HP G62-b31EE notebook PC: automatic shutdown due to overheating

Hello.
I am facing this problem of overheating since the last 3 years and it is getting worse with every passing summer.

Whenever I have run a software or try to play a game on this laptop he gets shutdown. The body is not physically warm enough for a hot machine. I also changed the thermal paste about 6 months ago. I worked pretty well in the first week but right after that one week he began to do the same thing again. Now, even when there is no load on the CPU and I launch the web browser or any other software, its CPU temperature starts rising and only about 90 degrees Celsius, it turns off.

It's really frustrating because I can't do assignments or other everything works fine on my machine. Kindly help me and tell me what should I do to fix this problem.

See you soon.

    Hello David

Your device is certainly full of dust and cannot be properly cooled. If I remember the unit has two vents on the lower part. The must be removed and cleaned properly.

Trust me on this machine, the dust is placed behind the fans and if you look they seems to be clean, but they are not. Contact the customer Service of your country partner. The cleaning procedure takes about 20-30 minutes. I can't imagine that it will be expensive.

REALLY? REINSTALL WINDOWS HAS BEEN YOUR BEST ANSWER?

I have not received any REAL help can in HP, just the no brainer of stuff I checked immediately.  AND troubleshooting are a waste of time.   I have been using computers since 1984 and Windows since the year 2000.

I was in fact checking a different to answers.microsft.com problem when I ran this tool of the SFC system file error. EXE.  When I restarted I got my sound back.

  • What processors are compatible with the HP G62-b09SA notebook PC.

What processors are compatible with the HP G62-b09SA notebook PC. Also I'm under 64-bit Windows, but on the HP website, it indicates that the maximum amount of memory is 4 GB, why?

    Hello

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02542102.PD

See page 1 for a list of supported and also taken processors on this page under the heading memory, it is said that the laptop can support up to 8 GB of memory.

  • Is G62 (b31ee) of HP can contain up to 8GB + RAM?

    Hello HP

I want to upgrade RAM from my HP G62-b31EE of 2 GB to 8 GB? Is it Possible?

    Based on your website.

It may contain up to 4GB.

But I use the Crucial System Scanner.

Is say. It can hold up to 8 GB.

and the last Question in my mind, "" what will happen if I try to use 8 GB of RAM?".

    Thank you...

    * Sorry for my English

    Hello:

There are a few errors on the repair and product specifications page.

As you have seen the product page indicates that the maximum memory is 4 GB.

    This is false.

Chapter 1, page 1 of the manual link, service below indicates the maximum memory is 8 GB.

On the page, 2 they list only configurations of memory up to 2 x 2 GB.

    It's incomplete.

    You could also install a chip 4 GB + 2 GB to 6 GB and a 4 + 4 GB to 8 GB.

So Crucial is correct and the maintenance manual is correct - the owner's manual is incomplete.

  • HP G62 - 253TU Notebook PC graphics card update

Hello.. I just recd a HP G62 - 253TU Notebook PC as a gift from a friend. Although I like most of the technical specifications, but when I tried to play PC games on this subject, I have recd errors saying that the graphics card of the laptop is good enough to handle the graphics.

I am running Windows 7 on my laptop and I checked the performance Information using System properties in MY computer. I check the side of my system and found that although the under-score for the processor, the memory is 6.2, but for the graphics and design of games is simple 1.0. I guess that means that this laptop model has very basic level graphics card suitable for the treatment of basic VGA only.

Please let know us if there is a way to improve performance.  I am also considering upgrading the graphics card but I don't know if it's possible.

    Please notify

    Hello

I suggest you reinstall this driver the partition you notice the graphics performance is well below what it should be for the adapter, you have - the driver may not be installed correctly.  Download the file that I gave in my previous post and save it to your desktop.  Once the download is complete, right-click on the Setup program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When you are done, reboot the laptop and access the tools and information on the performance and re-run the assessment.

Let me know how you go.

    Kind regards

  • Windows 7 HP G62-340US Notebook Recovery Fail

    Hello

I searched a bit and couldn't find a solution to my problem, either on the forums or official guides.

Recently I bought HP recovery disks system (because it wouldn't let me create my own):

Startup recovery Manager does not allow me click on left - recovery option it is grayed out.

How can I reset my computer to the conditions of the factory with the disks?

I insert the disc recovery 1 (of 2), restarted unplugged everything except the power cord the computer (off, waited, then restarted), you can press F11 and consulted the at startup recovery manager - still no option to make the system recovery. I repeated this step several times.

    Windows 7 HP (64)
    G62-340US Notebook
    Series: CNF0502D9C

    Any tips?

    Hello

Good to hear it is running

About whether or not to use the drive, it is really a matter of personal preference - my personal opinion would not not use it just to keep the machine free of bloatware.

In addition, if it lack of pilots (looking for the warning icons in Device Manager), they can be downloaded from your product on the link Page.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=4308554#N1691

If there is no missing driver you don't know what to download, go to Device Manager, right click on the device problem, and select Properties.  Click on the Details tab, choose hardware ID in the drop-down list and post back with the details presented in the title of the value.

  • About installing windows XP in laptop HP G62 - b18SA Notebook PC (XF230EA)

    Hello

recently, I bought new HP G62-b18SA Notebook PC (XF230EA) with processor i3, 3 GB ram with windows 7 os... But I want to install windows XP. I can easily make it or do some problems during the installation of windows XP... Plez reply

    Thank you

You can install windows xp on the laptop, but I don't think that you can get everything to work perfectly, because this laptop is designed for windows 7.

In addition, I don't get what the point of buying a laptop with modern material and using an obsolete operating system. I can understand that people are accustomed to XP but you wouldn't get a maximum return of i3 processor/3 GB of RAM on a computer with windows XP.
