HP ENVY Phoenix h9 - 1440t CTO: HP Support Assistant fails to install Windows 8.1

HP Support Assistant update cannot be installed with account specific error 1316 already exists. Then, I get an error - 1603 and an error-3.  Uninstall fails with the same error.  Managed to get it uninstalled and now he moved not with the same error.  Have you tried as an admin and a lot of other suggestions on the forum but without success.  All my windows updates and drivers are up to date.  Windows 8.1 has been around for a while and no miracle.  Support Wizard does not yet appear on the HP website under software and drivers.  Any suggestions?

I just read another post and it recommended to turn off the power to the printer and then unplug the printer and leave it for 10 minutes.

I did then turned on the printer, then Assistant to the open support and messages have disappeared. I worked on this for a while and all we needed was unpluging the printer for 10 minutes.

My HP Support Assistant is not install drivers after they download from the Internet. What kind of software could block the installation? And how to manually install the drivers?

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

You can easily set the HPSA to warn you of updates and then use your computer Support pages to download updates to install.

    Do not forget:

It is the opinion of the Expert that you shouldn't depend on HP Support AWizard when it comes to BIOS updates.

According to other factors in the system at the time when the HPSA trying to hit your system with an update of this type; the results could be... other than expected.

You can set 'Notification' HPSA to prevent it from trying to update your BIOS.

DON'T update the BIOS when you see an update in the Web page of your computer AND this update can be used to provide a fix for a problem that you have discovered in your system.  In other words: If your computer is happy, do not update the BIOS just because you think it would be a good thing to do.

If you decide to update your BIOS

    • Make sure that ALL backups are up-to-date and complete - this means that everything you need to restore the system in case something goes wrong.
    • Understand that even when you do everything exactly right, you can end up with a bricked computer, that is an expensive paper weight.
    • Make sure you have at least your critical data on some form of external backup.
    • Unplug the USB drives and other useless material.  Keyboard and mouse can stay connected.
    • Always run power cable to update the BIOS, never on the laptop battery
    • Touch the system during the update is underway
    • Optional: Leave wireless ONbutton. You could turn off the router to ensure that there is no interruption.

My recovery partition was damaged.  All I see on drive D [the factory recovery image] is a folder named "Recovery". In is only one visible - about 300 MB - file named "winre.wim". I am in desperate need of recovery disc for my PC. Are they all available? If not, what are my options? My system doesn't seem to work correctly using a disc retail Microsoft Windows 8 - for example, I can't download Net Framework 3, affecting many programs, including my attempt to download the HP Support Assistant. Thank you.

This system was purchased in 2013 - with Windows 8. Still under warranty, but I wouldn't she be returned to HP, if I can do it myself.

Repeatedly press the F11 key at startup, it gets you to the Recovery Manager and he will restore?

Otherwise, you could create and download an ISO of Windows 8.1 to reinstall Windows.  If will not have the HP software however.

  • How to add hard drive for HP Envy Phoenix 810-135qe CTO.

My previous Pavalion motherboard failed and I ordered the current desktop.  I have the hard drive of the defective system.  He had the same operating system, windows 7, 64 bit, like this again.  I know some information about adding HDD to envy again.  No info on the motherboard or connections.  P5 and P6 power connectors are avilable for additional hard disks.  I see there are some open sata connectors on the motherboard, but need more info and direction on which one to use, or if things do, etc..  before I add the hard drive.

Use any header open SATA on the motherboard that you want to use. As long as you don't make changes to the current boot order in the BIOS and save the changes, it will not count.

I have added a second hard drive to my system (3 TB Seagate) that is the same (brand / model) on the main drive.  Device Manager sees the drive, but Win 7 Pro does not see the drive.

    Thank you

    Hello

Look in to the new hard drive disk management.  To use the full capacity of the drive, you'll need to be initialized and he the GPT format.  Don't forget to assign a drive letter and a volume name.  In addition, make sure that the drive appears as online and not in offline mode.

    Here is the Manual:

See page 12. You lift the grid car listed on page 13 in the lower right and install a 3.5 inch drive in it. Run the power and SATA data to it and you should have a second hard drive.

Do you know what model is the mouse? I don't know there are batteries that need to be replaced. On some models of wireless mouse, you must raise the upper part of the mouse to access batteries. Here is a diagram of an example:

  • HP Envy 13-d053sa: problem of HP Support Assistant

I recently bought this laptop with 10 months warranty still on it. HPSA introduced a message asking me if I wanted to download available updates, and I started the process. It was 'download' for two hours now, with no activity on wifi according to the Task Manager. Should it take this long?

Edit: I just cancelled that and opens her so that I could request a download manually. SA says there is no update is available, so why ITS flag of the updates available in the first place?

    Sorted.

I downloaded the update for HPSA and he ran, a lot of activity of Wi - Fi, but it has only identified an update if necessary.

Then I went to the Device Manager and went through all the devices in their turn, find many necessary updates.

Now who does not inspire confidence in HPSA, but I know what to do in the future.

    Thanks for your help Sparkles1.
