Windows 7 HP G62-340US Notebook Recovery Fail

Hello

I searched a bit and couldn't find a solution to my problem, either on the forums or official guides.

Recently I bought HP recovery disks system (because it wouldn't let me create my own):

Startup recovery Manager does not allow me click on left - recovery option it is grayed out.

How can I reset my computer to the conditions of the factory with the disks?

I insert the disc recovery 1 (of 2), restarted unplugged everything except the power cord the computer (off, waited, then restarted), you can press F11 and consulted the at startup recovery manager - still no option to make the system recovery. I repeated this step several times.

Windows 7 HP (64)

Series: CNF0502D9C

Any tips?

Hello

Good to hear it is running

About whether or not to use the drive, it is really a matter of personal preference - my personal opinion would not not use it just to keep the machine free of bloatware.

In addition, if it lack of pilots (looking for the warning icons in Device Manager), they can be downloaded from your product on the link Page.

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=4308554#N1691

If there is no missing driver you don't know what to download, go to Device Manager, right click on the device problem, and select Properties.  Click on the Details tab, choose hardware ID in the drop-down list and post back with the details presented in the title of the value.

Kind regards

  • G71 340US system recovery fails

One of my friends brought a G71-340US to me which was purchased at a pawn shop.  There was no password for a reload information was in order.  Software recovery was purchased which was a two disc picture refill set and a third CD containing the drivers and utilities.  Recharging began and I chose the path of destructive factory picture.  Recharge seemed to continue as expected using the first CD of the game.  When you are prompted to insert the second CD, the laptop has never recognized the insertion of the second CD.  The button 'Next' of radio would never go bold or respond to mouse clicks.  I just turned off and restarted.  The HARD disk starts but came in what appeared to be a bunch of batch and then reboot again.  This loop has days.  I started above zero. I tried to insert the incorrect CD, utilities and drivers one, when #2 CD was requested.  The process has been able to tell me that I inserted the wrong disk.  I then put in the right disc and it is same thing.

I'm sure that the HARD drive is OK.  I could get on my XP box and do tests, everything looked good.  I saw two partitions and erased.  So not destructive and destructive tests passed with flying colors.  Put the HARD drive backin the laptop and tried to load a copy retail of Windows 8 and all went well except that I don't want to give this license.  Tried the result once again even refill HP media.  All I can assume is that number 2 CD is bad.  What do you think?

It sounds as if the second cd/dvd is defective. I would like to ask for a replacement.

If you can read the Microsoft Windows 7 of 25-character license key attached to the bottom of your laptop, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD, the version must match that on the sticker COST Microsoft.

My laptop stopped Boot at startup and I think to replace the hard drive, which is a good solution?

Try a hard reset as follows:

    (1) remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
    (2) press and hold the power button for more than 15 seconds.
    (3) plug the DC power adapter (leave the battery for now)
    4) press the power button

  • HP G62-340US: HP G62-340US

    Hello

I have already ordered through HP backup diskettes and tried to recover my installation of Windows 7 by using the provided disks.

Before this attempt at recovery facility, tried to use several iterations of Linux, so I formatted my HARD drive and recovery sector.

The first disc seems to be fine and install correctly, but the 2nd is suspended from the installation of 12% and will not continue.

If I try to boot without the inserted discs, I get the error: BOOTMGR is missing, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.

In vain I tried reinstalling 3 times.

I was checking if my G71 340US notebook is OK to upgrade to windows 7 which I understand will be completed July 26, 2016. I read the web HP requirements, but they do not make sense to me as I am not an expert. I understand that HP does not guarantee the purchased booklets before 2013 will work and I bought mine in Nov 2009. My PRODUCT NUMBER IS: VM114UA #ABA and the name of the product is HPG71 notebook PC windows 7 (64-bit). I saw other people in this forum face with his apparently solved problems by only the individual who posted the message, other internet connection problems and systems fail. Can someone please tell me if I'm okay or is it preferable not to attempt migration. Thank you

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you face is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features is the specialized drivers written for the specific in your HP PC hardware - and unfortunately, there is no driver HP Win10 for your PC. HP only guarantees the compatibility of Win10 for machines manufactured after August 2013. HP is not no matter what timetable indicating when, or IF, they will produce drivers for older machines.

This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the pilots is needs for all features simply do not exist!

