HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO Notebook: HP Envy My network adapter does not support gigabit speeds. Is there an upgrade available?

My HP Envy 15 t-k000 works very well, but it is slow. I thought it was my internet until I did some troubleshooting and discovered that I don't get the super fast speed that I'm supposed to receive this is because my computer does not have a fast enough network adapter. He's currently the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 it came with. I watched the maintenance manual and could not find an upgrade. Is there a module I can replace with allowing for speeds 1 G?

The part number for the laptop is G0T55AV.

Thank you!

Hello:

The adapter you mentioned... Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 is the wireless network card, and I do not think that this card connects everything faster than 72 Mbps.

Your laptop comes with the card Realtek 10/100 ethernet (wired) and it cannot be upgraded because the ethernet chip is part of the motheboard.

If you want a gigabit ethernet connection, so I advise you to buy an external USB to RJ-45 gigabit ethernet adapter.

You won't find any wireless card that will go beyond the rate of 867 Mbps AC, and you would need a router ca to achieve these speeds.

You would also dismantle the entire notebook to replace the wireless card and if your laptop has a single antenna attached to the atheros wireless network card, you will not be able to upgrade to the fastest wireless card.

A proper AC map would be the Intel 7260 wireless card if your mobile phone has two antennas attached to the atheros card.

    Hello

If you definetely can't get HP recovery media, here are a few suggestions.

    1. if you live in the United States, try the 3rd dealer part on the following link.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/default.aspx

2 as long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after upgrade from 8.1, you can simply perform a new installation of windows 10 as stated in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO: can I install an mSATA ssd in my HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC?

Can I install an mSATA ssd in my PC HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO Notebook? Added a SDS SATA 250 GB and 8 GB memory chip today but don't can find any way to add also a 250 GB mSATA SDS. I looked on the side in front and back of the system board.

I would return the mSATA EVO 840 Samsung SSD, I bought from Newegg?

The repair is no help whatsoever. It is said a WSSD m2 is supported 'model', but there is no picture of it in the manual or the indication when it is on the models 'select '. Those who have it use a version of m2 (connector three blades 2 not) so your Evo 840 would not work even if you had one of the models 'select '. I think that on those who have it that the port m2 is located on the motherboard so if you don't see it you are not among the selection.

For the HP ENVY 17 - k000 Notebook PC model, there is No second Bay of disc - hard

Your model is customized model ("17 t-k000 CTO") this series of basic model, it will not be a secondary HARD drive Bay.

To confirm, you will need to open & see-

To get into the HARD drive, you have to-remove the battery, the optical drive, rear corner covers, hood & USB card.

  • Laptop HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO: add additional SSD for HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

    Hello.

I have my laptop new HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) yesterday itself. He already have writer BRD. Can I replace my BRD burner with extra HD SSD? If yes what is the procedure for that?

You can, but you shouldn't. The port for the optical drive is a SATA-I have the interface. Slower than the port for HDD/SSD. So if you want to just add storage put a regular mechanical training in an optical drive adapter. Also any drive in the optical drive adapter will not be bootable. This will help you:

Open windows control panel, open programs and features, make entry for HP SimplePass right click and select uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download the version of HP SimplePass on the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

  • HP envy 17: HDMI sound does not work on laptop

After I've updated from windows 8.1 for windows 10 sound is no longer passes through hdmi to my tv. I tried to update the drivers, it says that the driver is up-to-date, but it gives an error that
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    The requested operation failed.
    the hardware id is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_8086 & DEV_2807 & SUBSYS_80860101 & REV_1000

    Hello:

Here's what I recommend you try...

Since you have the video through the HDMI output port, let's don't mess with the real graphic part of the driver.

Download and install this free utility for files.  The 2nd item in the list is 64-bit.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7 - Zip, download, but are not run graphics driver Intel W10 support for your laptop and driver page...

This package provides the driver that allows graphics Intel high definition (HD) in the notebook models that are running an operating system supported. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

    File name: sp72370.exe

After you download the graphics driver above, right-click on it and select 7 - Zip from the list options.

Have 7-Zip extract of: and let it extract the driver in its file name (sp72370).

After the file has been extracted in its driver's record, go to the Device Manager and click on the audio device Intel HDMI problem.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

Select her browse my computer for driver software option and browse to your folder of driver that 7-Zip created.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC, and I hope that you will have audio and video through the HDMI out port.

  • HP Envy 4501: Ink cartridge does not

HP has changed the design of cartridges HP 61xl some time ago.  The new version works in older printers but new printers (for example, envy 4501) will no longer accept new versions of the cartridge. • HP envy Phoenix: win 7 does not start with connected external hard drive

I have a desktop HP Envy Phoenix with i7 chip and an SSD for the OS.  If I connect via USB external drive of 3 TB WD for the backup of the system does not start while it is attached.  The pc seems to be trying to boot from the outside, can't find the OS and does not start.  It will start fine with small external drives connected.  It is the size of the disk? Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello

The WD drives seem to pose problems of my potential.  I have used other brands such as Seagate and Hitachi without running into problems with external USB drives causing the system to boot.  Maybe it's the USB adapter that I use which does not cause starting problems.

    @tpetras

I used the adapter HP USB 3, which uses drivers NEC or TI and has never had a problem starting via a USB external (non - WD) readers.

  • HP Envy 14 HEADSET MICROPHONE DOES NOT WORK

Hi, I have a HP Envy 14-1111 nr laptop computer with Windows 7 and I always had problems with working microphones. I plug in my headphones and put plugs in the appropriate ports, including through taking Mic in port with a picture of a headset/microphone. I also put the audio plug on the correct port.

The audio still works fine I can hear things properly from the helmet. But the microphone NEVER WORKS. I made sure the microphone is on and I put the headset microphone as the default recording device, and made sure it's not muted and even tried like 3 different types of helmets, but it still does not work.

My computer recognizes my headset has a microphone when I plug it, because the independent headset appears on my recording devices. But any point the noise I into the microphone, my computer does not recognize him. Basically, it is saying that it cannot detect all the sounds of the mic.

It's incredibly frustrating because I spent money on different microphones, but now I think it's the fault of my computer. Is there something wrong with the microphone/headphone jack? What can I do to fix this?

    Thank you.

Solution: the HP Envy laptop is not a microphone jack, it has a "headphone" which is designed to work with smartphones.

In order to use a headset with microphone with this computer, you need a conversion cable so that you can convert your helmet at the exit of the smartphone. I just ordered it on amazon, it should be here soon.

    Hello people,

I know it took a lot, but I find a hard time to see the correct answer specially for my device

I have a HP ENVY 15 laptop that has a hard workout 931 GB Hitachi-HGST SCSI Disk Device (SATA).  What are the compatible SSD should I buy to replace this drive?

Is it good to buy hybrid SSDHD like the seagate one? http://www.Seagate.com/internal-hard-drives/solid-state-hybrid/laptop-solid-state-hybrid-drive/

    Any recommendations?

Sorry that I've never tested with hardware before however, I wanted to update until the initialization of the time takes about a minute since it has a core i7 intel and 8 GB of RAM.

    Thank you

    Reinoa

The best consumer SSD there is a Samsung 850 Evo. It will have the same physical dimensions as a hard drive. 2.5 inches wide and 7 mm thick. A 7mm form factor fits anywhere the will of 9.5 mm. The connectors and mounting holes are in the same places so that they are interchangeable.
