HP Envy 700-311na: a GTX 1060 will agree and will work in my PC?

Hello!

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU one AMD Radeon R9 270 the new GTX 1060 (or other).

I understand that there are several versions of a GPU and I don't know what is best for my PC. I'm especially afraid the 1060 does not fit into my PC.

Here is a link to my PC and its specifications: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04343334

Here is a link on the 1060 GTX that interests me now: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IPFMVCQ/ref=s9_simh_gw_g147_i1_r?ie=UTF8 & fpl = fresh & pf_rd_m = A3...

Thank you

Since it is small and tight. You want the kind of style of card fan. If you don't get that kind. You are trapping just hot air inside your case and will make the card running more hot. I have a GTX 1080 founders edition in mine and it fits well.

Now, you know for SURE!  If you go with the 1070. Change the power supply. I had the same stock 500w version in mine. As you know. It has a 8 pins and power connectors 6 pin with this power supply. The 1080 requires an 8 pin. So, I plugged this in there.

When I put a load on it. My PC will restart. I knew it was a power supply problem. So, I tried to take the 2 6 pin power plug and those with the power adapter 8 pin supplied with the card used. While it worked. There was a groan of excessive coil of card and he ran hotter inside.

I imagine pushing the stock PSU to many. I changed out immediately after that a SuperNOVA P2 EVGA 650w PSU and its dead silent now.

No equipment issues at all. Photo attached.

  • HP Envy 311na 700: HP Envy 700-311na - no monitor output work

Hi, thanks for taking the time to read this.

    No.: G9B05EA #ABU

    Model n °: 700-311na

My PC works absolutely fine for the last two months, until what I tried to put on yesterday.  My problem is that my screen displays "signal found" despite my branch above Tower.

    Start-up and testing:

    • When starting my PC I get the usual beeps and the Red led on it becomes as it normally would.
    • The wifi light is on as it should be, on the front of my Tower.
    • The usual flashing light also works as usual on the front of the tower.
    • The fans work properly when turned on.
    • My wireless keyboard and mouse are recognized as soon as a key is pressed or the mouse moves, like light blue on my connector USB lights up as it normally would.
    • The CD open/close readers as it should.

    What I've tried so far:

    • Turning off and on again (no luck).
    • Remove the power cord from the computer and hold the power button for 15 seconds before reconnecting and powered it back up (no luck).
    • Connect my turn to another monitor via HDMI (no signal found error also on this one).
    • With the help of my usual PC monitor for other things (my xbox entry was detected immediately on the monitor via HDMI).
    • By using all the methods of display output 3 available with my usual monitor (DVI, HDMI, DP), none of them worked and all would result in no error signal on the screen.
    • Withdrawal/meeting the cables of the screen.  This does not give rise to my monitor to turn on as if is acknowledged the connection has been established to an output device, but once the display lights I get the usual error message ("this is the case with two DVI and DP connections, HDMI does not give me a lot of joy, but maybe it's because she's going through a ' 1 autodetect in 3 out" HDMI splitter.)  The separator acknowledges, that the HDMI is connected, but I get the normal red light that appears when a Powered HDMI is bound upward).

    What I did:

    • Touched the BIOS.
    • Damaged the machine.
    • Disassembled the machine somehow.

I'm full of ideas on what else to try.  I had the PC for more than a year and has a problem similar to that in the first months of her own, I think it's something to do with the power supply cable (a friend looked for me), but he managed to make it work back again.  Unfortunately I am no longer able to contact my friend on this problem, so I am completely in the dark.  Help would be very appreciated (please avoid some specialized terms as I am a little one recruit across a company PC fixing).

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Thank you for your response.  Fortunately, I can offer you a solution to my own question!  In my view, a windows update 10 can occur during the last stopped that I made.  The update I think doing something to the BIOS that was the issue.

I did the following steps and managed to get the display to start working again:

    1. Turn on the computer and press the F10 key for eight seconds.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8-1214: GPU EVGA GTX 750TI will work with my HPE h8-1214

Hello. I plan to update my graphics card soon. Accoring to this, I have a card Mother Angelica. I read another post here of a user having a h8-1230 with a card Mother Angelica Revision2 , who said the EVGA GTX 750TI was inconsistent with this Council, and that he should look for a version of the 750TI MSI instead.

I was wondering if the same applies to my PC because my model is older that the other user has been. I prefer to use the EVGA GPU version, as it is cheaper than the MSI one, but I need to know if it will work with my computer. If not, will the labour card ASUS model, or should it be MSI? The map I intend to buy is present (EVGA) or this (ASUS).

In addition to this, does anyone know if the stock fans and 300W power supply provided with this computer would be appropriate for the new card, or not? I'm looking forward already pass the power supply, but I don't know for the fans. If I were to upgrade the PSU, 430W would be enough, or should I go with 500W? Thank you.

If anyone in the future who might wonder, I had this GPU works on my computer, but I had to buy a specific version of the map and the way I got it to work was pretty weird.

