HP Envy 5300: cat

Hello:

I'm interested in placing the text on the page using printer HP Envy series 5530.

Size of my stationery is 6 1/4 "x 9", but closer to you in the settings of Advanced Document 5300 is 8 "x 10".  Just choose this option, and then adjust the margins of MS Word / until things font size print OK?

Seems the painstaking process because once you select 'print' in MS Word, preview of files before printing, i.e. If want to look with different paper formats, in Advanced Document settings, first of all. I missing something here, or is this the only way?

Thank you

MJD-

Hi @mjd_vmd,

Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I understand you are trying to print on stationery 6 1/4 "x 9" with your printer HP Envy 5530. I am pleased to see that for you!

According to the Specifications of the printer, it is a paper size not supported for this printer. The paper sizes supported are:

B5 (ISO) - 176 x 250 mm (6.93 x 9.84 in)

Japanese postcard - 100.1 x 148.1 mm (3,94 x 5.83 in)

As a possible workaround, you can try to assign another driver, following the instructions of Windows 8 in this post How to assign drivers to Print in different Versions of Windows, by @Shane_R. As they work on Windows 10. And then you can try a custom paper size.

Otherwise, please use the paper sizes supported as shown above.

If it helps, please consider clicking on "accept as a solution." And, please click the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

Hope this information is useful and have a beautiful day!

  • HP Envy 5300: HP Envy 5300 and connection of Windows 8 stall

I wanted my 5300 put in place on my wifi without problem for a few months after I bought it. However, aftering installing some updates from HP, the connection between the computer and the printer played upward. I received a message from the printer offline whenever I try to print something. I need to turn off the printer and on again until it will register as a "Loan" and print my documents. I tried to keep the printer off and only turn it on when I need to print something. However, this does not change it. I'm waiting for the printer can be powered on and click on print to say the printer is offline. I don't understand this at all!

I have my Windows system to date, and every time the center of update Hp tells me there's an update I install it. I run the HP Plugin App on my Android phone and have no problem printing off my phone to the printer, I do not have to restart every time, is certainly not a problem with the connection with the router.

Is someone can you please tell me what I can do to stop this? It drives me batty whenever I have to restart the printer, especially if I'm across the House to the printer with my laptop (which is most of the time!)

    Thanks in advance

I found the solution on another topic, I had to change the port to a port TCP Std and now he never shows it as offline, waking up from sleep to print a document. =)

  • HP Envy 2 x 13D: envy x 2 13D - Intel HD Graphics 5300 Driver for Windows 10

So far, HP has not published a driver for the Intel HD Graphics card 5300 in Windows 10.  Since the upgrade, I can no longer connect to any external, physically connected or wireless screen.  I found the driver on the Intel site and tried to install it, but the installation failed, indicating that HP uses a customized version of the driver.  Does anyone have an idea when HP will broadcast this driver?  I NEED to be able to connect to external screens!

UPDATE: a recent update of Windows 10 has solved the problem.  All the display features has been restored.  I accepted the risk when I updated for Windows 10 this day here, he was released, but was very concerned that HP and. Al. had so much on their plate with large hardware platforms on the market and very focused on the R & D for future compatibility, that they don't move to my problem very quickly, with others * light * but very real fear that she slips under the radar altogether.

Moral of the story: when you accept something as risky and Act, do not whine when things don't bounce your way.  Well, that and check with your OEM for any problems before the update (HP had identified this problem on their web site).  Kudos to Intel and HP for their commitment to make their hardware work perfectly with Windows 10.  If you are in the same boat I was in there with a different issue, please be patient.  Chances are that they are working on it.  I understand that HP is one of only a few suppliers to go "all-in" on compatibility with Windows 10 early.  I was runningn the Technical Preview of Windows 10 on another HP laptop for many months old people.  When I updated to the final version of the operating system, I have not had any hardware compatibility problems, which frankly surprised me.

And BIG kudos to Microsoft for an amazing OS.  With only a few trouble minors (not to mention the fear of initial hardware compatibility), they really got this one right, IMHO.

  • env y 4 (DV4 5300) ID of Bus series universal usb 3.0 controller

    Hi all

I received my new desire 4 DV4 5300 with windows 8. I decided to install Windows 7. Everything was installed successufully, but USB 3.0 controller (USB 3.0 ports on the left do not work).  I forgot to write down of the maid, the USB 3.0 controller model before I deleted Windows 8.

