HP ENVY 15: HP ENVY 15 freeze on shutdown

Hello, as title my HP ENVY 15 freezes every time I stop or I put it in sleep mode. The LED stays on and if connected battery is discharged, and I must stop so hard the laptop each time. I already tried several solutions suggested by the forum, but unfortunately I'm not able to install an older version of the management engine Interface. I've already disabled the quick start and changed a lot of settings that might cause the galley with the closing, but nothing has worked.
Thanks for your help, any suggestion is welcome.

Hello

Try the following.

Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close the open windows and restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download the driver directly from Intel IMEI on the following link, unzip the and run the installer.

https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/26127/Intel-management-engine-consumer-driver-for-Intel-nu...

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

When the machine rebooted, re - activate the quick start and restart the computer once more - let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking.

Kind regards

DP - K

    Thanks in advance.

My brand new envy 15 (model LW897AV) (15 t-3000 CTO) crashes every time that I try to transfer a lot of files from a Flash DRIVE via the USB ports on the laptop.

It gets about 5 minutes, then simply hangs. He had done this 7 times now. I got a message on a blue screen BSOD once:

    0xE0010002

After calling technical support HP and Google search, they think it's a problem with the USB 3.0 controller or something to do with the hibernation mode. I updated the driver for USB 3.0 controller. No joy. Also, I changed the power settings to never Hibernate. Still no solution.

The USB ports on the left side appear to be able to let go. Next to the USB port is a wireless mouse, and he loses too much power (the Green led turns off). Sometimes the mouse keyboard and the touchpad still works. Other times, everything is frozen.

I can recreate the problem with two different USB drives. Of course, these USB drives have no problem with either of the readers.

    Help!

    Thank you. -ChipTay

Hi kstoltz. I have the solution for you.

Return it. I spent more than 20 hours, sending in the dump and bsod messages files. SUPPORT TECHNIQUE IN THE U.S. WAS AWESOME.

FAR IS A SUPPORT TECHNIQUE WAS SO PAINFUL THAT I THREW ALMOST THE ENVY 15 IN THE MARINA.

They said it was a problem with the hardware with USB 3.0 ports and file transfers. There was no trouble, so they have defective only intel chips on motherboards out there.

I had an Exchange with an upgrade of RAM and processor for my troubles.

    :-)

    I love HP.

the 5532 wireless all-in-one worked well for about 6 months. While yesterday would not print. Wireless blinking blue light. SELECT the Wireless Assistant and he tries to get a modem for a few seconds, then freezes.  The only solution is to unplug the power, and then try again.

    Hello Royboy1946,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you have a problem with the printer freeze.

Please make sure you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

Write me back and let me know if you still have questions or if you have any other questions.

I had recently replaced cooling unit. Since then, computer laptop get gel frequently and speacialy everything in 3D rendering software - task before she did it without problem.

A lot of help, I'll appreaciate.

    Thanks for the minidump!

I watched the 9 most recent minidumps. Here are the 4 latest since March 2013.

    A. 06/05/13 - dxgmms1.sys - Page fault in non paged area

    B. 06/05/13 - dxgmms1.sys - Driver IRQL not less or equal

    C. 06/05/13 - ntfs.sys - Kernel Mode exception not handled

    D. - iaStor.sys - 04/03/13 0 x 00008084

A and point B in a video driver issue. You mentioned that the driver is up-to-date in your last post. The video driver recently updated since 5/6 or earlier? If it was before, I would say that the uninstall from Device Manager, reboot, download and install the latest video driver from the link in my last post.

C is a pretty vague error according to my research. It simply means that there is one in the nucleus somewhere.

D is associated with the hard drive.

The other 4 I watched came from January and have not reappeared.

You have already run the memory and hard drive tests and they all came back without error so I would give that BIOS update a few days and see if you get all the other blue screens. If so, proceed to the video driver uninstall and reinstall instructions from A and B above. If after you have reinstalled the latest driver, you always encounter blue screens, I recommend to backup your files and reinstall Windows. Do not load any of your files or programs on immediately. Use the new installation of Windows for a few days, and then install a program both for a few days until you experience the error again, or not at all.

I hope this information helps! Let me know the results after using the computer with the latest version of the BIOS for a few days.

  • Printer HP Envy 4500 stuck in shutdown

I tried to copy a document.  I resized it by reducing the size, but intended to increase the size.  Error message said it was "impossible to analyze, power the printer off then back on."  If this does not work, the scanner is broken. "I pressed the power button / stop and screen read"shutting down", but it is stuck there.  None of the buttons work.

    Hello Dda1,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you have a problem with the printer not wanting to stop.

Try unplugging the power cable at the back of the printer and the power supply.  If you use a power strip/bar, please connect the power supply directly on a wall outlet and stop using the Strip/bar.

Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello

The attached file of the DMP is the error checking DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f) .

