HP ENVY 17 Notebook (G0U27AV): Access HDD on HP Envy 17 G0U27AV

I would install an SSD in my laptop Envy 17, however after watching the under side cover, I am puzzled because it seems there is no Panel to remove. Any help appreciated.

I think it's the Maintenance Manual appropriate for your model. Replacing the hard drive is not an easy task.

It would be much cheaper for you to get a hard drive from one supplier other than HP.

Probably, your laptop hard drive is 120 GB.  111 f is available net space.

    Hello

Here is the information of HP for a messeage their recovery partition low disk space.

It shows you how to access the recovery Partition.

If you can't fix it with this information, you will need to contact HP.

I explained why in the section General information of my answer here.

«Error: low disk space.» You run lack of disk space on recovery (d :))"

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c01508532&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en

It is general information about what to and what not to do with a recovery Partition:

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    It's F11 for a HP machine

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

It shows you how to build links in this HP:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

    Hello

The Qosmio G50-12 q seems to be equipped with 2 hard drives.
I guess the first HARD disk is partitioned into two partitions and the second HDD is not partitioned.

  • Re: Satellite C850D-109

    Hello!

    I'm helping a friend with a Satellite C850D-109.
It takes forever to start up and are generally slow.

I read somewhere that I have to make some changes in the BIOS, but I'm not able to get.
    I tried Ecs, F2, F10, F12, etc. nothing.
The HWsetup won't work at all.

    Help!

    Hello

You do not need to change anything in the BIOS.
I assume you are using Windows 7, which has been pre-installed by Toshiba.
It might be possible that the system is confused many tools and utilities are running in the background and are loaded during system startup.

The simpler procedure would be the recovery of the system.
This procedure would reset the system and the computer laptop back to factory settings, but would also be to format the HARD drive. Therefore, the backup of the data would be necessary before you run the recovery process.

However, you may start the recovery as described here:

If HARD drive recovery is not too bad, then you can recover the laptop without the use of the recovery diskette.

    Hello

It would be very helpful if you could post your model mobile exact.

If your computer is portable wasn t comes with CD or DVD I guess you can create yourself such a disc, but you can also use HARD drive recovery option but it depends on your laptop model:

    Hello

The recovery disk was not provided with the laptop because there is a tool called Toshiba Recovery disk Creator that allows you to create a recovery disc!
Please check if you can create a recovery disk using this tool!

If this is not possible, then you can check if the HARD drive recovery is available.

  • What improvements does 3.7 BIOS for Tecra M series contains

    Hello

I'm about to change the hard drive of 80 GB for a Toshiba MK5055GSX, a disc with allegedly similar to the original, including the freefall (FFS) sensor which I assume is the same Easyguard installation in the existing drive.

I have also updated the BIOS from 1,5 to 3,7 WIN because I assume that the original BIOS could not manage one as large as 500 GB drive.

Can someone tell me what improvements are included in WIN 3.7 and if it will show a half-terabyte disk?

    Thank you

    RAG

    Hello!

First of all you should tell us what phone you have because there are so Tecra M portable computers on the market.

The next point is that a BIOS update doesn't improve the compatibility of the HARD drive. It s based on the hardware of the computer laptop if your computer supports a 500 GB HARD drive or not. If you have a SATA port, it should be possible to use as on the SATA interface, there is no capacity limit. On the notebooks with IDE HDD, there is a limitation of LBA 28 bits and there you can use hard disks up to 128 GB.
If you want to learn more about this limitation, I can recommend this interesting site: [www.48bitlba.com]

Finally, and especially if there is a BIOS change log available, you'll find it on the Toshiba site. If you can find t he a change log is not available. All that s!

    Good bye
