HP Compaq 8510W/30 5 motherboard temperature Zones

Does anyone know what are the temperature sensora different re on the HP 8510W/30 5 mother? "CPUID Hardware Monitor" using I see TZ0_, TZ1_, TZ2_, TZ3_, TZ4_, TZ5_, Local and Remote1.

I'm getting pretty high time on TZ5_ (100 c), TZ2_ (90 c) and Remote1 (90 c). I cleaned the fan & pipe fins, even cleaned the old dried heat sink compound and apply the new compound, but with no improvement.

So, if anyone knows what are the areas of temperature (or where the aks thereon), please let me know.

Thank you!

I have to assume that these temporary zones are on the graphics processor card. After having poking around, I found that the heat pipe was too hot to the touch on top of the chip, but cool in the fins of the fan. I thought that it should not be moving heat and it was bad.

I found a used one on ebay and after installing, all times remain in the range max 60 c and the fan is now calm.

The part number for the heat pipe is 452227-001.

    Hello

Anyone know why the temperature of the CPU of my Compaq 8510w may be relatively high during normal operation?

These two processors CPU temperature is about 65-70 degrees Celsius.

Furthermore - the fan blows constantly as well...

    Thanks in advance

Correction regarding temperatures: virus scanner was running when the temperatures were around 70 degrees Celsius.

During the idle time / normal operating temperatures are about 45-55 degrees Celsius.

    Is this a normal behavior?

    Thanks in advance

    SJW

45-55 degrees Celsius are time normal idle and light use. The Maximum temp your CPU is designed to support is 105 degrees Celsius.  You shouldn't get really concerned until you start to see temperatures above 80-85 degrees Celsius.

  • Compaq 8510w: replacement HARD drive models?

    Hello

I have a laptop Compaq 8510w (KE186EA; s/n CNU812285Y) with 200 MB of HARD drive installed. It is a Seagate ST9200420AS ('Momentus' family).

Yesterday, the CHKDSK utility found some bad sectors, so I want to replace the HARD drive. This Seagate model is no longer sold. What other HARD drive models are fully compatible with my laptop? My laptop has the peculiarity of "HP Drive Guard" who takes care of my HARD drive in the case of a shock, I wonder if this feature requires a 'special' model of the disk HARD must be installed.

I searched the web site of Seagate and other Momentus drives are listed there, but I'm not sure that they will fit my laptop; for example, none of them does support "shock protection" (or this function Seagate has nothing in common with HP Drive guard?).

UPD: and I also wonder if I can use an SSD, and if yes - what settings should it?

-Generally shorter readers won't be a problem, since readers usually rise in a way where the screws and SATA connectors are located at the same locations despite the height of the car. Just be careful not to exceed the height of the OEM disk (i.e. some of the 1 TB + drives that were 12 mm of height not suitable)

-SATA type is not important. SATA 3 Gb/s, SATA 6 Gbps or fastest readers will work fine, because their speed will be anyway limited by what the storage controller hardware supports.

D ' a generally, capacity have no impact on the production of heat. The 8510w, as a workstation type system, is designed to use the commands of higher performance. Newer players tend to be more thrifty in energy which means less heat. You should have no problem of compatibility based on the ability for any player < 2 TB.

Personally, I think that the benefits of the hybrid hard disks are largely overrated. If you want real performance boost, GB SSD - well worth the money, the performance difference is day and night from a physical disk more you don't have to worry about damage to the drive drops or movement.

  • HP Compaq 8510w - wifi problem

    Hello

I have a laptop HP Compaq 8510w running on W8.1.

On the support site, I can't download drivers for W8.1, but the laptop is too good and too quick to replace.

However, I constantly loose connection wifi. Device Manager contains the following description of the device:

Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN

    • This could be a driver problem or is this a hardware problem?
    • If it is a hardware problem, you can easily replace the wifi component?

    Thanks in advance,

P.S. when I leave W8.1 get a new driver in Device Manager, it says that the driver is up-to-date.

    Hello:

You can try the drivers on the link below to W8.1 and see if that helps...

