I WANT HP dv6t-7300 CTO Quad Edition Notebook PC , it came with win 8 that I demoted for win 7, I received my drivers of HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC.

I have problem of heat and I want to update Bios, the current version: Insyde F.29 03/10/2013.

He tried to update pavilion dv6t-7000 me gives error message:

.. . How update the bios?

You don't Flash the BIOS unless you get the upgrade for the BIOS of the page of CTO Quad Edition Notebook PC drivers HP ENVY dv6t-7300. Since there is no upgrade BIOS listed on this page, there is no way to upgrade the BIOS. Depending on the exact systemboard and the OS that is installed on your computer, the HP part number will be something like "682174-501", which means "Windows 8 Standard / 2.0 GB of discrete video memory / 45 Watt CPU. The comparable numbers for the dv6t-7000 series is 682174-001, which means "Windows 7 / 2.0 GB of discrete video memory / CPU 45 watts.

The MAIN of the BIOS is different version, the routine will not allow BIOS flash. IF you force it, you can make your computer does not work. DO NOT try to Flash a BIOS that does not support your computer page.

  • Envy 17 3010eg: upgrade to Windows 8 and update Bios: no switchable graphics and other problems

    Hello

I'm of the Germany, but I'll do my best to write this in English.

    The product name and number: HP Envy 17 3010eg {information}

Operating system: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

    Drivers: everything up to date

    Long story short,

I just wanted to upgrade the pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit to the new Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

So I waited until the driver for Windows 8 support has been completed by HP.

This month, I noticed that HP has released a graphic driver for Windows 8.

Happy as I was I installed Windows 8 immediately via upgrade function.

I installed all the missing drivers.

    * Update Bios to F.08*

I noticed that I had to upgrade my Bios to version F.08 to install new graphics drivers. I did the upgrade and installation of the driver.

BUT after the update to the version of the Bios the laptop only F.08 recognized the AMD graphics card. The integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics card had disappeared!

Even after installing the new graphics driver, the Intel card is still missing in the 'Device Manager' of Windows 8.

The battery life is now about 1 1/2 to 2 hours maximum because the laptop always uses the card AMD.

So I looked in the 'new' Bios, but I have not found a way to change the graphics card. So I think that there is only a 'software' switch to do so.

I have installed "AIDA64"and look under "Graphics".» The graphics card Intel HD 3000 has been mentioned as 'disabled'.

Nice, but I have no idea how to turn it on again.

So I re-installed Windows 8. This time, I did a completely clean install. With the same results.

So, I switched to Windows 7, and there you go. Two graphics cards are displayed in "Device Manager" and the switchable graphics feature works perfectly (! even with the new version of the Bios F.08!).

    * Tested in Bios Version F.09*

Yesterday, I noticed another Bios Update. This time in version F.09.

So, I updated the Bios with Windows 7 installed.

    Everything went well (I thought!).

Once, I've done a completely new installation of Windows 8 to take a peek, if Intel HD 3000 card will be recognized this time.

    BUT without success...

So, I thought that the problem could only be Windows 8, because Windows 7 works perfectly.

    * Problems with Bios Version F.09*

BUT then, I noticed a strange behaviour of my laptop:

    -proximity sensor no longer works

-the keyboard backlight cannot be (DIS-) activated

-the brightness of the backlight is half as usual

-internal fans are going crazy-> they accelerate without reason (laptop is idle) and won't slow down until I do a re-boot

    * Version of the Bios downgraded to F.05*

So, I spent to the version of the Bios to the older Version available: F05

And I was a little shocked by the result.

Windows 8 acknowledged the Intel HD 3000 graphics card again!

    The problem is the Bios!

Then, I upgraded the version of Bios version to see which version of the cause of the problem:

    Œuvres F05

    Œuvres F.06

    F.08 does not work

    F.09 does not work

So I decided to stay with the version F.06

BUT to install the new Windows graphic 8 driver you need the version of Bios F.08 (min.).

    I installed the driver anyway...