This error occurs if the drivers do not manage applications of transition from State power properly, usually during one of the following procedures: stop, suspend or exit from sleep, suspend or resume from hibernation mode.

  • Tecra Z50-to-17 t constantly freezes during shutdown

My new Toshiba Tecra Z50-to-17 t constantly crashes on shutdown.

At first I thought that it could connect to the Cisco all lie, as it appeared in the event viewer several times.
After I deleted it went well for a while, but now the problem occurred again, but this time there is nothing to see in the event viewer.

Can someone help me what is wrong and how can I fix it myself?

    Hi friendly smirou

The laptop has been preloaded with Win 7 64 bit system.
I guess that you are still using this system, I would recommend you to repair the system using the windows have auto repair function.

Start Notepad, and then press F8.
Now you should be able to access the Advanced menu.
Here, you can choose between different options.

You can choose the last known good configuration option.
You can also choose the first option to fix your computer, which will open the next window, where you can access the Startup Repair feature.
There, you might choose the Startup Repair option

Otherwise, it would be desirable to recover the computer laptop back to settings factory just to check if its a system single or maybe hardware problem related question

  • RN104 freezes during shutdown

new firmware now the system hangs during shutdown

There's a bit going on this system.

You have four volumes and the system is always looking for some old volumes that you used to have in the NAS.

Also I see that you are running the ReadyDLNA and iTunes Server services. You can check if the system shuts down properly if you disable these?

I see that you have installed applications for example MySQL, Transmission etc but Transmission does not appear to be installed properly. I don't see the application from the applications available in the interface of web administration or apps.readynas.com installed.

You use also some 8 TB of SeaGate disks of archives. That are not on the compatibility list.

Why the computer shuts off without warning from time to time?  When stop manually, why the screen freeze 'Windows is now Shutting Down' and then not put it off?

This looks like a problem of overheating as already indicated by Jose. I disconnect the computer from the electrical outlet, press in and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Remove the side panel from the computer and look for a dusty atmosphere. If present get a can of air compressed, available in most retail electronic dealing and purge by making sure that you get between the radiator grilles (the grid around the processor as in the picture on the link below.

  • Gel after returning from standby

    Windows 7 64 bit

I use a lot of waiting. After that I wake the computer from sleep mode, it works as expected; but sometimes, when I run a program (usually VLC), the PC freezes, more input not possible, hard power off required. This isn't a problem of input device. The power button on my computer should cause the PC to stop but does not either when the system is frozen.

If I do start VLC (or another program that causes the gel), the PC would either freeze during shutdown (power off), or follow these steps if I started the day before: the rotation of the drives down, monitors are not getting a signal more, cooling fans and the CPU fan still spinning. After about 5 minutes the PC turns off hard.

When I turn on the PC after a hard stop, the message "Windows is not stopped correctly. You want to try safe mode? »

I composed the PC myself, so I have to identify the material originally from the problem... If it was caused by the material. I know that it's not caused by my hard drives of 2 TB. I know there is a similar problem, caused by the slow rotation of the 2 TB drives implementation. I tested my system will detect the connected disks and it still frozen. Disable all startup items has not solved the problem.

Here is a list of my equipment:

    Mobo:
    980DE3/U3S3
    CPU:
    AMD FX 8320
    RAM:
    2x8GB crucial DDR3 of Sport
    Video card:
    ASUS Radeon R7260X, PCIE
    HARD DRIVE:

    Crucial MX100, SATA (SSD)

    various bis Magnetfestplatten 2 TB

    OPERATING SYSTEM:
    Windows 7 64 bit

    POWER SUPPLY:

    800W

    Yet another update:

I recently installed Windows 7 new and frost have yet taken place. Only a few programs have been used:

Chrome, Skype and VLC (since these seem to 'help' freezes)

I also tried Ubuntu, where the system does not freeze. This could be because Ubuntu uses a different expectation.

Currently I am in my old Win 7 installation and try different programs, not only not their use.

    Firefox instead of Chrome-> gel

    No VLC-> gel

    No Skype-> gel

Thus, any of these programs makes my PC freeze

ASRock (my mobo manufacturer) suspected hardware fault. Alas, I can't trace it either PSU or mobo.

Install Windows 7 from scratch, I realized sleep (aka standby) is usable only if the video card drivers are installed. It may be that this device / driver is the culprit?

Edit: it seems I found what caused the problem: Reader adobe flash (plugin). Since it is used by Chrome and firefox in watching Youtube, my system froze with the two programs. Since I updated the driver (including firefox only suggested) no more freezes have been held since a few days now. This may be premature if. I will present after a while to confirm.
Meanwhile, I post a link to a thread that seems to focus on the same problem:

Not happy with CS5... That is to say frequent freezes and shutdowns esp. when bridge and PS are open together. For the moment, but I would like to know how to put the PS as the default opener within Bridge and mini-Bridge for jpg.

