HP Deskjet 3830: Have repeatedly reset the printer's wireless network settings

When I did a WiFi from my laptop to my Deskjet 3830, I does not specify the need for a password, but then when I came back the next day he asked my password (and refused to accept my normal netwrk password).

I posted the question here, and someone told me to reset the settings of wireless network printer, who worked. But after a while, he returned to ask me the password and I have to reset again!

How to avoid this problem?

When I try to connect, it tells me that I have not install the correct driver.  I downloaded and installed the driver 64 bit vista from the internet, but it still does not work.

What is work?     Now, I wonder if I need to install this driver on my main PC... and if yes, which ruin my ability to print from this PC?

  • Reset the printer C6180 for different regions cartridge

I recently moved to the United Kingdom in New Zealand. My C6180 is configured for cartridges 363 series available in the United Kingdom. The same cartridge is 02 series in New Zealand, and when I install the printer tells me that the printer is not configured for this cartridge. I think I have to reset the printer to a different area, so two questions.

    1. How can I do this and if I need to call HP where can I find the number?

    2. I guess I can't mix cartidge types so will have to replace all of them, correct?

  • disconnecting from the ad hoc wireless network

I have problems with the ad-hoc wireless network connection. Internet connection is not necessary, I want to just connect two laptops vista to play Civilization4. We had two laptops connected properly for a few days and enjoyed the game. But now the connection does not appear to work properly.

Two portable computers connect to each other and then after a short perion one of them disconnects with a message saying "in waiting for other users to connect."

It's the same no matter what either portable sets up the connection.

We tried to establish new connections of two laptops and welcomed the connections between each of them also, the problem is the same.

We have tried to disable the firewall without success

There are other parameters that we should look at?

    Hi Bm_mad,

This problem may occur if the enable IEEE 802. 1 X authentication for this network check box is selected. If this box is checked, but there is no server to authenticate the connection is interrupted. If you turn on the wireless network connection, it disconnects again after a short period.

To resolve this issue, use one or more of the following methods in the order in which they are provided. After you complete each method, verify that the problem is resolved. If a method does not resolve the problem, continue to the next method.

    Method 1: Disable IEEE 802 authentication. 1 X

To disable authentication IEEE 802. 1 X, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type ncpa.cpland click OK.
    2. Right click on your wireless network connection and then click Properties.
    3. Click the wireless networks tab.
    4. Under preferred networks, click your wireless network, and then click Properties.
    5. Click the authentication tab, click to clear the enable IEEE 802. 1 X authentication for this network check box, and then click OK twice.

Method 2: Remove and re-create the wireless network connection

To remove and re-create the wireless network connection, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type ncpa.cpland click OK.
    2. Right click on your wireless network connection and then click Properties.
    3. Click the wireless networks tab.
    4. Under preferred networks, click your wireless network, and then click Remove.
    5. Click view wireless networks.
    6. Under management of the network, click Refresh network list.
    7. Under choose a wireless network, click the wireless network to which you want to connect, and then click connect.

Method 3: Solve the USB wireless network adapters

If you have an adapter (USB) wireless universal serial bus, you may experience problems that are related to the limitations of USB. If you have several USB devices, the USB network adapter can share, bandwidth, power or both to a level that it causes, you experience the symptoms described in the Symptoms"" section. To resolve this issue, try the following suggestions:

    • If the computer has more than one USB bus, connect the wireless network adapter to its own USB bus. Connect other USB devices to a different USB port. As a general rule, two USB ports share one USB bus.
    • Disconnect all USB devices that are unused or not.
    • Use a powered USB hub to connect the adapter to your computer.

  • Reset the printer: what you need to know

There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

If the printer has already damaged due to her fiddling in the care of the menu, you may need to Contact HP for (paid) service.  Best not to do the damage in the first place...

An example of the damage that may be caused would be the printers that use special cartridges installation.  Reset the printer to factory conditions can cause sound to demand once again the cartrdiges Installer.  If the original cartridges of configuration have been exhausted or discarded the user must contact HP for cartridges to install since there is no distribution channels.

  • Got paper stuck in the printer and now will only print proofs. How to reset the printer

Got paper stuck in the printer and now will only print proofs. How to reset the printer

It looks like you may have some saved jobs in your queue that need to be removed.

    Here's how:

To clear the print queue, stop the print spooler service and delete all the jobs/print pending.

You cannot delete all print jobs in the queue so that the Print Spooler Service is running.

To stop the Print Spooler Service, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to open the Services Applet.

Locate the Print Spooler Service, right click and choose 'Properties' and then click on the "Stop" button to stop the Print Spooler Service is running.

The option "Startup Type" of Service properties print spooler is usually set to "Automatic" (which is now a good time to check it out).

If the "Startup type" is not set to "Automatic", set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" If that is your desire (which now is the time to check it out).

Do not try to start or restart the Print Spooler Service immediately.  You must remove all print jobs backed up first...

Then, delete all updates pending upward and forward to printing from XP.  If they do not print before, you will need to send the to the printer again.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

Delete all the print jobs in queue (select and delete all the files) in the folder if the folder is without waiting for print jobs.  The folder must be empty when you are finished.

Reboot your system and check the Print Spooler Service again to make sure the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically restart (given that the startup type is set to automatic).

After the reboot, check again the Spooler Service for printing and the 'Status' column for the print spooler must be read "started."

Submit new failure of print jobs.

  • Reset the printing system - what happens exactly; 10.5; OJ Pro 8000n

    Hello all-

Well the bug in the software update (10.5.8) did.  I forgot that HP Printer Drivers update 1.1.1 continues to appear even if its been installed before.  As a result, I have now lost some features with my new OJ Pro 8000n.  I plan on resetting the printing system, but first I want to be sure I understand exactly what is happening.

I have a much older Business Inkjet 1100d also installed, and I am not totally convinced that if the former driver for it gets uninstalled by reset the printing system I can find the old disk to reinstall this former driver and all the features.

My impression is that reset the printing system removes all printers installed Print & Fax Preference, but does NOT the driver software and the real characteristics.  (On the other hand, I assume that the "scrubber" option removes all the drivers and extras?)  Am I correct that?

    Thanks - Randy

Well Yes, reset the printing system does not remove the printer software or the driver.

Here is an article from Apple stating (at a very high level) what this function.

    e. ensure that all check boxes are unchecked (check boxallow the computer to turn off this device to save power is off).

    f. If you have disabled the boxes, click ok and restart your system. Put the computer in Hibernate mode and check if you still have any questions.