Can you just reply with the manufacturer, the model of USB 3.0 or any USB controller in your dv4 5300 desire (Envy 4)?

It does not matter if you're running Windows 8.  I just need the information to find the right driver for the USB 3.0 controller in Windows 7.

BTW, install W7 was not really complicated.  Find the drivers was :-).

    Thank you.

It's Intel usb 3.0 and you can try this driver:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104873-1 & CC = US & DLC = in & LC = on & os = 4063 & Product = 5278243 & sw_lang =

There is another model that has drivers Win7 and Win8 posted. You need no driver usb 3.0 for Windows 8 as he took her "native" usb 3.0 support. Windows 7 not so... needs driver.

Unfortunately, 8Gb is the maximum ram (IE 2 x 4 GB modules) which can be installed in the machine - I have used the same model exactly myself.

This can also be confirmed on the following link.

When I plug the computer recognizes only a helmet but there it lists as disconnected. It is said that the same thing in regards to playback sound however I can hear through the headset. • Pavilion 6610f desktop: HP Envy & WARNING: drive hard Imminent failure (please backup and replace immediately!)

Recently, I had 2 different cats with HP Tech Reps in which they used their remote control programs to check on the problems that I had with my new HP Envy 5560 all-in-one.  The next day, at the start of my desktop PC, I got the warning message: "" imminent hard drive failure: if it please take a full backup and replace immediately. "" I did a scan from HP and it showed nothing wrong. There are no pop icons - up or whatever it is on my desktop screen to indicate a problem.  The hard Seagate I have is only 1 years and 89% free space left on it and there is no problem, other than being slow sometimes, before the cats remote and the PC warning.  I came to the forum looking for answers, and the first thing I noticed was a post to say today 09/04/2015 Bent Canuck: "HP Envy Hard Drive Failure" at 06:22. What a coincidence. Think are?  Only some 20 hours from the time I myself first 'hard drive Imminent failure warning' and only about 40 hours after the remote programs have been downloaded (twice) and the rep tech, taking control of my computer (twice).

I ran all the diagnostics that my intermediate PC experience tells me to do.  I checked in the BIOS and I checked all the HP, troubleshooting, etc. on the Assistant HP program performance. I can find no reason for the hard drive to be failing.  I didn't notice it do anything else to be a little slow to start sometimes and slow to load stuff onto the internet, I have assumed it was probably malware and spyware that I must find a way to remove at one point, but I have received no warning about things either.  I get the same caveat and I did a full back, but...

Can someone tell me what to do or how to check and see what the problem is until I have to just chuck the drive because of this warning?

Thank you for the additional information.

Did you run the BIOS CHIP to test your hard drive?  Also, I don't think that the added hard disk HP software had nothing to do with the message you receive.

  • 24 - n014 envy: install windows Clean 10

So bought this computer yesterday. Love despite the slow HD. No problem. Ill throw in my SSD to my laptop. Now can not activate. No Microsoft Help, no help from Hp other then the cat to call and get help for a fee, or talk to microsoft. The license is stored on the motherboard? Really? Went with HP because of the past support... Bad form...

@nrschoen: what you miss, is that the key to particular product, while being stored in firmware UEFI on the motherboard, is linked to a specific version of Windows on a specific computer.

You just can't move a disc, hard drive or SSD, with a Windows installation to another machine and expect to work or activate.

In addition, product keys on OEM machines are tied to this machine, so while you might put a blank SSD in envy, reinstall the OS of HP recovery media, then THAT would activate because the version of the OS in the HP Media matches the product key in the machine version.  But, moving from an existing installation from another machine will not work.

  • My Book 3.0 (1 TB, USB 3.0) detection with envy Phoenix 810-135qe problem

I have a My Book 3.0 (1 TB, USB 3.0)... The older My Book not the newest one... "My Book Essential" or something like that.

I used it with W7 x 64 backup utility on an older office of the HP (HP Pavilion a6560t) without problem until my new HP Envy 810-135qe happened. I downloaded the latest drivers from WD support and the PnPed thing very well off the non powered USB 3.0 at the rear of the 810. However, the 810 gives up the connection after sleep, hibernation, lock, or simply over time. I ran diagnostics on the WD and cables, all the beautiful removed. I tried cutting power saving s 3.0 to USB in device (just a guess) Manager, and that seemed to work for a few weeks, but I still have the problem of detection from time to time. All my drivers are up to date on the HP circuit. I completely reformat the WD now to see if that would solve the question somehow (I'll update in the next few days on how that worked).

