    ·          The question started after the screen was broken?

Step 1: I suggest you to connect an external monitor and see if the problem still occurs.

Step 2: Disconnect any external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except the keyboard and mouse) and then start.

    @Albert5

The question of the hinge on the Evny of HP is well known to HP, and yet they refuse to do much, if anything, to this subject.  If you are in warranty, they will typically set for free, no questions asked.  Out of warranty, however, it's like a completely different society.  They will be responsible of very varying amounts, from $130 to $300 to fix their own design flaw.   Here is a link to a long thread that I started to update others on the issue and my relationship with HP:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/defective-hinges-on-HP-laptops-envy/m-p/5378336#M204440

We hope that you will find useful information.  As further evidence that HP is aware of their own design flaw, the new 17 "want to have a case completely redesigned with a much better hinge.

    Good luck!

  • Help! Disable the touch screen on Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4

Hi, I have a problem, try to disable the touch screen of the Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 function in Windows 8... I was looking for an answer on how to do it, but I did not find anything. I tried the method of the control panel > hardware and sound > pen and touch and then disable the option "use your finger as input device", but this option is not there for me! If anyone knows how to do this, I would be very grateful.

    Hello

I have another type of TouchSmart, but this may work for you:

    1. Press Windows + X logo.
    2. Select Device Manager from the list.
    3. Click on the small arrow next to Interface devices to expand the list.
    4. Click the touchscreen driver (in my case, Voltron NextWindow touch screen).
    5. Right click and select disable from the list.
    6. Click Yes in the dialog box that asks you if you are sure you want to disable the touch screen driver.

When you want your touchscreen to work again, follow the above procedure, EXCEPT when right-clicking on the touch screen driver, select enable.

  • Trying to find advanced settings of the BIOS on my envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4

I'm trying to locate my envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 power management settings.   I am running the Insyde BIOS verision F.23.  When I open the BIOS to F10 (I also tried F10 + A with no result) before starting the only options are to hand, security, System Config. in and out.  Is anyway to get the advanced settings in the BIOS?  Thank you.

    Woodyzen3000,

I understand that you are looking for the power management option in the bios.

After doing some checking this bios has no option for the management of food as some old versions of some time got back on our old systems. I was actually able to get their hands on a similar Ultrabook built with the same version of the bios and the options are no longer present.

It is possible that perhaps a next version will be the available option. In order to keep an eye on this link because the future updates to the bios would be here. You simply enter the product number, and then select your operating system.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.

    Thank you

  • HP envy m6 hp divided start and divide the game

    Hello
My Hp had two symbols of Hp on its splash screen for the past month and it does not seem like a problem.
I downloaded steam yesterday and during the execution of a game (TF2), he had the same problem split screen (identical to the commissioning model.)
I tried to restore my computer laptop for when I updated to windows 8.1 but that did not fix the problem.
The screen is great for any other desktop apps etc work fine.
The screen is divided into four. Two sets of filters, then two screens half on the right.
    Anyone know a workaround?
    Much appreciated,
    Jack

I know this post is a bit old but I just fell on the same problem on my laptop (m6 1205dx Envy). After one day it suddenly divided into only 4 screens as the Photo posted. The warranty has just expired so I took to a local PC repair shop and told me that the graphics card was good, but the screen had to be replaced. The quote I received was for $ 160 and work about $ 200 for a new screen! plus tax I was looking at over $ 400 only, I went and bought a new laptop instead, because I was taking courses online and could not be without. It was an Asus - very cheap - and was not as nice as envy. In addition, I had just dropped over $ 700 on this laptop a year earlier. PC Repair man AND the Frys guy who sold me my new laptop is difficult to replace the screen and the computer is pretty much a lost cause after that the screen turns off. Buuuut, I ordered a new screen anyway and seen a vid from youtube (check laptopscreen.com) on how to to replace and it seemed easy so I started to take off the old screen. Well, I noticed that it was not plugged into the socket (from the screen for the rest of the computer) very well so I fixed it and re-recorded it. After that the screen worked fine. I returned the other laptop, canceled the order for a new screen, restored my data files to my desire and a mere 12 hours later... I'm exhausted. Even if the screen needs to be replaced - its easy and is only about $55. IM horrible with computers and I always got. Just be careful and watch the videos. It may just be that the PIN is loose. Hope this helps at least one person save time and money on the outrageous costs of computer repair.

  • Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook - boot from Usb Flash or optical drive

I just this envy Touchsmart Ultrabook (14 inches) with 8 win and it works very well, but one thing that I can't make it work is to be able to boot from a USB stick or a cd usb player.  This system doesn't have a built-in optical drive.

I changed the configuration Bios Boot UEFI for Legacy and also re arranged the boot order so the USB drives are before the internal hard drive.  I also tried to change setting USB 3 auto... still not able to boot from a usb device.

Both the usb flash drive and cd drive to boot on my HP desktop and I recently tried the usb flash drive on a new laptop Lenovo comes with Win 8 and it worked.

I need to do so that I could run my backup - Acronis True Image software.

Any suggestions on what then try?  Thank you.

Yours is a laptop very different mine - so this may not apply... but you can try what I posted here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Notebook-PC-Questions/bios/m-p/2260991

  • Is our HP 3520-e really broken and if so now what

Already had this printer on our network of origin, and after a few trweaks for the configured wireless... every thing worked fine.

I initially a copy to the preinter put in place the time and which was very good.   Have not run an analysis, however.

Shortly after when an analysis was made, I got a "no scanner attached (or something like that) drivers scan neesds.