Yes, it will, however, 32 bits may be more efficient. If your Vista Enterprise 32-bit, you will not be able to upgrade to 64 - bit. You will need to do a fresh install.

  • motherboard temperature

The temperature of my CPU is fine at 98F but the motherboard shows 263F.  Is this a problem?  I opened the computer and the fan works, so I was wondering if I was headed for a crash.

Feel you a thermal problem. You can smell burning?  None of 120F should emit a smell.

Opinion (I asked others to consider your comments), is that it is a faulty sensor Board.  If your Board has been really hot, it would be toast. Clean the fans and heatsink and relax.

    Hi all!

    -my 1st post here.

Laptop started to heat seriously about 30 months. The symptoms were:

-fan gear at all times very quickly after the start and

-heat extracted from this little box was such that I could not keep my hand before the exit of the fan or above it, the box more 5s touchiing. This meant temp was well above 75 ° c. imagine tweaking on your keyboard and suddenly crying out loud because you hand burned year.

4 nights ago (literally over night), my laptop called quit.

He has not started since. Nothing happens when I turn it on, except ironic that the fan seems to work great and the power supply LED is lit. I will also try to access the internal HD and CD/DVD drive about 4 intervals of s.

Naturally my warranty has long expired.

    I tried:

-connect to a display external and put under tension to see if something appeared there. Nothing.

-boot from a CD ROM. nothing.

-put back in place the memory modules, internal SATA HD, keyboard, pad, follow-up, the RTC CMOS 3V battery and the WLAN module, take everything I was able to take off and it reinstallation after you have checked for any Visual defect. Nothing more.

BTW, I work regularly with a single operating system on this machine, Win XP Professional SP3.

    One more detail:

I have reformatted and completely reinstalled my OS about 2 months after I had noticed some unpredictability as ago crashes and so on.  Which seemed to fix the grip but absolutely not overheating.

Due to the overheating my machine had had a constant history of qualifying left the middle of anything, especially during the summer months and when I got the job of video module.  But it was normal. The thermocontacts has just done his job... until four nights ago.

I think that the motherboard has a defective component or worse because of the heat generated? It can be repaired?

Someone at - he a clue about this zombie case? Any help appreciated.

    See you soon.

    -cedric

Well it's not really a case of zombie. You have 2 and a half years on a laptop overheated. I would say that the little girl gave him his best shot. Probably need a few years ago had to be open and have the area/radiator/fan of the cleaned processor and the new thermal paste. At this point, I think you're looking at a motherboard replacement. It's a bit old but it was very advanced when new is therefore always a desirable computer. It is the repair:

  • Replacing motherboard G62-225nr

I got a G62 someone because it does not work and I'm trying to fix it. Looking at it I'm pretty sure his problem with the motherboard, so my question is what are my options to replace the motherboard? Does anyone know what motherboard will fit? The stock is a bit difficult to find online, and I suspect that others do not correspond very well. Any ideas?

In case anyone is wondering the problem is that the thing pretty much does nothing when turned on. No fan, nothing on the screen, not even a rotation led charge when the power cord is connected. I tested the power cord with a multimeter and the contacts of the battery charge. They return a stable load, so I don't think that it is the power supply cord or plug.

    Thanks for the help.

  • No sound at all on my HDMI 8510w

    Hello

I have a HP Compaq 8510w with SKU number, KE187EA #ABN, who has a card of nVidia Quadro FX 570 M (with HDMI output) graphics.

I use HDMI for a long time to see the video on my TV, but there the HDMI output only broadcasts the video and no sound at all, so far I had to connect to the audio jack of my soundsystem separately, that works, but it is annoying as the HDMI output is supposed to audio output as well.

I'm running Win7 64 bit with the latest nVidia drivers for the nVidia Web site downloaded FX 570 M. I also have the latest drivers for the audio chipset (ADI AD1981HD) downloaded with the HP SoftPaq Downloader.

I've read other places online when I connect the HDMI cable, I should get an alternative to select RealTek HDMI output in playback devices options (see [1] and [2] for source). However, this never shows, no matter what I try.