Someone has an idea what is wrong? I suspect something with the BIOS. HP chat support has been no help (they go through the same checks that I've done myself) and they got really scary on another cat when I asked about adding an SSD as boot drive (I knew it was a problem of here and other forums)... Set myself to second level support, and all what they told me it is that they could not tell me something... Basically, not support for a config except for how they were shipped because it's a "customized" version (Yes, time to chagrin of the buyer).

Second, anyone running a similar config with a remote backup that works well? My WD is getting old so I thought one of the more recent portable USB 3.0 hard drives (2.5-3.5). My features to follow.

  • HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition: upgrade of the current HARD drive

I have HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition laptop which currently has a 1 to 5400 RPM HARD drive. I'm looking to upgrade to SSD drive and need help with the following responses

    (1) the laptop does support more than 512 GB since the laptop computer maintenance document lists (and does not) support max 512 GB

    (2) any 2.5 SATA 3 SSD should work with the configuration given my laptop as long as its not more than 9.5 mm thick. Please confirm.

I was chatting and asking for a response for the last month 1 HP support and I have not received a positive response. Forums suggest that capacity any no where like the cat and people on HP customer service gave the following answer.

The manual list only up to 512 GB because that's all there was when the laptop was sold or just would not be a market for the 1 TB SSD. Not too long ago, they were $7-800 and beyond almost anyone means. But there is no reason that your laptop can not run a 1 TB SSD. Also, you are right. All SATA 2.5 inch wide SSD will work as long as it's not more than 9.5 mm thick. These days, almost all of them are 7 mm. I would recommend a Samsung 850 Evo but there are a lot of good ones out there. We had a set of trouble on the series MX Crucial reports, however.

  • HP ENVY 17 Notebook: HP support Assistant constantly reported as 'Stopped working' in the reliability report

System recovered 5 days ago and reinstalled personal software. (HP 17 t-k000 CTO/Win 64 bit 8.1Pro)

Almost immediately HP Support Assistant would communicate with HP Server. The program has been downloaded and reinstalled more than a dozen times during the 5 days... .rebooting every time between installs / deletion. Download from different places in the website of HP... but always version 7.7.34.34A. HP cat could not help... like that, the program worked for a few minutes, even though I showed the tech "reliability report". (it's a play on words!)

After recovery was over and I used S.A. to update the operating system. The first time I used the program offered to me by 14 updates (so I guess that the program was "not" long before I got the operating system)... the program has shown the updates have been downloaded, but each time the update failed to install (X) next to the icon of installation. Restart the program again and selecting 'Check the HP updates now'... after displaying little pictorial showing ets connection/download... Returns a message... "No updates available". AND a new error is reported to the report reliability with the date and time. Now, in the last day or so IE11 has stopped responding... see below... Even typing this proved difficult because the page no longer!

Today, the Web page for this laptop shows there are 2 BIOS update F34A (May 22, 2015) and F.09 Rev.A (16 April 2015), but as there is no update available via S.A. I haven't installed these either... my latest information installed BIOS is F.34, 19/12/2014!

Battery/power cycling has solved nothing... "sfc/scannow" shows no error in operating system,.

    All suggestions accepted

    Thank you

    @Stu2009

Thank you for all the useful information. However, there is something that you're not quite right about. It is true that normally the default account created on a system, is normally an administrator account. However as a safety device which is part of the User Account Control (UAC), he essentially keeps running as a common user, then on an administrator account.

You can turn off UAC (I would not recommend that), or you can find the executable file of your programs, right click and compatibility mean that it runs as an administrator by default.

Most of the time that you actually benefit from privileges program not raise unnecessary, however. Only a handful of things really really need to access that provides the "Run as Administrator".

With regards to the BIOS, I would recommend that you try only a BIOS update if you are running in regular broadcasts normally. A wrong BIOS update can become a "brick" that requires a replacement of the Board of Directors, so for me it's one of those things you do only as a last resort, or if it's part of a fix recommended a functional system.

As these updates from CyberLink you can always try to install it manually if you need, since the support page for your system. And let me know if they still appear in HPSA, after a manual installation.