I found myself with a black screen... I had to reinstall Windows completely.

    Yet more long story short,

I ended up using Windows 8 Pro 64 - bit with the graphics card AMD only.

I also updated the Bios (back) to the version F.08 dispelled the problems with the version of the Bios F.09 I mentioned.

So for the moment I am absolutely no idea what the problem might be.

The support has not yet heard of these problems and I have not found any website which explains the same problem.

Every posting, I found explains that the AMD card is not recognized by Windows 8 but Intel HD card.

Someone else got the same problems?

What do you think? Is it really a problem with the Bios?

What can I do to solve the problem?

for me the best driver are:

    http://leshcatlabs.NET/

Works Perfekt (cards during execution of the F06 BIOS and a map when F08/09) and are updated often.

  • ENVY dv6 - 7373ca: update BIOS WANT dv6

    Hello

After I managed to remove the two "unknown device" - entered the W10 Device Manager clean install thanks to this forum, I tried to upgrade to the BIOSVersion F.2D Rev a dated August 26, 2014 and listed under Windows 8 (sp68425.exe) which, according to the note, HP recommends highly.

As I was not sure if this update would work under W10, I first tried the method described (HP Notebook PC - updated BIOS) with the opening of the menu equipment Diagnostics UEFI immediately by pressing the ESC key several times, once per second, until the Boot Menu is displayed and then pressing the F2 key. But unfortunately on the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI screen of my ' WANT dv6 - 7373ca "there are only four options (1. Memory test, 2. Hard drive test, 3. Language, 4. Exit) and no option called 'Firmware Management' or 'BIOS '. Because I would have preferred a BIOS update without starting the Windows operating system, is there something I can add this missing option menu Hardware Diagnostics UEFI?

So I took the chance to run this BIOS file "sp68425.exe" in Windows 10 and everything seemed to work fine except the error message short after the new throw about 1 or 2 seconds that an error has been discovered, which needs to be solved and a percentage that was happening 100% before 10 of Windows start still.

Now, everything seems to work ok: I can access the BIOS again much easier than the old BIOS dating sometime in 2012, I can boot Windows 10 without any error message longer, I can restore my WindowsImageBackups using the repair-CD as well as well as the SystemRestoreDrive I had both created on Windows 10. And the new BIOS version number and date are displayed under the W10 and also after the start systeminfo pressing keys ESC and F1. Is there anything else I can do to check the correct functioning of the BIOS?

    Concerning

Seek and you will find what I found, it was supposed to be the latest version of "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" (v. 5.9.0.0) I installed immediately on the UEFI System Partition to update the old one in my laptop (c. 1.6.0.0). This provided the desired options '-update BIOS "and"BIOS-Rollback"after pressing the F2 key without having to start Windows or if this does ' t OS start.

  • Envy laptop: update bios still running

I got a notice from HP that there are updates for my computer. I've updated all the recommended updates, including updated Bios. After 18 hours its always updated. How long it takes and what I'm doing now is so long?

    Hello

The update should only take a few minutes, so if it worked for 18 hours, I'd say it's blocked - stop it should be Ok.

When you stopped, close HPSA and download the Bios Update from the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp75001-75500/sp75152.exe

Once the download is complete, close other open windows and programs, then open your download folder and double-click the installer to start the process.  The real flash will occur when you restart the machine - do not interrupt it somehow, even if nothing seems to be happening for a while - when it is finished, the machine will load in Windows as usual.

    Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion 500 series: updates Bios

HI I was wondering tonight in my hp support center was a significant update of the Bios I was wondering if I could please get some advice on the question of whether it is a good idea to Bios if there is nothing wrong with the Bios in the first place.  Why should I update the Bios or should I not update the Bios for my hp Desktop.

Thank you for your time and help

In general, I agree with redshore.  I'm used to be of the opinion that if everything worked as planned, then leave it alone.  Since I use a HP ENVY laptop with Windows 8.1 one year, I noticed that the HP helper has done several updates that I probably have on my own, especially updates BIOS.  I don't know why there would be many updates to BIOS, so have to asuume engineers tried to fix a problem that had been reported.  As redshore, you always stand the risk of bricking the unit with BIOS update is bad and if you read the forums here, there seems to be more those happening.