However... now whenever the printer powers on screen functions deskjet (forms of copy-scan-quick... etc, but then a screen appears that says "problem scanner... Turning the and poweron printer... If still errors that componet scanner/copy is broken ' and the printer cannot copy or scan")

Didn't add/subtract anything from system and or HP3520 drivers... etc.  HPPSDR 3.0 concludes canner and say aok... print test printer... page but nothing is printed.  Can I print from the network address of the HP to laucning IE8 and go to the test page printed in IE8?

In adidtion... first the printer would print fine (diagnosis... text... etc) now, whenever it load a sheet of paper... whether a battery or a piece... a paper jam occurs almost instantly when the page starts to enter the printer?

I think it's a matter of HP support... but I can't find anywhere on the site to do this upward with.

The new HP3520-e was recorded a month or two after you received?

    Please help

Turns out well was something else... so I was not looking for procedures that you recommend.  In fact I found a post somewhere that deals with unplug the power... etc... but the problem was solved by a simple click.

My SO corrected it voluntarily... but she knows virtually nothing about the digitization of material/etc? !!

What she did was with the windows open and the printer on... She went to devices and printers... one click with the right button on the 3520 in devices and printers... and choose scan.

She said the PC immediately connected to the 3520 and analysis took place without a hitch. After that... and continuing after a few test scans/prints today... the 3520 works fine.  No message of 'error' on scan or copy.  Even analyses to other printers of home network!

Thanks for your reply... must have been a problem in the original printer software installation and configuration?

  • Recovery HP Envy 4 Ultrabook (Sleekbook) after Windows 8.1 update course

I'm working on a model of ultrabook (sleekbook) of HP Envy 4 4-1115dx for a friend. They said they tried to upgrade to Windows Update 8.1 and it has not worked since. There was a black screen with an error that says "boot device not found" hard drive (3F0). I tried everything I can find on the internet to try to address this. I ran Diagnostics of hard disk (short and long), and the order is placed. I have reset the BIOS settings by default, Secure Boot disabled, enabled Legacy Boot and I have somehow or another managed to access a screen that shows the RAID settings and I put the hard drive in non-RAID (probably an error). During all of this, I ordered a USB hp recovery and when it starts I get a warning that says "not recovery support to the title of the current configuration, please activate the acceleration for Intel Smart Response Technology option and try again." I can't find this in the BIOS anywhere (turning power of boot technology fast Intel does nothing.) Through what seems to be something that you configure in Windows leading to the top of this post. I tried all these parameters before and after changing the RAID settings. So now I have a recovery USB which does not seem to work on this work and the drive tests very well. I could shoot the SSD drive, if necessary, but I was trying to avoid that, because you have to take the whole computer part to access. Any suggestions?

Well, I feel like a fool. I was misunderstanding the SSD as drive JUST before I realized it was both. The normal hard drive was dead. I put a new hard drive in it after removing the bottom of the laptop and the provided HP recovery USB what worked perfectly. I kept thinking there was a partition on the SSD that I didn't see or format. It was just a plain ole doesn't have a hard drive. Thank you very much for your help.

  • HP Envy 4 Ultrabook: what docking station works with HP Envy 4 Ultrabook?

I have a HP Envy 4 Ultrabook, and I want a docing station that works as both a plug-in and plug out. I need to connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse are wireless

There are two different sets of Envy 4 Ultrabook, but assuming that it is the manual for your:

    Manual

There is no connector dock hardware on the laptop. Therefore, no nod to the bottom dock is available. The only choice would be a USB 3.0 dock, which feeds the laptop so you should have to plug an AC adapter and a USB port whenever you wanted to 'dock '. So, by doing this it would connect a monitor, mouse and keyboard. A no more than a glance down.

  • Problems of WiFi HP ENVY TS Ultrabook 4-1118TU

    Hello

I just bought a HP ENVY TS Ultrabook 4-1118TU.  Out of the box, I've connected to my Wi - fi and applied updates to Windows 8.

Try to upgrade to Win 8.1 I experienced connection problems, loss of access to the Internet and get a "limited access" error on my network.  Eventually however I managed to finish the download and upgrade to Win 8.1.

I always get problems connection by Wi - fi.  He connects very well, then abandon the connection.  Reconnection repeats the process.

I tried all the solutions of common sense.  It is not Wi - fi or the location.  Other wi - fi devices work perfectly without connection problems.  I conclude that it is the Ultrabook, and by reading the tech forums, I see it seems to be a common fault with HP products.

In light of the laptop is new, please suggest a solution.

    Thank you very much

    Simon

    Hello eplus9,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the computer is experiencing difficulties wireless since the upgrade to Windows 8.1. I will do my best to help you!

Since it occurred after an upgrade, the question is probably based on a conflict of driver. I suggest you reinstall the appropriate drivers for this computer. The best way to proceed is by using HP Support Assistant. Here is some information on how to do: download or update of software and drivers for HP computers

If this does not resolve the problem, I encourage you to do a Windows 8 regenerate. This will restore the computer to Windows 8, so that clean it. Once you do this, you can restore the computer to Windows 8.1 and see if the problem is resolved. For more information, please refer to this Microsoft document: How to refresh, reset or restore your PC

In my view, that this information will be able to solve the problem. Whatever it is, please post your results. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Install Windows 8 - cannot find my SSD disk hard - HP envy 4 ultrabook - 1046TX

I downloaded the upgrade of windows 8 for $14.99 and have managed to create a boot usb device. I was able to run the installer until the stage where windows has found hard drives. I have an SSD and windows is unable to find it during the installation. Can someone help me? I have a HP ENVY 4 ultrabook...

Same problem here. I think it is a driver problem. HP people are those who should solve. It seems that other people have the same problem (http://windows8forums.com/windows-8-installation-upgrade/11607-cant-install-win-8-hp-envy-4-1046tx.html). And someone has solved through HP!
