HP G5206uk desktop PC, DVD disc tray eject/close button helps.

Hi all

all first up to the happy new year to all lovers of HP here.

I have a HP G5206uk desktop PC, I can open the drawer of the DVD with the touch of ejection beside him, but I can't close the drawer. The DVD tray comes out ok, but the tray flap covers the eject/close button, making it impossible to close without a low pressure on the drawer to close.

I wonder if there is a way to open and close the DVD tray using a function key on the keyboard to place / or screen, as I do with my other HP Pavilion a6210uk desktop PC. I don't see any button additional function on the keyboard supplied with the HP G5206uk PC.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Clive.

Hi all

I had the good support fast HP recently about my problems with my HP G5206uk DVD eject button tray.

It seems the only way to solve the problem is to use the soft Wizz method explained above. I was told to use this way to close the drawer again by HP support, I accept that as a final solution and my case on this subject is now closed.

Thanks to everyone who gave me useful advice,

Clive.

    Hi John,.

Please let me know exactly what happened when you tried my suggestions of first and second.

Of your most recent post, looks like you're watching the wrong part of the Device Manager. Optical drive is listed under "readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM". The info you gave appear under "drives". If the drive is not listed under "readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM" or there is no such section in Device Manager, then Windows do not see. If windows can't see it then this means that there is no power or that the drive is broken.

When you pushed the drive back in, the player no longer has much of the book or did you have to push all the way. If the latter, it means that the drive has no power or is broken.

With respect to the opening of the case, I guess I should ask first if it's a laptop or desktop?

Just got a CQ5210F. When the optical drive open the end/eject button is covered by the lid of the tray. • Desktop computer - 110-412na: disc tray not opening completely and do not currently playing of the discs.

Disc tray is no longer fully opens, it stops before opening to halfway.

If I go out there, insert a disc and press again, the disc is recognized and the window will appear to the right of the screen asking what I want to do.  By choosing "Run Autorun.exe" nothing happens.

By pressing the eject button, or by selecting "eject" after right click on the drive icon, causes the tray not opening only partially again.

The computer was bought nine of H.P. in January this year.

  • The HP Envy 17 DVD/BR disc stuck eject mechanism?

I had a HP Envy 17 for a few years and all of a sudden when I tried to insert a DVD disc in the DVD/BR drive, I couldn't drive to go. Mechanically there's something blocking his way, and I think it might be the eject mechanism.

The drive itself is visible in Explorer and see it all requests for problem solving, but I have no idea how to do to reset the eject mechanism. Hard reset does not help, nor the withdrawal of the devices drive before resetting.

The question is: can I somehow get the mechanism automatically resets or I'm in a hurry to buy an external hard drive?

    Ok.
In this case replace the drive or using a reader external DVD will be the solution (s).

The DVD player for the envy is an expensive one.

A trombone can be insterted which should lend the drive to open it, if a small hole.

You do not have to convert vob, DVD Authoring
software that will do it for you.

Windows XP cannot burn a video DVD, you need
    DVD Authoring software.

Perhaps the following freeware will help you get started:

  • Tecra M4: SelectBay DVD discs

    Hello

I wonder if anyone knows if Toshiba plans to bring a better burner SelectBay DVD PA3359E-1DV2 (Slim SelectBay DVD Super Multi Drive).

I would like a DVD burner in my Tecra M4, but this one, the best available seems very less specified by modern office standards. I would have thought that they could, at least, come out with a burner that writes at 4 x speed for all types of DVD disc. In case you're wondering the written PA3359E-1DV2 DVD + RW, DVD - RW and DVD - RAM. DVD - R 4 x and all the rest at 2 x - not very impressive, even if it's a SelectBay module!

The interesting thing about the SelectBay DVD burners is that PA3359E-1DV2 costs less (£160) it is less specified brothers PA3410E-1DV2 and PA3231E-1DV1 (£200 for each). Very confusing! Attention to these model numbers if you go shopping!

    Hello

As you know the Slim SelectBay DVD Super Multi Drive PA3359E-1DV2 is designed only for laptops and you can not compare a desktop readers with a portable PC.
You have to make a compromise.
I burn my DVD with a 2 x speed and for me it s enough.
But if you want to buy a DVD burner, I recommend you to buy an external.

    CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive ejects do not.

    Hello

1 how long have you been faced with this problem?
2 did you recent hardware or software changes to your computer before this problem?
This could be if the DVD player does not work or drive DVD tray is stuck. Check if the DVD drive light flashes when you try to use it. If you see the light flashes, it means that the DVD drive tray is stuck in the opposite case it means that the DVD player has stopped working.
If the DVD drive tray is stuck then, I suggest you to contact its manufacturer. They would help you with manual opening of the status bar.
If the DVD player does not work then, please try the methods below.
Method 1: Run auto Locksmiths and verify.
Method 2: Look for a yellow or red fringe on the device for DVD player manager and send back the same.

  • PowerEdge 2950 cannot write to DVD disc

If I try to burn a DVD Dell diagnostics, I get the drive is not ready.

Can read the DVD. Can eject the DVD.

If I use Windows to watch a blank DVD, all categories are 0 bytes

Have updated to the latest Dell diagnostics and all tests pass.

I tried to update the BIOS of 2.6.1 to 2.7.0 and get the program could not gather the version of the BIOS

Windows look for an updated driver and Windows says best driver is installed.

It is probably not a R/RW disc. They were very rare in the 2950, particularly when they first came out.
