  • Security Center service is disabled and cannot depend on

My service center security indicates that it is turned off and it wont let me turn it on, how can I turn on?

    Hello jackie,.

Go to start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services and scroll to Security Center. Click the Dependencies tab and go to each of these dependency services and click dependencies tabs until you have no more. Knit then back and make sure that each listed as a dependency service is enabled and started. Continue along each string until you finally get back to the center of security and make sure that it is enabled and started. Then do exactly the same thing for the Security Accounts Manager service. While in services, also disable and stop the service of the Defender. Restart when done and see if that helps the situation.

MSE should start automatically in all cases (in normal mode). Even if the Security Center still has a problem, open and try to start the MSE (if it is not already started and running). If so, at least, you're protected even if the Security Center does not have to "prove" to you.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135. If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem. Follow the procedures described in the article. Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall. Once don't forget to reset the operating system to normal status as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

If this does not work, we will check your system and hard disk for corruption files and try to see if there is an event that will inform you:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

, Type sfc/scannow go and let it run.  It will scan and try to the difficulty of some of your system files.  If all goes well it will complete with no corruption, could not be repaired (if there are these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot.   Answer Yes and restart to run the program.  It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

If it does not, then thanks for posting error messages in Event Viewer about the Security Center (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Look in the system section.

If the problem persists, you may be infected.

Update and run a scan complete with any security software you use.

Then, try the following programs if you do not, because they can help. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx. This may or may not remove the infections, but will probably not correct the damage caused by them. Even if they or your current AV software seem to work or indicate that you are not infected, you should not completely trust in them and must continue with the recommendations that follow (so it's up to you if you want to try them first, or just ignore all this and get help from an expert you really need as described below).

Correctly and completely remove these infections can be complex and often require manual removal procedures (which may or may not be entirely effective either). Even if they work, I suggest what follows in any case, so that we can start it (you can ignore the methods above if you want it really is the way forward, but it won't hurt to them for trying).

  • Security Center does not recognize the Windows Security Essentials

Windows Security Essentials does not seem to register with Security Center.  Security Center reports that no Virus protection is enabled.

    1. I installed Windows XP 32 - bit WGA, activated the product and updated to SP3.

2 security Center starts giving Windows security alerts for Virus protection, because none has been installed.

    3. I installed McAffee VirusScan.

4 security Center stopped giving Windows security alerts for Virus protection.

    5. I uninstalled McAffee VirusScan.

6 security Center has resumed giving Windows security alerts for protection against the viruses as before.

    7. I installed Windows Windows Security Essentials and rebooted.

    8. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Windows Security Essentials with no joy.

Windows Security Essentials installation did not prevent Windows security alerts.  No Windows Security Essentials registry entry will appear in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Security Center and monitoring.  If Microsoft consider essential security to be an antivirus product, then how to Windows Security Essentials register with Security Center?

I understand that this is an information and alert issue only.  I understand that Windows Security Essentials works actually ok.  I am particularly concerned by the reports.  It conditions my deployment of Windows Home Server.  Deactivation of surveillance or the alert is not a solution, just a poor quality work around.

In a previous thread, the author of this question even abandoned and has not requested additional assistance.  An explanation was given (relevant for Windows 7), but no solution has been offered.  Windows XP has not been addressed.   http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-security/the-Security-Center-has-not-recorded-an-anti-virus/15ae2383-7ced-4850-A863-f7eb8cc90ee5

I had the same problem for a while now (I'm on xp) and have searched the Internet for a solution but found nothing at the moment.

  • Windows XP Security Center must be started.

Son has moved to the University. His hp laptop running Windows XP and MS Office 2007, protected by the anti virus trend has previously connected wireless to the Internet at home. At the University, it must connect via a cable (which may or may not be relevant), but trying to go Internet, he receives a pop-up to tell Security Center must be started. Attempts to boot from the control panel simply gets the message "Security Center started and stopped".

Not really sure what is the problem and still less the solution likely! Someone at - it ideas?

You should go to site microphones tend to help fix this problem, I had a similar problem with the anti-virus program and he will have to spend in CMD Mode to fix, they can through the fix.

    Hello

What version of Windows are you using?

What is the exact message that is shown when you click the 'Activate now' button to the center of the Action?

Make sure the service is started

    Start > type services.msc

    Double-click the "Security Center" service

Set it to automatic (delayed start) and click Start.

    What antivirus do you use?

If you use microsoft security essentials avg avira mcafee norton etc they disable the vista version of windows defender by default

Microsoft Security Essentials has its own version of Windows Eefender

and other anti-virus programs use their own particular type of application to scan for spyware and malware

It of nothing to worry and is the default action, which is designed for them to do

  • Security Center has been disabled by a virus, how do I turn this back?

    Hello

My computer has been infected with a virus that has disabled the Security Center Service. I cleaned my computer since the virus and other viruses (with the help of Microsoft Security Essentials) and everything seems to be clean. Now when I try to activate the rear Security Center, I went to computer Services (services.msc) but did not find the service center of security that there are listed. I tried using the command (cmd) line using this command:

    net start wscsvc

but the response indicates that the name of the service (wscsvc) is not valid.

Can anyone here tell me another option (such as editing the registry) which help to turn on Security Center?

    Thank you

    Using Win XP SP3

I tried all the three methods, but sorry, none of them solved the problem. The last and the best thing I've done is to repair windows by using the installation CD.

  • Said automatic updated Security Center is disabled; Control Panel says it's on

Recently starting Win xp, Security Center displays indicating that automatic updates is disabled. When I click to turn it on, he says he cannot not and indicates that it takes to do this via the control panel. In the Panel, it is stated that automatic updates is enabled actually.

It started a few weeks ago the same then, as a malware attack, which since then has been cleaned (apparently).

I don't know if associated: try to use Microsoft Windows Update: breaks down, ditto always fails just check the updates.

Even if the infection has been removed some repair work is needed.

Take a look at the following article in the knowledge base.