You need to buy this version MSI of the card, because the card itself has a switch on to change the UEFI to Jack supported BIOS Legacy. As far as I know, other versions of this card are UEFI only, and this computer does not support UEFI, so he needs a card that can run in the traditional way. It may look like a fit snug in the case, but it does not seem to cause problems and it cools very well with fans.

I also changed to a block of power SUPPLY Corsair 430W, which seems more than enough for the system, even with the card to load max. You could go to a higher power, if you consider the upgrade of several pieces, or reuse the power supply in a more powerful system later. I have not upgraded fans in the computer and do not seem to have cooling problems.

    Now to make it work...

    I had some questions:

When I first turned on the computer, it froze on the screen of the POST (the first screen with the HP logo). It would allow me to get into the BIOS, and it would beep 4 times (with long breaks between the two), before finally to a black screen with a cursor blinking and just stay there.

What finally got it to work:

I disconnected all the instructors of the map (cables VGA, DVI or HDMI), and then I turned on the computer. Without any monitor plugged, the computer should beep 6 times (the power button LED flashing with it), then the power led turns off. The LED went off as soon as I plugged my monitor into the computer (in my case, I used a VGA cord).

For the first few seconds, the screen remained blank and does not save a connection. The computer is beeping intermittently for a while, then after about a minute my detected monitor suddenly a signal, and the screen displays the Windows splash screen. I was able to boot into Windows, all right, even if the resolution of the screen will be a little goofy, until you install the drivers.

I jumped in the driver installation CD, and once it finished installing, I restarted the computer. Now, when it restarted, I had to do the same procedure I mentioned above so that he could start again. Now that the drivers are installed, I don't know if I'll have to do this procedure everytime I restart the computer (don't have not shut down since then), but since I rarely shut down my computer, it's worth it to me.

Hope this helps someone else, because I know that I spent 10 hours searching for ideas before discovering this solution myself.

Now that it is running, I have problems and I have run several graphics intensive games on it without any problem with cooling or power draw. It is very quiet, too. Even with a game running on high quality graphics, I can barely hear the fans when there is no other sound in the room.

    So it's my graphics card: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R3NK2LE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8 & psc = 1

I don't think that I am currently using Nvidia CUDA with Adobe first CC 2015. My card is compatible with this feature?

Also, if the answer is "Yes", when I install drivers Nvidia CUDA, I uncheck the display driver? Since I also use my rig for games, I want to make sure I'm not downgrading my display driver. Or is the necessary display CUDA driver?

    Thank you.

    It will work very well.

You only need the CUDA for Mac pilot.  The normal display driver has everything you need for Windows.

  • ENVY 700-311na: my motherboard will return in this case?

Hi, Corsair has me ask to HP so I thought I'd ask just the Forum. What is the motherboard MSI Kaili works with a card mother Corsair Carbide 600 c? I know it's Μatx but the corsar link does not actually list Μatx. If anyone knows please answer that I will get this case in a few weeks, provided its use. See you soon

    http://www.Corsair.com/en-GB/carbide-series-clear-600C-inverse-ATX-full-tower-case

    Hello

The case is a full ATX case and the motherboard is a Μatx card that is much smaller. We must ask this question to Corsair: standard Μatx Council will agree to this case?, don't ask HP because HP does not have Corsair case.

Normally full tower case also has 'holes' for Μatx cards, BUT again, you must ask Corsair, not HP. HP uses Μatx standard board.

    Kind regards.

  • 700 - 311na envy: 700-311na

3 days ago, the PC stopped randomly. then turn. I checked lead which seems fine. When connecting the cable to the computer, I can see sparks through the air at the top right grid at the rear. Once connected, the green light on the back of the unit is on. When you press the switch, the green light came out and nothing else happened.

Today, I plugged the PC into another outlet and I have sparks and the green light, but this time the PC turns on and loads as expected. then in a fefw minutes (loading is barely over and I only opened the window of the companion HP) the PC shuts off and turns on again. It has done this 3 times and I have swihed it again.

I bought the PC new in Jan.

Help, please. Sparks inside the device is certainly not a good thing.

  • HP ENVY 700-311na: need additional graphics card?

I would use 3 or 4 screens simultaneously running my PC with a different application.  That would be the ideal situation for my family tree project.  Is this possible?  Do I need another graphics card?  The graphics on the PC is an AMD Radeon R9 270, it already has 2 outputs and HDMI output but I struggle with this output, I can't use at the same time as the other 2 outputs.

According to the specifications of this video card:

    • Support up to three displays simultaneously in the following configuration:
      • DP + two other ports

  • LJ449AV: A MSI GTX 960 will work with my workstation Z420?

Hello I was wondering if this map: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SAYDRP8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

would work with my HP Z420 workstation? Thank you!

    Hello

The support is broken.  However, if you have the model of the tower and the NVIDIA GTX 960 is the only graphics card then it should.