Some units now have a feature where a regime of BIOS recorvery is integrated, a good idea.  You might wise to explore your PC to see if the model you have this feature for a while where you might need.

  • confused about the want 700-074 update bios - it's for my computer?

    Hi all

I am a happy owner of a 700-074 HP Envy computer. I have a question about a recent update BIOS I've seen on the software and drivers download page on the main site HP.COM. I frequently check the site for updates of drivers and software.

The update in question is classified

Update BIOS HP Compaq consumer desktop PC (SSID family ROM 2AF3)

Although the ROMA family corresponds to the family on my computer, it lists the update of a HP Compaq computer.

This BIOS does the 700-074 want system specifically? I guess it's because it it lists to the title of the download page for 700-074 want systems. However, I don't want to patch my BIOS with the update incorrect if it is considered an error.

Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you!

    Hello @boinc127,

I understand that you are looking to confirm that the update of the BIOS HP Compaq consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (2AF3 ROM family SSID) is appropriate for your computer. As far as I can tell it's the update of the correct BIOS for your computer.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Portege 3410 - how to update BIOS and install XP?

Hello, I have two questions on Portege 3410.

First: I can't update the BIOS (current usage, 1.50 there, I want to update to 1.60). Instruction does not work: I connect Teac USB into USB port, turn on the USB - FDD emulation to activate, portable switch with pressed F12, the message «Ready to update BIOS...» "appears, I touch in a hurry, but nothing happened. What's wrong?

The other: I can't install Windows XP on laptop (it does not start from USB disk or external USB DVD drive).
    How can I install Windows?

    Thank you.
    Mikhail

    Hello

Just a question: why do you want to update the BIOS? Is this really necessary?
I ask this question because this update is always somewhat risky and you might damage it ROM module
In any case, have you tried to load the default settings in the BIOS before you start the update and install XP?

You can install XP without CD. Therefore, you must copy the folder i386 on the HARD drive from another computer and the boot to the HARD drive files, I think you need a little search with Google to find a workaround for this. You should find enough! ;)

  • Don't recharge Tecra S11-119 - updated BIOS question too!

My computer is a year. It was quite well, until I noticed that he had ceased to charge the battery. After some googling I found that there could be an update of the BIOS, that I had missed. When you try to install the BIOS update, I get a message saying I need to plug in my computer first (which is always that the dough is not a charge).

BIOS update program says he wants to be updated as follows:

BIOS version: current Ver.2.60--> updated Ver.3.20
THIS Version: Current Ver.1.80--> updated Ver.1.90

    OS: Windows 7
    BIOS file I downloaded: bios-20110714132558

Is this a known problem with a fix available?

    Hello

Are you sure that you have downloaded and used the good version of the BIOS.
I have read about similar error message and finally the used user isn't compatible BIOS.

In addition the VAP (value added package) must be installed to update BIOS! In case you, I recommend you to reinstall this tool too.

But I'm not quite sure if the BIOS update will help you solve the problem of battery m

  • Satellite P20 S203: update BIOS after version 1.70

Hello! I have a Satellite P20 - S203 BIOS is Ver1.70, published on 20/11/2003. I think there pretty outdated now, but there has been no new versions for years and I think that this great computer, despite the old, should be more supported. What I don't understand is why they made an exit for the PSP23E and not for the PSP20E, that make the differences that they should deserve to be updated bios different?

Does anyone of you know about BIOS versions after 1.70 which allow the laptop to boot from SD cards or removable media? And that the problems of the management of multiple USB devices?
    Thank you

    Hello

I use P20 over two years, without any update of the BIOS. If your device works well I recommend you to leave. Boot from the SD card is not possible and update the BIOS will not allow this.

What problem do you have with the USB devices?

