HP Deskjet 2540: Printer tasks
DeskJet 2540 - Smear printing problems. I pulled a 'feed' management printer paper jam - the only direction I could grab the book. Since then, no matter what text I print a major blunder and "inking". I ran the clean printer clean several times ink systems and it makes no difference.
I ran the "Print quality diagnostic Page" and the first text document after it was perfect, but the following text document was back in the major purification ceremony. I ran an another "print quality Diagnostics Page" and the same result - first text print perfect, next document full of smudges. What can I do to solve the problem permanently? Thank you very much
THANKS a LOT - all the information I receive are incredibly useful for future use. I finally took the machine in a local "ink Doctor" who pulled a piece of paper (using the pliers in jewelry) that was stuck to the front of the rolls. After that I go back without problem perfect impression. Thank you very much once again for taking the trouble to answer it's much appreciated. Newby4

According to the user's guideof this printer, the printer cannot send fax. It can only print, scan and copy.

I have installled, uninstalled and reinstalled the software half a dozen times now, on my Windows 10 machine, but I still don't have any interface to scan documents.
The installation process has shown a success install and I was able to recognize and connect to the printer. In my Start menu, the new option 'Scan & Print' is there, as shown in the screenshot (click on the screenshot to the size of the full image).
But when I click on the option, instead of the usual analysis and the dialog box print, I am faced with a new printer 'Connect' and 'Add more software' options (see screenshot below).
How can I get to the good old scan dialog box?
Has it been removed from version 10 of Windows? I ran a search for "Scan" computer, but the only options I get are native Windows analysis (which works very well for the individual photos) and this dialog box. Nothing that would allow me to scan a document of several pages in PDF format

I have a few steps we can take to try to solve this problem.
First of all, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.
Please remove the USB from the printer and computer, and leave that it disconnected until further notice.
Please click on the link that explains the steps to uninstall the printer software.
Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer.
When the computer is back running, disable the firewall or anti virus protection so that it does not all conflicts cause when we do the installation.
Please click on the following link for the HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers.
Save the file on the desktop so that it creates its own icon. This will make it easy to find download.
Double-click the new icon and follow the installation steps. The installation will prompt you as to connect the usb cable then please do not it connect before hand.

I recently bought an HP deskjet printer 2540 and I try to print without margins but the option because it is grayed out and wont allow to change.
According to the specification for the 2540 Deskjet it does not support borderless printing:
Print borderless: No.
If I print say, 6 pages, my printer prints in reverse, IE page6 first down on page 1. How can I fix it?
The 2540 doesn't have the option to order Page.
Recently installed the above printer and it prints documents back to the front. I went in printing preferences, tab advanced but couldn't find an option to take it forward towards the rear for. Can you help me please? Thank you very much.
The Page order feature is no longer available for the latest drivers from HP, I suggest to use another driver to work around such a.
Then follow the steps below:
- Open Control Panel, and then select devices and printers.
- Right-click the printer icon, then select printer properties.
- Open the Advanced tab, and then click new driver.
- Click on the next button and select HP in the production list, and then select HP Deskjet 6940, Deskjet 6980 or the Deskjet 5550 in the list of printers.
- Click on the next button and complete the wizard, and then click OK to complete the change
Note: You can rename the name of the printer to its default name of the printer properties tab once the changes applied and the dialog box is closed.
- You can now change the order of the pages with the alternative driver on the Advanced tab.

Your printer will have to use your printer USB cable and run it again put again in the menus of HP wireless.
Hello! I managed to connect my printer via the cord, but all my efforts to connect wireless have not been successful, even after you install the drivers appropriate for Windows 10. It seems to connect and to detect the router but when it promts me to enter information to check the connection, it does not connect. He also promts me to enter the information that is displayed on the printer, but it is not anything related to this wireless network. Help, please!

I see that you have connectivity problems. I would like to help!
I would recommend your computer off. Once the computer is down, unplug the power cord from the printer and the electrical outlet and remove the power of your router for 60 seconds.
After 60 seconds, reconnect the router. Once the router has started broadcasting, reconnect the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.
After that the printer is turned on, run the wireless configuration.

Just changed my router and the printer said it was offline. Normally, I restart the print spooler when disconnected. I have reinstalled the printer connection on my laptop and today it says 'ready' but still no printing, display of error messages. It is not yet allow me to print a test page. Anyone have any ideas?

I just installed this printer in wireless mode. It prints well applications like excel, word, acrobat, etc, but will not print pages from google, such as google maps and others.
I would recommend a print with a different internet browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, to see if there is any difference in printing output.
Printer prints a page unique documents OK. When you print documents of several pages, the printer stops after 1 1/2 pages and message indicates that the printer is unable to print the document. Have done some research and I tried different remedies but the problem persists. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your reply and suggestion. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer as suggested. The printer works well on most of the documents, but found that when printing & H R Block tax forms it will still print only 1 1/2 pages and stops with a message that printeer can not print the H & R Block forms. (Maybe its trying to tell me something of my taxes back... hahah). Apparently this problem exists only with tax forms from H & R Block software.
If you can close this file and if I have further problems I will open a new file.

I have a HP Deskjet 2540 printer which was working fine until today when I tried to print a PDF on the net. I get a screen saying it is flattening, and then the printer makes a noise as if it will work and then nothing. When I check the device, he says that nothing is waiting to print. When I tried to print it directly from the internet (using Chrome) it just print plain paper! When I saved the document to PDF and tried to print, nothing like as detailed above. I am using Winows 7.

I have a new Dell computer. I have a Windows 7 with a free upgrade to a Windows 10. While Windows 7 I have intalled a HP Deskjet 2540 printer then computer upgraded to Windows 10. Now on Windows 10. I uninstalled the printer HP Deskjet 2540 and now get the HP StatusBL.dll error every time when I start the computer. I drive and looked at disk to find L4uninstall.exe and can't find it. The disc has a Util directory but no directory of CCC in the Util directory. How can I get rid of this error at startup of the computer. I love the HP products!
The error returns after a shortcut remaining once the software has been uninstalled.
From file Exploer type %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup in the address bar and press ENTER.
Delete the shortcut to monitor alerts to 2540 printer ink and the error should appear is no longer.
