  • Envy 15-j104el: updated NETWORK WiFi card and RAM update

    Goodmorning to everyone

I write this post to ask for information on the possibility to do an upgrade of hardware on my HP Envy 15-j104elsystem.

    That's what I would do:

-Replace the network card (NIC) to a wireless better and possibly with a compatible AC NIC.

-Update to 16 GB of ram, put benches with CL9 SODIMM

The questions that I want to bring to your attention are:

-There is a 'white list' for the wifi card on my BIOS (actually F66)?
(consultation with the service manual there are little NIC OEM selled, y at - it ONLY compatible?)

-Put the sticks of ram CL9 (instead of CL11 currently OEM mounted), I can inprove the overall performance?

    I want to install are:

    -Intel Wireless-AC 7260 more Bluethoot HMC 4.0

    -Kingston HyperX Impact DDR3L 16 GB (2x8gb) SODIMM 1600 Mhz CL9 (Kit)

According to your experiences, is it compatible? I can buy them without any problem?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Thanks for your suggestions

In particular, I take this opportunity to greet and also need the help of my friend @visruth ;)

    1. no whitelist. Your laptop was conducted after HP stopped using a white list so that you can install any card with the right form factor and the number of antennas. The Intel 7260 card should work.

    2. you can install the CL9 memory but it will not do anything all run faster. The motherboard is made to operate at the speed of the OEM memory so the Kingston Hyper-X will work, but the specifications of it in operation will be the same as memory OEM.

    HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO WiFi driver (Windows 7 x 64)

I've just killed my machine from Windows 8.1 stock that came with Windows 7 Pro x 64. I was able to install all the necessary drivers and software located on this page, except for one.

When installing Windows 8.1, I was able to tell that the WiFi card installed was a feature of Broadcom, but the driver on the support page for this machine does not work.

I tried the last few days but I find no related article this topic.

Does anyone know of another driver who can work with my camera?

  • HP Envy 17 Laptop: change the map wifi Centreno 2230

I want to update my wifi card, I got the replacement warranty and it gives me wrong again.   He is currently an intel 2230 Centreno card, I want to upgrade to a much better unit.  Could you let me know which cards will work with my Bios.

Envy 17-j073ca, right? I had HP lend me an Envy 17-j029nr which is almost exactly the same laptop and I can confirm from my own hands on that there is no BIOS whitelist for the wifi cards. The best I know of right now is the Intel 7260ac you can buy here:

The installation is easy. Simply remove the access panel in the form of "T" on the bottom, and you'll see it there.

  • HP ENVY j106tx: Intel 3165 AC WIFI + BT vs INTEL AC 7265 WIFI + BT

    Hello

I am looking to buy the newly launched HP Envy j106tx. It comes with wireless Intel 3165 AC module, but I would have preferred a with double radio as Intel 7265 rather. The chipset for laptop is Intel HM170. I would like to know if there will be problems of compatibility with such upgrade.

For some reason, HP does not allow for customization at time of order in India, but after purchase, will be able to upgrade for me, at cost, to one of their service centers?

    Thank you

According to the for HP ENVY laptop (model numbers used: 14-j000 by 14-j099)-Maintenance and Service of Guide, the following WiFi cards are factory in this series of computers options.

    WLAN module:
    Broadcom BCM943142 802.11 bgn 1 × 1 Wi - Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 m2 Combo Adapter - HP ref #792608-005
    Intel 3165NGWG ac 1 × 1 + Bluetooth 4.0 THE PCIe + USB Combo Adapter - HP 2230 NGFF hand #806723-005
    Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2 × 2 WiFi + Bluetooth Combo Adapter - HP ref #793840-005 4.0
    Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1 × 1 WiFi + Bluetooth Combo Adapter - HP ref #784644-005 4.0

It is possible that we could remove the back of the computer and change the WLAN card.

  • HP Envy 15-j190nb update question

    Hi all

I have a question about the HP Envy 15-j190nb.

I'm looking for a laptop about a new study that I will soon begin. My eyes fell on the HP Envy 15-j190nb .

The specs are really good for a laptop, but I was wondering if I could install an Msata SSD and Windows of her boot.

Basically, I want to keep the 750 GB HARD drive as a device to store my data and the SSD as a boot device.

The question is, is it possible? I searched the Internet for a bit and saw that the old Envy 15 models were not able to boot from the disc Msata, because they removed this option in the Bios. The only thing that could do the job was if you removed the preinstalled HARD drive so that the laptop would automatically detect the Msata drive as a boot device.

Now the articles I read are from somewhere last year so I don't know if the problem I described is still there.

I'm looking forward for an awnser

Problems still there. You can also run Windows of the WSSD, if you configure a bootstrapper on the main drive, which is quite advanced things. I'd say you'd be better off just replace the mechanical drive with a SATA SSD.

Fortunately, it's one of the models where the hard drive and the WSSD are easily accessible.

  • HP Envy 14-J009tx: updating the Nvidia driver is blocked?