I get two choices are (see screenshot http://i.imgur.com/ayysDeQ.jpg)

    (1) speakers - SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

    (2) audio digital (S/PDIF) - SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

(Yes, I tried pressing the S/PDIF device and set it as the default device - turn off also the other entry and so on).

Also, I find no link between RealTek and laptop computer when searching online, so I don't know if this information applies to my specific device. (I see the repair there is a 8510w with an ATI graphics card as well - so maybe procedure for these devices?).

However, because the audio should go through the graphics card, I guess I should have an entry for the nVidia HD Audio driver (which is supplied with the graphics card driver) under sound, video and game controllers in the Device Manager in Windows. However, here I have only one entry which is SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio one. Is this correct?

Advice on how I can solve this problem?

Don't know really what I did, but after N attempts at disabling, enabling, backward, the sound suddenly appeared. Too bad I don't know which of the things that I did that was actually the case, but at least problem solved for now.

  • Cooling fan does not work on Satellite Pro A300

    Hello world

I was asked by a friend to repair their Satellite Pro A300, because their CPU cooling fan had stopped working even during the start of the POST and the laptop could overheat and shutdown. So I thought it might one of three things:
    # Fan is obstructed by dust or dirt
    # Rolling fan failed
    # Fan power cable was loose

So I disassembled the laptop and cleaned the fan/radiator with compressed air and check the connection of the supply, which was solid, but this does not solve the problem, so I replaced the fan and the heatsink with another that I knew worked from the same model laptop that had a motherboard fault due to the bug of password to start random bios (out of warranty) but still no joy.

I'm starting to believe that the fan was perfectly fine rather motherboards temperature of the processor or the sensors that control the activation of the fan has failed.
Am I correct in thinking that it is essentially, irreparable without specialized tools and my friend will be content themselves to turn the system off each hourish or is there something else I forget?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

I m not a technician, but for me, looks like the fan connector is working properly if you already replaced the fan and therefore, it would be necessary to replace the motherboard

That s all I can say about it having a look for second mainboard or laptop where you can get a motherboard cheap. Maybe it works. :)

    Hi there @jhamaca,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are looking for more information on graphics updates for your system. I'm happy to help you with this.

By looking at the motherboard and system specifications: HP Pavilion 22 - h040es TouchSmart all-in-One Desktop PC product specifications, HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - card motherboard (Lavender-U), your system does support not a discrete graphics card at all. The only possible apparent graphics upgrade, is based on the upgrade of the system processor and GPU is integrated into the processor itself. See the table under the heading "Information processor upgrade"

I hope that answers your question about your options and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Upgrade and repair black screen CQ61

    Hello

I have a laptop Presario CQ61-214TU.  Upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista.

Push the power button, I get a black screen and the fans and leds of power.  No MESSAGE or BIOS.  The LED caps lock flashes very slowly 3 times and then the unit resets.  When she comes back, it's the same thing the fan on, black screen except the CAPS LOCK led flashes slowly and continuously.

I tried to disconnect the battery and AC and hold the power button / stop and most other Councils (removal of material, etc.) on the websites and the service.  (except those overheating).

I guess that the motherboard or processor are defective.

    The mobo is 578053-001.

    The processor is AM80577T4300.

As I have these out, I thought I would upgrade one or both.   What is the combination of both that I can put in the CQ61-214TU on an empty stomach.

    Thank you

    Here is the Manual:

    Manual

The motherboard list you does not appear in the manual, or is the processor, although the official HP specs also show that you have the Pentium Dual Core T4300 processor and this motherboard withdraws as a motherboard Intel CQ61. Fastest compatible processor is listed as a P8700 2.53 GHz.

This is a replacement for your motherboard:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-Compaq-CQ61-G61-Intel-motherboard-578053-001-test-OK-/251048516886

    And here's a P8700:

Your laptop has nVidia graphics and is as good as it gets in this series of laptops, which is not a high end machine. So if you get the P8700 and a duplicate of your Board, you'll have the max hardware you can get. I have a question putting almost $200 in it, but it's your call.
