HP device manager 4.6 SP4 device mass rename

Hello

I want to use HPDM 4.6 to rename all our lightweight client devices (t620).

I have a list of MAC addresses and the names I want to assign to the devices.

Can I rename a single device, I can rename all devices HP-invented names, but I don't see

way to mass rename using a list is imported (e.g. the file separated by tabs).

How to proceed?  It is possible to submit jobs to HPDM uses a script?  (cmd file, powershell, etc.) ?

Hello RobJ2,

Mass renaming devices is possible since the HPDM.

(1) create the CSV file

You need the host name, address MAC, Type (model aircraft), OS and Gateway ID in a CSV (plain text) in this format:

Hostname, MAC, Type, OS, SN, GatewayID

Computer-1, 008CGAD0547B, t520, MXL51609CY, ThinPro 5,5000570000 HP

Computer science-2, 008CGAD0558C, t520, MXL51609PR, ThinPro 5,5000570000 HP

(2) import the CSV file

HPDM, of files > import devices...

Navigate to the path of the CSV file (CSV in this way files will be imported)

Click on import

The name change will launch immediately without warning. A report will be generated once the process is completed.

See you soon,.

I noticed since I put Windows 7 on my laptop, the Device Manager is showing under 'Other devices' "mass storage controller" has no driver installed and has the famous yellow triangle and an exclamation point. I have a gateway MX6920, if this is of any help.

Too bad.  I found the solution.

In the case where you did not, go to:

    http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/GetFile.asp?ID=21836&UID=290679

Download driver, nav for cabins (location listed in the included readme file) folder, right-click the setup.exe and "compatibility test".  Go through the wizard and select the option "he worked directly with Windows XP SP2" and it should install with this compatibility.  My SD card reader just read my transflash Reader which contained my my Droid microSD card.  It's all good now.

  • Impossible to install any device mass storage

    Hello

I recently tried to copy data from a Flash drive to my PC. However, I have a lot of trouble with it.
So I went and bought another one, but I still get the same problem. I also tried a drive external HARD, same problem here too.

    My problem is the following:
When I connect mass storage devices to my PC the Hardware Wizard comes up and starts looking for readers, but it's never finds one and therefor does not install the mass storage device.
Mass storage devices are working on other PC, my own friends.

I've already updated Windows and I already deleted the USB and storage devices of mass from Device Manager if they are resettled. Unfortunately, none of the actions succeeded.

I use a PC Pentium Dual Core, I bought around 2006. I use Windows XP Home Edition SP3.

I hope someone can help me.

Thank you for your time and your help.

    Concerning

    Leo MS

    My problem is:

I do not have the new device connected to my computer, but there is a warning on the 'USB Mass Storage Device' Device Manager as USB controller. In fact no problem when I attached all my computer USB storage, it can still read file in there. This problem makes my computer need a lot of time to boot. Even if I disable your device (which has a warning about it) my computer need even more time to start. I tried all efforts:

    1. I tried to update the driver of the device, we want to, but it did not work.

    2. I uninstalled all USB controller devices, but it did not work.

    3. I tried 'MicrosoftFixit' tool, but it didn't work.

Is it possible to fix this error? What happened to my computer? I need help.

    Best regards

  • Media management to Smartphones blackBerry with mass storage Mode off

I just updated my 6.0.0.40 desktop software.  Roxio Media Manager is there no more.  For most of you, it's perhaps a blessing.  But my server company forced the mass storage mode to turn off.  For all its faults and quirks, Roxio was the only way I could transfer multimedia files to and from my handheld.  And now it's gone!

    Two questions for gurus:

    (1) is there one other than Roxio way to transfer media files to and from your handheld with the mass storage mode?

    (2) what is the latest version of Desktop Manager which includes Roxio?

    Hello.

Not really a guru, but the answers to your questions below are:

    1 n °

2 5.0.1 and you can download throrugh the Desktop Manager software support link.

  • Help the mass renaming 100 + subfolders so that I can transfer them in a single folder

I loaded by pulling a certain file of 100 + files on our shared drive companies. I am able to get via the * symbol and find every folder because they are all named the same (legal). I would like to copy every single legal folder and paste them inside my personal hard drive, but to do this, they all have to rename. I tried to rename by adding one (1) at the end of the first of the few, I chose to cascade and rename files, but renamed it all the "legal (1).