Why you want to run a consumer graphics card in the Professional workstation?

  • HP ENVY 700-406: overheating CPU

I have a HP Envy 700-406 with an A10 - 7700 k and a GTX 750ti graphics card.  When I am gaming, making a video, or any other task intensive CPU, HWmonitor reports time in the range of 95 c.  I know that it is extremely dangerous to operate a processor at this temperature, but the BIOS doesn't even crawls any fans when the cpu is this hot.  No idea why?

    @Wheatfield, welcome to the forum.

The first thing I would do is update the BIOS.  Here is the page HP Software and download driver for the motherboard.  There are three available updates.  You must use the update SSID: B 2 17 motherboard.  Here is what solves the update:

    Fix and improvements:

    -Improved CPU fan curve.

-Fixed issue where information "Data Execution Prevention" incorrectly show under OS Windows 7 after you disable "Data Execution Prevention" in the BIOS Setup Menu.

-Improved security of the UEFI and variable code. HP recommends strongly quickly transition to this update to BIOS version which supersedes all previous versions.

NOTE: Due to security changes, after installation of this update of the BIOS, previous versions cannot be reinstalled.

The first point, it's what can help solve your problem.  You should be extremely careful to follow the instructions when you perform the update.  A failed BIOS update can brick your computer.

The next step is to download one of the many applications that will allow you to adjust the speed of the CPU fan.

Please click on the button + Thumbs up if I helped you and click on accept as Solution If your problem is resolved.

  • HP ENVY 700-210xt: how to reinstall after upgrade windows 10

I bought a HP ENVY 700 - 210xt delivered with Windows 8.1 and included a recovery for the same partition.  At one point last year, I used the free update of Microsoft to take the system up to 10 Windows.  As far as I know, it has no effect on the recovery partition.  Now, I met a hard drive problem, where the system will not start or recover.  My hypothesis is that I need to reinstall from scratch, but I have some problems.

    • If I order the HP recovery discs, they will be for Windows 8.1, but not my upgrade to Windows 10 invalidated the original license key?
    • If I get somehow 8.1 Windows reinstalled with the original key, can I still the free update me for Windows 10 of Microsoft?  I guess that their records show that I've already updated.
    • If I can't get this path to work, is there a direct way to return to Windows 10?  As part of the upgrade, I've never seen a new license key, but maybe it was and I never saw him.

    Thanks for any help!

You need a support SSD (like this) so he can climb properly.  I also was called to tie an SSD in the case from time to time... since it has no moving parts and is not fragile like hard drives disk.

  • HP ENVY 700-000z Desktop PC with 8 and the need to know if I can install Windows 7

Just bought HP ENVY 700-000z Desktop PC equipped with 8 and need to know if I can install Windows 7 on this computer without problem.  My work does not allow the use of Windows 8.  If I can install Windows 7, what version of operating system do I need to buy to do a clean install.

If I understand correctly, I could order the Windows 8 Pro, who has right to demotion and then install Windows

7 pro, I have then I should be able to get the drivers, I need HP is correct.

    WARNING *.

HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8, and it will support the installation of Windows 7. HP doesn't provide drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer. In addition, Windows 7 can not take in charge some of the hardware or software designed for the computer.

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

    You should ENABLE 'Secure Boot' and maybe 'Legacy Support' in the 'BIOS Setup boot secured' on the settings page below, before you try to install Windows 7;

    or

In addition, as the hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start the computer by using the "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" in the start menu "F9". If "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" or something to that effect does not exist in the start menu, please post a screenshot and/or make startup listed options.

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive.

Most of the Windows 7 drivers from the drivers of HP Pavilion p7-1299 c desktop PC page should work on your desktop HP ENVY 700 - 000z CTO. Both models use a variant of the motherboard HP Jasmine. If you have missing or unknown devices after installing the drivers, please post the "Hardware ID" Device Manager for devices as shown in the example below.

  • Envy 700-215xt Broadcom bluetooth driver Win 8.1

    Hello!

My new HP Envy 700 - 215xt came with Win 7 Home and I've updated to 8.1 Pro Win.  In control compatibility before the upgrade, the software said that the bluetooth device driver was not compatible with Win 8 and forced me to uninstall it, I did.

Now everything has been migrated and works fine, except for the part of Broadcom wireless adapter bluetooth.  The WiFi worked very well.  In Device Manager, I see the card wifi Broadcoom BCM43142 under the heading, network cards and I see a BCM43142A0 listed in the other peripheral topic, and it shows that there is no driver installed for him.  Try to uninstall/reinstall, it is nothing and a Windows search for a driver comes empty also.

I downloaded and tried to install sp64557 from the support page, and it gave me the error "your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update.  Update cancelled. »

It is not a show stopper if I can't use bluetooth (at least not right away), but is there a procedure that I am missing to get this device works, or a driver available to support this device in Win 8.1?

    Thank you!