  • Question about updating BIOS for my Satellite M40

So, my laptop does not start, but works recovery procedure. Support suggested me to update my Bios.
OK, given that the last time, it was easy.

    I downloaded the newsest version vor my Satellite M40 (PSM40) (1, 70 - WIN<= i="" have="" an="" ati="" grafics="" card)="" and="" extracted="" the="" bios-20070709161345.zip="">
    But there was a surprise:
Instead of getting the old data structure, as written in the FAQ update Bios
1 extract the zip file containing the BIOS upgrade to a temporary folder.
    2. in the folder temporary three subfolders will be generated. "docs", 'Update - 3.5' disc', 'Update - CD - R or CD - RW"

I get a file only: BIOS of Windows Knockhill10GV170.exe
Extraction of it I get 8 files:
    -fdbase.img
    -InsydeFlash.exe
    -iscflash.dll
    -iscflash.vxd
    -KPM170. ROM
    -Platform.ini
    -The c:\windows\system32\unicows.dll

Now my question: How can I create this bootable CD-ROM to update my Bios?

Just to know: download all the other things are done on my desktop from my laptop is not starting ;)
I also tried to run the exe in the hope that it will create a floppy disk or a CD-ROM, but it is written "basic cfg address not found."

    Hello

Update the BIOS there are two ways to do this:
-Traditional mode (TRAD) and in this case, you need floppy
-Windows (WIN) and this update can be done under operating system running.

Update BIOS WIN will work if you run Windows on your laptop satellite. If I understand your assignment well you are trying to do traditional BIOS updated, but using the BIOS to WIN update. On the Toshiba download page, there are two listed BIOS updates and two of them as versions of WIN. This means that you can update the BIOS under operating system only.

Back to your problem: in the history one thing confuses me when you write: my laptop does not start, but works recovery procedure. Sorry, but if the recovery procedure is working and you will have clean installed OS.

Be a little more concrete in our laptop does not start. What happen exactly when you press the power button / stop?

  • Satellite T135 - update BIOS 2.70 won't be finished

I have a Satellite T135 Win7 running with an original BIOS that I'm moving to 2.70. I ran all the other software updates in Service Station (2.1.51) with no problems. but the BIOS downloads 2.7, initiates and cautions that I'll need to reboot (I select Yes to execute) and receive notice of popup on the electrical problem (defective DC) which corrects this BIOS, then nothing. It just stops.

I disabled my firewall windows antivirus, but the update is still unable to fill. I downloaded the file directly from Toshiba (outside the Service Station) and run the file and exactly the same thing happens.
The event viewer shows all the related entries.

Anyone has an idea on how to get the updated BIOS up-to-date?

    Hi mwarwick,

Did you install any new version of package of added value of the Web from Toshiba site? This program is necessary if you want to update the BIOS to check if you have installed the latest version.

In addition I recommend you load the default settings in the BIOS before doing the update. Then, go into the BIOS, press F9 to load the default values, save & exit it.

Can update you the BIOS now?

  • Update BIOS Z830 satellite

Hi, everyone tried to upgrade the BIOS Z830.
After I rebooted, I get a message to insert an original disc of Windows, but Z830 has no optical drive and more I don't have a Windows disk, since that it is pre-installed?

I went back to the store and they plugged the USB optical drive with an OEM of Windows version and I entered my ultrabook, but a day later I got the same message to insert an original disc of Windows after a re-boot without me even trying to upgrade the BIOS, it seems that the upgrade of the BIOS did not the first time!

Why update BIOS asking for an original Windows disc? Any thoughts? Thaks!

    Hello

    Please try this:
    Switch on and press F2.
This should allow you to access the BIOS.
Press F9 BIOS this will outline the BIOS default settings. Press F10 to save the changes.
    Now start the machine.

If you will not be able to start Windows. Try this:
Turn on the computer and press F8.
Now you should see a menu of advanced boot.
Here choose fix my computer-> drive HARD recovery.

HARD drive recovery will start the recovery procedure, without the use of all disks.
This will help you define the laptop back to factory settings.

    Hope this can help you.
