  • Put Windows 7 on hp envy 17 Quad t - now USB no longer works!

    Hello

I just got a HP Envy 17 Quad t, which came with Windows 8 on it.  I'm not a fan of him, so I installed Windows 7 instead.  After installation do not work many things, as expected, but I was able to install drivers windows 7 for them and got all the functions that have been lost so far, I have noticed to rework except my USB ports.  I tried two different drivers of these boards with no joy.  If someone has the right driver, so I can get USB up and running would be extremely appreciated!

    Thank you

    Max

OK, was able to fix it myself after a few hours of really messing around.  (I'm not a computer guy, so this announcement to other experts).

First of all, I went on the Intel site and updated the chipset driver, once again.  This fixed the problem of Bus SM.

Second, I had to find the driver 5227 RTS for the card reader from RealTek PCIE, which I couldn't find on the site from RealTek but through multiple searches on Google using the portion of the id of material only up to '... in the end 5227."it's strange, because another driver RealTek PCIE card reader worked before Win7 updates, but that even the driver did NOT work thereafter.

Then he got even more bizarre, to me at least.  The I need drivers were all there in Device Manager, no more yellow triangles, but I plugged my external hard drive on a USB port on the right side of my computer and nothing.  The way in which my office is set up I really only use this side.  Exasperated I tried the USB port on the left with another device.  Alto!  It took.  I had to plug my external hard drive in the left side first and could then unplug and install it on the right side and it worked.  No idea why it would need with one side first, then don't work both sides.  I waited a long time when I plugged it on the right side first before trying the left where he recognized immediately, then immediately recognized on the right after that.

  • HP 4500 ENVY: ENVY 4500 is offline now

I had problems with the HP ENVY 4500 since we bought this year (we returned the premiera). He said it was offline for the first time a few days after we have received it. I've used this forum and it fixed via the post of ladies on adding a Port, then worked for a few weeks but now has stopped...

I reinstalled the printer that I didn't understand why I had problems in the first place - it worked for a day before declaring again offline.

I tried to turn everything off and on = did not work

I used the links in other post and update records and information of technical support = failed

I tried to Add Port, which does not work for some reason any = failed

I do not have a USB wire, do not know if it came with one?

Another thing, I try (apart from the purchase of a canon )?

    Hey @CSC41,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you have some problems with printing from your PC for Windows 8.1 to your craving 4500 e - all - in - one printer. I can help you with that.

First of all, so I know not where the problem is I'd like you to check if you have a blinking blue light blue or solid on the printer.

If you have no blue light or one blue light flashing, then you have a wireless issue. To resolve this issue:

On the printer, click on the wireless icon that looks like a radio tower.

Press the button "-" next to settings.

Go to the Wireless Setup Wizard and press OK.

If you have a solid blue light, then you have a software problem. To resolve this issue:

Go to your search bar and type in devices.

    Click devices and printers.

In this window right click on all the icons with a picture of your printer or has a name similar to 4500 envy.

    Click on remove the instrument.

Repeat for all other printers listed.

    Click Add a printer.

Select your printer from the list and click Next.

Try to print once you are done with the above.

This should allow you to print. Please let me know what happens when you follow these instructions. If necessary that will give me more information to help you further.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a wonderful evening!

  • The HP Envy 17 DVD/BR disc stuck eject mechanism?

I had a HP Envy 17 for a few years and all of a sudden when I tried to insert a DVD disc in the DVD/BR drive, I couldn't drive to go. Mechanically there's something blocking his way, and I think it might be the eject mechanism.

The drive itself is visible in Explorer and see it all requests for problem solving, but I have no idea how to do to reset the eject mechanism. Hard reset does not help, nor the withdrawal of the devices drive before resetting.

The question is: can I somehow get the mechanism automatically resets or I'm in a hurry to buy an external hard drive?

    Ok.
In this case replace the drive or using a reader external DVD will be the solution (s).

The DVD player for the envy is an expensive one.

    Best regards

  • Want J020dx: Power cord for HP Envy 17 "J020DX question, urgent pls!

    Hi all

I have a HP envy 17 "J020dx, and now I'm in Australia, where I couldn't use the previous/power cord, and the problem is I could not find the adapter Plug and will be stuck in this situation for a while.

I managed to find another power cord that fits into my diet, but said cord 2. 5A / 250v while the previous cord was 7 a/125 v, Australia 240V voltage.

Sorry, I could not remember the requirement of entry written on my power adater ampere, but the voltage is 100-240v.

It is, it will work cord aussie safely? Thank you very much!

    Hello

Your question gave me a chance to look at my laptop at home now. %0% of them use 2. 5A - 240V cords others use a 5, 7. 5a and 10 to the cords. I also turned my HP Envy 17 t loan charger and requires 1.5 a entry. What I see: 2.5 a input cord 1. 5A charger is ok.

    Kind regards.

  • Split Envy 15-J170us touchscreen

    Hello

I bought a laptop HP Envy 15-J170us that now has a cracked touch screen. I don't know how he snapped, I put in my padded PC backpack and place it on the back of my car, with nothing on it, and when I opened it he had several cracks in the display radiating from a micro holes (at least I guess it those are a micro holes) in the top of the glass. If this could be covered by my warranty, that would be great, but if not, I need to know how I can get the touchscreen replaced.

    Thank you

    Mathew Pierce

I am an employee of HP.

If you purchased the plan of protection against accidental damage, then this would have covered under this plan. This is not covered under the standard warranty.

You can go to the manuals section and download the maintenance and the Guide Service, which has the part number and the procedure to replace the screen:

  • Hinge HP Envy Dv7 problem

I bought my HP Dv7 Envy around 2 years now and the laptop itself works very well as usual. However, a year after his life, just after the warranty expired - the left hinge problem that seems HP Envy laptops computers riddle has occurred, causing damage to the carcass and the laptop overheating.
It was repaired by HP, but now the question is back again - causing my case crack and crack whenever the laptop is open and to substantially increase the heat of the laptop even during low stress activities, but also a slight separation between the base and the screen of the laptop and the screen "dive" to the left.

Student, money is quite difficult to find being and pay fix the obvious flaw in the design of HP laptop is not plausible, especially if the problem is recurring. Should what course of action I take? I am not happy with my also portable to the same problems that were laid off under "faulty subwoofer" last time.

  • Incompatible cartridge envy 4507 at initial start-up

Hi, first time here. I just opened the box on a brand new hp envy 4507.
I'm stuck at the first hurdle! I inserted the ink cartridges supplied with the printer and the screen bed "incompatible cartridges not intended for the use of this printer.
In case of problems on the website says to clean the contacts by using the items, that I have not at hand. As it is just out of the box, I'd be surprised if that's the problem. They look perfectly clean and free of scratches, etc.
Just wondering if someone else has had this problem at the initial start up. The impression that I'm maybe something wrong.
I took the stickers protection out of the cartridges, I tried switching market. I looked at the contacts.
Is there something that I am missing?

    Thanks for any help.

Your welcome, glad it's working now.

Gremlins at work or possible tip dry for the flow of ink that has decided to go down with repeated removal and insertion of the cartridge.  Has been known to occur when the cartridge is approaching the expiration date.