Thanks for your suggestion of Curt, but that's another problem I have with the latest version of Photoshop... .going to edit/preferences freezes bridge for about 5 minutes, then it thaws. The dialog box never opens.

  • HP Envy 4500 - Scan does not, most periodic freezing

    Hello

I'm having a ton of problems with my HP Envy 4500. I will first start by scanning. First to get the "No found computer" message when you try to scan (I can print fine however). I tried HP Print & Scan doctor, he said I was not fully installed the driver. So I download the file ~ 100 MB, then it passes through basic facilities, then allows you to "Connect to printer", I'm wireless and enter the IP address (which is connected and Excellent report) and about 10 seconds later, he says: "cannot find the printer. My only options are the search, the installation program and cancel. Therefore, I can never get to install and he sends me in a loop. I also file & Printer sharing turned on with Windows 8.1, with the automatic configuration of network devices.

Since the end of the printer, I've tried manual and automatic IP and also directly connect without a bit of luck. In addition to these frustrations adds the printer freeze about every 10-15 minutes. I have to disconnect and reconnect the printer for it to work again because it is totally insensitive.

Finally, my printer indicates an update is available, so I download a driver, but it ends with the OXB82EF9BA error code. All crashes again.

I tried everything that I can for hours without success. Please notify.

    Hello Jesse_B,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you get some problems with your desire to 4500. I will do my best to help you! First of all, I need to know your operating system on the computer that is having these problems? Click here to read: Windows.

Because you are having problems with the HP software, I'll give you a few steps to help:

Please uninstall the software on your computer by following this document from HP about uninstalling the printer software. When it finished, I would like you to clean your Temp folder on your computer:

    1. click on the start menu, in search programs and files type % temp %

    2. press on Ctrl and together on your keyboard (this will highlight all)

    3. right click on your mouse and click on remove

Now, perform a clean boot on your computer by following this Microsoft document here. This will eliminate the conflicts of software that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program.

Secondly, I would like to you can use the Printer Wizard to install the full features software. This is the right software and you need to use a USB cord to perform this step. It will be much easier to find your wireless network. (It's only for the Windows operating system 7-8: 1).

If you printer is still the gel, then make sure that the printer is connected to a live wall, not a surge protector. I want to see if that makes a difference. Also, try to reset the printer for more than 60 seconds. Leave the printer turned on > unplug the power cord at the back of the printer.

You receive an error message "OX82EF9BA". This refers to an error in Windows Update. You must perform this update on your computer. Please post your results, I will be looking forward to hear from your part have a good night!

  • Envy 15-j101ex: HP Envy 15-j101ex - Windows Pro 10 x 64 - HyperV - startup freeze

I have a laptop HP Envy 15-j101ex.  It is running 64 bit Windows 10 Pro.  There the last HP BIOS: Insyde F.65

I need to turn on Hyper-V (hypervisor hyper-V).  I added the Windows features (enabled in the Control Panel Add Windows features): platform Hyper-V and the Hyper-V management tools.

Work for the Hyper-V hypervisor, virtualization hardware support must be enabled in the BIOS.  The laptop supports hardware support for virtualization.  But when "Virtualization technology" is enabled in the BIOS (with active UEFI), it ends with a freeze on startup with the circle of rotation (under the logo of HP) and the laptop won't boot.  Virtualization technology must be in the OFF position or the will of the laptop does not start.

I checked on the Microsoft site and ran the tools proposed: coreinfo.exe, check the SLAT, DEP status checked.  Everything on the laptop is as specified in the requirements for Hyper-V.

    > - what someone faced this problem?

    > all suggested fixes?

Note: I've seen suggestions to turn Bluetooth off and uninstall the driver. But if I uninstall the Bluetooth drivers, Windows will automatically reinstall the Bluetooth drivers after a reboot. And if the BT device is just disabled in Device Manager (without uninstalling drivers), problem (defective start).

    Thank you very much!

    GH

    Problem finally solved manually!

Cause: Windows 10 and HP site give BAD (old) version of the Mediatek (Ralink) drivers for this laptop HP Envy (15-j101ex).  Had to manually search for drivers updated on ALL HP websites.  And after many wasted hours (trying to locate the drivers and trying to disable bluetooth constantly) found the Mediatek drivers updated.  Please see the links below.

    Solution:

Download the drivers for the adapter Mediatek Wireless LAN RT3290:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=ob_150624_1#tab3

Download drivers for Mediatek Bluetooth adapter RT3290:

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=vc_159313_1#tab3

Install the drivers and then turn it ON "Virtualization technology" in the BIOS and you should be good to go!

HP support could be more USEFUL:

The web site for this laptop should provide access to the latest drivers for Windows 10.  And the database of drivers window must be updated so that Windows 10 provieds the LATEST drivers for HP laptops.
