HP envy m6 - 1184ca: want m6 - 1184ca - downgrade from bad to windows 7

Hello

I reccently lowered Windows 8.1 for windows 7 64 bit on my HP envy m6 1184ca. The installation went well and there is no problem. However, I currently have a few post installation issues.

The first is that I am having difficulties to install my chipset drivers. I searched through the forums and found a few suggestions, however each of them, I download says that the file is not compatible with the version of Windows, I am running.

My audio also does not work correctly. Extremely low volume and sounds as if only coming from a small speaker. Not quite the qualitty beats. I have used. I downloaded the High Definition Audio Driver from the HP site, but there was no change whatsoever.

Finally I can't seem to get my driver to install properly, or the other, maybe it's because the situation of the chipset, but any input is appreciated.

I can provide more information that is needed, because I check it frequently.

Thanks in advance

Hello:

Download and install the amd chipset drivers and restart.

http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows%207%20-%2064

You can then use all the W7 x 64 drivers and software for this model except the BIOS and firmware files.

This must be a full retail do not copy the recovery disc that distribute computer with preinstalled Windows systems manufacturers. This will be limited to a particular machine. You will also need to go to drivers and downloads from the HP Web site and check if HP provide XP drivers for your model. If they are not, you will have problems of implementation.

    Hello

I used the search option and found many threads on the downgrade from Vista to XP on Satellite P200 PSPB0E

All Toshiba drivers are published on the European driver Toshiba page.
Of course, you won't find additional software and programs like WinDVD, etc. insofar as these software are only a part of the Toshiba recovery image and as I guess are not to free them.

An important note; you need to install XP drivers as mentioned in the installation instructions txt file. This doc is also found on the Toshiba driver page!

Then you should not get any trouble of installation.

Best regards and happy new year 2008 :D

  • Downgrade from Vista to Windows XP on Satellite A300

Join Satellite A300 disc to downgrade to windows XP. However, information for it is almost impossible to follow because it implies that I am a computer Wizard.

I bak up to Vista as asked and then rebooted computer all holding the key F12. Put in the #1 lower upgrade disc and then it confuses me what to do. This machine is brand new and I have no files to backup, but want to use XP because I'm more familiar with this OS.

So can someone guide me through this... as I am in Australia and most of you people are probably asleep or just waking up, please put all the instructions I am about to go to sleep because it gives me a headache. If someone had told me that it was not a simple exercise, I would never had bought the laptop in the first place.

    Thanks for any help

    Bye now

    Hi Bushbabe

Yes, this can be a bit difficult. Here are some easy instructions on how to use XP disks. :)

    1. Insert the xp disk into the disk drive.

2 hold down the power button on the computer for 10 seconds to turn it off completely.

3 turn on the computer and start typing on the F12 key. Keep pressing it until it gives you your Start menu. (Don't hold the power button, type only just turn on the machine.)

    4. Select CD/DVD using the arrows on your keyboard, and then press ENTER. Should say 'Loading RAM disk image' or something similar.

    5. Select Yes on the warning screen (make sure you computer is connected to the main power, no battery).

    6. Select following three times.

After that, it will say Partition initialization... This means that the recovery has begun. :)

    Hope this helps!

  • can I downgrade from vista to windows 98xp

can you switch from Windows vista to windows xp

    Yes.

Install Windows XP to the usual. To activate it, you will need to use the phone-in method and explain that you use your right of demotion. The person will guide you through the activation process. You may not use the Vista operating system whose key you use for the XP install on any computer.

I suspect it's a typo, but just for clarity: Windows 98 and Windows XP are different operating systems.

These sugerencies were useless. Surfing the web I've read about the replacement of the thermal grease from my laptop and it worked 100%, that my temperature dropped 20 degrees. When I open the thermal grease has dried, so I cleaned and succeeded him. Also, I cleaned the fan, but it wasn't that bad. I hope that this solution applies to someone else with my same problem. • How can I downgrade from Windows 8 64-bit for Win8 32 bit on my HP Envy?

Bought the HP Envy for my children, but their favorite a few months ago game requires a Java Update, which is not available for 64-bit Windows 8. We waited for an update is available, but it looks like it will take another few months...

So we decided to restore the system and wanted to change to 32 bit. Unfortunately, during the restoration there was no option to select 32-bit instead of 64-bit.

What can we do to downgrade successfully to 32-bit on Windows 8?

    afgorkids,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

I admit that I might be missing your point, so bear with me...

This is an excerpt from Java to Windows 8 FAQ page:

Why only I get the 32-bit JRE when I go to Java.com?

Java.com offers a version of Java based on your browser and operating system (OS). If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows 8, you have access to 32-bit versions and 64-bit Internet Explorer 10 on your system. The desktop version of Windows 8 operating system does not run in 64-bit mode (unless you have improved in Internet Explorer 10 on Protected Mode), Java 32-bit is the default value.

After installing Java, restart your browser and check that Java has been installed correctly.

  • Downgrade 8.1 for Windows 7 in HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j005se

    Hi all

I have a laptop HP ENVY 15-j005se TouchSmart running in Windows 8.1 skirts language. I already bought Windows 7 Professional x 64. I tried to downgrade my OS to Windows 7 Pro. I prfer in installation of UEFI, thus, create mode UEFI, GPT partition and legacy OS USB installation enabled in the BIOS. Then the Setup program starts the USB device and everything goes well until it reaches the HARD disk partition window. I don't see my HARD drive on the installer window. I already have a HARD drive with 4 visible partion, C (OS), D (Data), E (recovery) and 100 MB in FAT 32 System. I want to format my C only, because D contains all my backup data. I tried to browe intel storage driver, still it does not detect my HARD drive.

Can someone please help downgrade, I really want to go back to Windows 7 Pro.

Make sure you create your Windows 8.1 HP recovery disks or USB Flash Recovery media before you edit or change anything.

Once you have created your HP recovery media, you can install Windows 7 on "disk 0 part 4: Windows. It's the old installation 8.1 Windows came with the computer. The HP recovery media, that you have created can be used to return the computer to a factory State if you have problems or want to use Windows 8.1.

You can delete all partitions and combine them into a single partition, if you wish, however, I do not recommend doing so.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Portege Z930 - Downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7

    Hi all

I have serious problems with my new laptop Portege Z930-138. I wanted to downgrade from Win8 to Win7 and transferred my old iso of Win7 on a bootable USB.

I changed the BIOSsetting CMS BIOS in order to boot from USB and it worked.
But later, I deleted all partitions on my HARD drive in order to have a primary partition where to install my old Win7.

    However I can't do!

Now I have 1 GB 119.1 unallocated space and there is no way to create a new partition from it.
Also when I try to install Win7 it says the disc's style GPT.

I also tried to convert it from the command prompt, but it does not work.

You guys have any ideas what to do?