So, I bought this laptop last month, and I tried updating the Nvidia graphics driver for the last of the 347.52 version supplied with it. I opened the GeForce experience app to update, it tells me that it is impossible to connect to Nvidia. Not still even though I changed my home network to the endearing phone, it won't let me update, saying that it cannot connect to Nvidia and I should try again later. I also checked the firewall and AVG (I changed the antivirus immediately after purchase) and allows the application to access the internet.

So my question is: is it done deliberately by HP or there may be something wrong with the whole of my ISP? And besides, I am interested in upgrading to Windows 10, will there be any problem with all the app that requires Nvidia? I really need the graphics I want to do a lot of CAD in the future.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello MalvinVVV ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on Nvidia driver update and I wanted to help.

It's generally a BAD idea to update the video drivers laptop NVIDIA (or AMD) because the OEM manufacturers often use specialized versions of video chipsets for which these pilots are not suitable.  The best approach is to update only from the OEM drivers.

This link is to HP for your PC product page: http://support.hp.com/sg-en/product/HP-ENVY-14-Notebook-PC-series/7771343/model/8524508/drivers

If you press the check now button, he will see if there is new video HP drivers for your PC, download and install them.  If there is no newer drivers, I would leave it alone.

In addition, I checked the same page to see if there are drivers HP Win10 and there are.  So, if you decide to upgrade to Win10, you will be able to get drivers HP.

    Good luck

I have a HP Envy 4500 home and signed up for the moment of ink.  Works very well and I was hoping for a similar arrangement for my daughter who has just started at the University.  It seems that there are problems with the HP Envy 4500 connection to University share wireless networks.  I was wondering if the following scenario would work:

    1. his computer is connected to the printer via the USB port
    2. the printer is connected to a hotspot wifi on iPhone (his phone is already connected to wifi University)

  • HP Envy 700-327c: graphics card on HP Envy 700-327c update

I just bought and am preparing to install an AMD over-pants W7000 C2K00AT 4 GB GDDR5 SDRAM PCI Express 3.0 x 16 ATI Nvidia Quadro graphics in my HP Envy 700 - 327 c.  Any input as to what I can do to make this a free update of the problem?

    You are welcome.

I would like to do some research before buying a power supply.  You may need more power than I recommended.  It says in the specs it uses less than 150W, but even more than the current PSU can provide with other components.

I'd certainly appreciate hearing how things are going.

  • ENVY of HP dv7 7230us repair - HELP!

    Hello

I am trying to replace my screen and processor, motherboard and having all kinds of problems. First my camera fell. During the re-booting I noticed the screen turned white, but the cooling fan has been executed and the charging light was still on. I also noticed that the cover lock blinking continuously and the wifi was on but orange. Since she was an ssd that I couldn't tell if the drive worked except the small led on the side front right was on. I then shut the machine down, not connected the power adapter, took out battery and not connected to the RTC battery. Then, I pressed the power button down for 30 seconds to erase all stored tension. I then reconnected the battery RTC, the AC adapter and the battery. After re-booting, the screen turn black. The caps lock blinking continuously and the wifi was on but orange. Essentially the description above. I bought a new view compatible, used ENVY dv7 7000 series motherboard and a processor AMD A10. The original processor was an A8. I then reinstalled everything and even put the hard drive installed in the factory, Toshiba 750 g, I got the same results as before. This time, I could actually hear spinning drive. If everything worked. I even tested the ram original in another machine and found it was good. I also plugged in a monitor and nothing. I am at a loss. I'm trying to send the Commission in Exchange for another. Anyone know what is happening here? I missed something? Would appreciate any input. Thank you

    Al Hebert

In addition, the original processor, AMD A8-4500 Series, has 2 functions? CPU and GPU or is it just a GPU or CPU. I do not understand how it differs from the older processors.   Thanks again

The relocation of the CROWD?  I'm sorry what is a MOB. Yes, I remove the RTC battery. I tried to start it with and without the RTC.

  • HP Envy 1440t h8: update the network map

I bought my desire Desktop 3 years at hp store. Now, I would switch my network card because I got a new 802.11ac router. My office has integrated Bluetooth 4.0 and dual 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN band (2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz) featuring MIMO 2 x 2 technology, but instead, I want to upgrade to a Wireless WLAN 802.11 AC. But I don't know if it is possible to update.

Can someone help me with this?

    Product number: C1U78AV #ABA

OS: 8.1 Pro 64 bit Windows

If you need mor information, let me know. Thank you

    Hello

You should not have to replace your WIFI adapter.  It should be compatible with your new router as multiple bands should be available.

I suggest that you configure communications WIRELESS "n" and see if you are having a better flow. Don't forget that the wireless signal a very weak signals will not produce the best performance.  Your ISP service may need to be increased depending on the speed you want.

If you are not satisfied with performance "n", then you can consider this Intel WIFI card.  The sides of the user looks fine.

Thanks for posting on the forum.