Is it possible for me to mass copy and paste without having to rename all? Or how can I rename a ton of files that are stored in different folders, but can be assembled by a * search?

I hope this makes sense, I do not put too much effort in explaining.

    Thank you

If I understand you correctly, windows Explorer will do that for you

    (1) in windows explore find the name of the folder.

    (2) you will then get a list of all records that gave the name of folder

    (3) select all (Ctrl + A) or, if you do not hold down the CTRL key and click on those that you want.

    4) press Ctrl-c.

    5) navigate to the destination folder/drive and press Ctrl + V

    (6) a box warning of file name conflicts

    (7) click on keep files and ticks of the do this for all conflicts of 100.

    8) click Ok, you will get the name of the folder, the name of folder (2), the name of folder (3)... name of the folder (100)

Let us know if you are successful, or if I have misunderstood.

  • What is the best/better way to reenumerate USB ports from a script? I need to emulate the same enumeration that occurs when a USB device is either plugged or unglugged to a USB port.

I'm working on a network to restrict access to the ISSO role USB mass storage, only. Management wants to access USB Mass Storage for ISSOs on all workstations while blocking access to USB mass storage to all others... on all the workstations. They also want to that USB ports remain available for everything except Mass Storage.

There are many ways to do it, but the only 'reliable' method, I found so far is to point the HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\UBSSTOR\ImagePath key to some fake file to block ports and rename it back to access it again.

To do this, I need to do things more two 2...

    1. make sure that the ImagePath key always has the false value at startup, and

    2. create a login script that affects the ImagePath value when a member of the ISSO group connects... and reset it when they log off.

Which meet the requirements of the direction if only it worked! The problem is that USB devices must be listed again to re-read the ImagePath registry key after each change. Reconnect the device will do, but it would be unwise to rely on a user to restrict access (fox/Coop).

The following Microsoft KB seems to be the way to go, but we do not have compilers on the network...

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/259695

I know that this hack to the system is not the most elegant, but I'm just trying to make the management happy.

    Nobody knows...

    1. any (more elegant) way to meet the specified requirement, or

    2. a way to re - enumerate USB devices from a script.

  • Message from blackBerry Smartphones: MTP Device Mode is enabled on

I just did a hard reset (remove battery) on my Storm2 9550.  When it finished start, I started the Desktop software and connected the phone via the USB port.  I received the following message:

This Blackberry device using a connection of the PSG.  Some features of media for your device mass storage mode, which interrupts all active media transfer protocol (MTP) connections.  You want to mass storage mode?

I don't know exactly what that means or if I should answer 'Yes' or 'no '.  (I had a bit of luck you are looking for this particular online message).

The BlackBerry Storm smartphone can connect to a computer in one of the following ways:

    • USB mass storage mode
    • Media Transfer Protocol (MTP)

MTP allows a BlackBerry smartphone user transfer media files between a computer and a BlackBerry smartphone and provides support for multimedia files that have specific requirements, such as restrictions associated with the management of digital rights (DRM) technologies.

A BlackBerry smartphone appears as a Portable device in my computer when connected to the computer using the PSG. It does not appear in the devices with removable storage section and has not assigned a drive letter.

  • Remove unused devices to LabVIEW

    Hello

I have an application that I developed and we met an interesting problem.

We use a USB DAQ device.  If we have 2 USB data acquisition devices, disconnect 1 and plug in the new the new device USB gets installed and identified as 'Dev2' is the default response of the DAQmx driver.  However, this creates a problem for our application, because our 'Dev1' now disconnected hardware DAQ reference address.

So how ensure that ensure that when a device is disconnected it is removed from the Driver?  Is there a way when I bring my application in LabVIEW, I can remove the devices and rename the device connected to 'Dev1 '.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Dan

    Hi Dan,.

For now, he is not a programmatic way to delete individual DAQmx devices, but you can use the Configuration API of the system OR to import a configuration of MAX mode 'replace' to remove all disconnected DAQmx devices (and renamed it your connected devices, too). There is an example of how to do this in \examples\nisyscfg\Import MAX Configuration.vi.

You can rename individual devices using the Configuration API of the system NOR. An example of this is in \examples\nisyscfg\Rename Aliases.vi.

There's something somewhat related to the exchange of idea DAQ: available by type instead of DAQ hardware device number
