focused on firewall issues, but I don't see how this could be the cause this behavior 'offline' intermittent.  With a firewall, if I'm wrong, you don't get intermittent behavior like that - be communicates or is not until you have opened the necessary ports.

If there is anything else that comes to mind that I should check, please let me know.

I have the same problem, or so I thought until I discovered that it is only with my Windows 7 PC, my other PC is a HP Netbook XP/Ubuntu and Windows XP. It seems that the version of the 140.0.14.18 HP Solution Center has reported that he could not communicate with the printer C309a on the PC Windows 7 However simultaneously of the XP PC no problems. After a multitude of reinstalling the HP utility I would still lose connection after a day or two.

My c309a is connected to my unique and accessible via Bluetooth wireless local area network so that we can print directly from our cell phones.

The solution was very simple, taking the printer off kept the connected Windows 7 PC energy-saving mode. I hope that HP will fix this annoyance bit.

MSI-Flashplayer. Error 1722 problem with this windows package install. Where should I go from here?

    I assume that your printer is supposed to connect via wifi.

    • If so, you have run Uninstall HP?
    • If no, please list all the steps you've taken to uninstalling the printer

    How are trying to reinstall the printer?  In other words, you use the CD that came with the printer, a downloaded installer package (that we), or something else (Please specify)?

    I have a Wondows 8.1 and a printer portable all-in-one officejet 6310.  I have my printer installed and works fine on my laptop, but out of the blue one day that the printer will be offline and restarting the computer and printer does not correct.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the computer many times - this helps for about a week before it disconnects again.

    Now when I uninstall my laptop says there is no printer in range and lists no printer for me to install.  When I tried to manually in my printer - doesn't say that there is no such printer available.  Any suggestions?  Apparently this ONLY happens to me on my computer and not someone else in the home on their laptops - we have a total of 4 laptops in the House all on the same router and using the same printer.  Oh how I feel like a fool with windows 8.  Someone at - it helps or good suggestions for me?     Don't worry, it happens to the best of us. I recently became very angry because my iPad was not charging, the end came unplugged from the wall charger! Laughing out loud

    This problem can be caused by outdated closed ware, contradictory I.P within the router, etc. I have worked on a Thread revolving around Windows 8.1 for awhile, check it out for some possible future troubleshooting operations.

    There are steps to add the printer a way, assign a static IP, check that some updates are installed by Microsoft, etc.

  • A query on the duplex on HP C335B or C309A All in one printers.

    I thought I had bought a HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-one (CC335B) of Dixons, this week, but what has happened is an all-in one HP Photosmart Premium Fax - C309a.

    In looking at the site of HP of the unit for the same price and same machine appeas.

    What interested me first in the CC335B was ease of duplex printing.

    I find no mention in the manual C309a of this function, and I fear that I opened the box and installed a printer that won't print duplex.

    To be honest, I unpacked it only late last night, and at the time that the software was loaded, it was midnight so I did not send a multi document page to my c309a printer in order to ensure that it was duplex printing.

    The reason why I took the c309a out of the box, when I couldn't find CC335b model number in the box was because I visited the site of HP and two model numbers seems to be the same.

    So my question is, please can you advise if the C309a is able to print double-sided? This is the reason why I bought the unit from DIXONS.

    If it is not, and the model CC335b not printing duplex, then I will communicate DIXONS to recover my money.

    I have the C309a, and Yes, it came with a duplexer fastener.  You will need to set up to automatically duplex though, as it is by default to no duplex.  If you do not Win 7, I would recommend that you download the full install file from HP website instead of using the CD.

    I just bought this a few months ago to replace my Photosmart 2710, and it is the first time that I was disappointed by an HP printer.  This unit is very noisy and there is an unusual amount of clicks, check valves, movements and generally annoying sounds every time I start it.  Also, I have formatting issues when you print from Word.

    I hope you have better luck - I plan to return mine and goes to a 2710 (so far the best p-smart never!).

    My Photosmart C309a worked very well today, all of a sudden, it prints no and said the wireless radio does not work there at - it something I can do to fix this?

    The lights will market does not mean that the wireless radio is good. It might not work, but always turn. The last thing you can try is a partial reset. If this does not work, you will need to replace the printer.

    To make a partial reset:
    1. make sure that the printer is turned on.
    2. pull on the power cord from the printer.
    3. pull out the power cord from the wall.
    4. wait for 30 seconds.
    5. plug the power cord into the wall, but do not connect the printer.
    6. press 3 and # buttons.
    7. while now buttons, plug in the printer.
    8. when the lights come on, release the buttons.

    I can copy using the flat bed of glass, but when I use the automatic document feeder, a series of vertical line appear on one side of all pages.

    This has always been and is frustrating and annoying

    Hi Mazzag, you are welcome.

    Out of my experience, vertical lines may appear when you use the ADF are the result of any kind of dirt accumulated on the ADF scanner glass.

    For some reason that I missed that part, that affect most of our question

    I have a C309a I installed everything and when I try to copy the case (from the glass or the charger) it reduces the size of 1/2 page.  I don't know how to change this setting.  Help please - I know it's a fundamental issue with an easy solution, but I can't understand it.

    The copy, select printer, and then click the Menu button to access the menu of the copy (the button to the left of the navigation left key)

    Select reduce / enlarge menu and select the original size and confirm.

    Continue the navigation menu to copy up to set as new default value will be shown.

    Select this option and confirm to set the standard size by default.

    I just installed my HP Photosmart Premium C309a under Windows 7 64 bit and noticed something perculiar. I can print from programs, but when I go to the "devices and printers" in the menu start, the printer is not there. If I try to add the printer via the "Add a printer" feature, he just wants to another printer for her. Not a show stopper, but weird.     I had a paper jam and when I removed the photo tray to the book it was released in two parts.  One is the sandbox where I've actually put photo paper and the other is the part that it fits.  He don't slideback not together, and I'm afraid that if I try to force I can break a part of it.    Any suggestions?

    HP Photosmart Premioum all-in-one C309A works very well - is wired to the Mac with USB, works PC wirelessl.  Tried to print from Mac CDs and had no drop down menu for the CD option.  Fingered and finally did print from the PC.  Everything, including the 26 April 2012 updates HP for Mac users have reinstalled and could go down drop with CD option - looking, but then print a live project and no longer displayed option.  In fact, he goes out to tell me that the CD print option is not available from the printer, but it works of course easily to PC wireless connection.  I'll keep fiddling with, but someone has experienced this problem and found what is the solution?
