HP Deskjet F380: No paperjam but the computer thinks there is a

There is a paperjam that was erased.  But our computer continues to tell us that the printer is blocked when trying to print from our Dell.  We are able to copy with the printer and my son can print from his laptop so that we know, is not a paperjam.  How to fix this so we can print from our PC?

I will definitely do my best to help you with the paper jam error message you see on your computer. I ask that you please let me know some more useful information to help me the problem of the search for you. Also try one of these steps, you can not try and respond to me with the results please.

  1. Have you completed all the steps in this guide: a message "paper jam" for the HP Deskjet F300 all-in-one series
  2. What is the operating system of the computer?
  3. Did you test functionality of the hardware (made copies) and they work successfully?
  4. Have you tried printing from different programs?
  5. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
  6. If you are using Windows, run the print and Scan Doctor and understand the results.
  7. Is the printer plugged directly into the wall outlet (avoiding the power and surge bars)?
  8. Have you completed all the updates of Windows/Mac OS?
  9. Try a power reset the printer:

    With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.

    Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

    Wait at least 15 seconds and plug the power cord into the wall outlet.

    Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.

    If the printer does not by itself, press the power button to turn it on.

    I think you should also try the common workaround;
    Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Wait a few hours and reconnect the two parts. Then try to turn on the unit.

    Do you by chance have Google Desktop? Some users have reported interference problems in Winodws 7 while using an older version of Google Desktop.
    Try to uninstall it if it exists.

  • my computer has a physical CD-ROM drive... and physically, it opens and closes... but the computer doesn't recognize, or something in it.

    I think that if I knew more details, I could not even what to do.  And I think in a clumsy attempt to speed up my computer by taking things that were not used... I did this, but I don't know how to cancel it.  The physical drive is there and you can extract a disc in and out... but the computer does not see the disk itself, and still less the disk in it.

    Help is welcome.  Thank you.  (And Yes, if I find a way to solve this problem, I'll hang a sign above the screen remind me never to touch again!)

    1. do you have HTC Manager installed on the computer?

    2. have you tried it with different USB ports?

    You need the HTC Sync HTC phone Manager software.

    Method 1: Try again with different USB ports and see if that helps.

     

    Method 2: If HTC Sync is installed, if you get the message "no device connected" in HTC Sync, ensure that your phone USB setting is changed to "Charge Only" to "HTC Sync".

    1. the MOST important... do nothing the message asking you to do.

    2. connect with your e-mail server. Check the message. I suspect it's a hoax or, worse, a scam.

    3. post the whole message again, less your e-mail address.

  • Windows stops working, but the computer remains on

    Since I've upgraded Windows 7 Vista Home Premium, my computer did this weird thing where the system stops completely, but the computer continues to operate.

    The screen goes black w/backlight, the power led lights up, and no keys will result in no change. ESC, ctrl + alt + delete, entry, all keys by sliding through the keyboard, nothing.

    I have to hold the power button to turn off.

    There's no real consistency on what programs I am running when this happens.

    I ran a few laps with no improvement.

    It happens not every day.

    However if you are using Windows Backup, then try to turn off shadow copy of Volume and check if the problem reappears. It manages and implements Volume Shadow copies used for backup purposes and others. If this service is stopped, shadow copies will be unavailable for backup and the backup may fail. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on will fail to start.

    Steps to follow:

    a. Click Start, type services and press to enter.
    b. Locate the "Volume Shadow Copy" service and right click and click on "Stop".
    c. close the windows Services.