Personally, I recommend this doing the upgrade, especially since I did this on a laptop HP DV6 under Win7 and trashed the laptop upgrade bad, I had to restore it if you work with HP recovery media.

    Good luck

  • My G62-340US, I just had to replace the hard drive. My recovery disks appear to be compromised. Help

On my G62-340US, I just had to replace the hard drive. I did 4 recovery disks when it was new. Now restore the recovery discs 3 ran, but will not be the 4th disk. The 4th information located anywhere without having to buy a new set? Where can I buy a single disc?

    Hello:

As far as I know, you would have to buy a whole series of new.

But, if you can read all 25 characters of the product key of W7 on the bottom of your laptop, I have a free solution to install a simplified version of W7 using the code the product key on your laptop.

    Here's how...

Download the ISO file from W7 Home Premium 64 bit from the Microsoft link below.

    http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-58997.ISO 2147483647 English Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 X 17 - 58997.iso

Make sure that you got the file from xx GB 3. integers download, in rare circumstances, you get a full notification of download, but you do not receive the entire file to download.

After you download the ISO file, you can burn it to a DVD using the ISO file burn option on your DVD burning program, or you can use this tool to transfer the ISO to a flash USB DVD or 4 GB drive.

The tool also performs the bootable media.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Then go to the care of your laptop and driver page for available software and drivers that you need.

    Hello

recently, I bought new HP G62-b18SA Notebook PC (XF230EA) with processor i3, 3 GB ram with windows 7 os... But I want to install windows XP. I can easily make it or do some problems during the installation of windows XP... Plez reply

    Thank you

You can install windows xp on the laptop, but I don't think that you can get everything to work perfectly, because this laptop is designed for windows 7.

In addition, I don't get what the point of buying a laptop with modern material and using an obsolete operating system. I can understand that people are accustomed to XP but you wouldn't get a maximum return of i3 processor/3 GB of RAM on a computer with windows XP.

I just can't take more.  Since the first day, this laptop has been poor performance.  Hang in there too.  Takes forever to open a program or a browser.  Anytime you click anywhere, the blue spinssssssssssssss circle.

How can I reformat to factory settings if I do not all discs?  I don't think this will fix the issue because it was so out of the box.  I tried so many different things to boost performance (updated touchpad driver, updating the bios, remove the starting applications, etc.) but it does not matter.  I was going to upgrade the RAM 8 GB / 3GB, but I don't think that it should be considered to prevent him from hanging.

    @Barbenae ,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.

With a laptop computer hooked up here there's several reasons for this.

Have you cleaned your laptop to reduce the accumulation of things on the heatsinks and fans for the laptop can be cooled?

Have set you your system power settings?

Did you run the diagnostics of hardware BIOS to see if it is a RAM problem or hard drive?

If this is not the case, here are a few links to check.

Test a hard drive from BIOS

Regarding the recovery of the system, there is a link on how to do so.

  • Recovery failed on the L850 Satellite

Hi, looking for help after a Toshiba Recovery failed on a L850-ID5.

Due to a problem with the windows Explorer that comes, I could not solve, I decided to do the full restoration of Toshiba. Finished, he gave an error code 10-FC12-0570.

Now computer tries to start windows, goes to a blue screen with a few other technical details (too fast to see what is there) and then to the windows recovery page. I tried all the options like mode safe without success. If the left, it will continually cycle and re - start.

Only other option seems to be to use an installation disc, but there is no disc with this laptop.

Any ideas how to get out of this mess?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Unfortunately I can't say with certainty what the problem but that is defective recovery image or there is a problem with the HARD drive. For a long time, the laptop manufacturers do not offer installation disks but in s manuals explains and describes how these discs can be created and your big mistake is that you didn t do backup recovery image and create the installation of recovery disc.

I don't know how old is your machine, but if the warranty is still valid I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. Explain the problem and ask for help.
If they ask for recovery disk, you try to explain that you didn t expect failure of HARD drive and you still don't have it.

In General, you have two options:
-for order of Toshiba recovery media (it is not for free)
-to get the new HARD drive and test it with the original recovery disk
In any case, don't spend your money before you try to clarify this with Toshiba service.

  • Recovery failed

    Hello

I have problem with recover my system with drive Q on W530.
I start the recovery with F11 when booting. Loads of everything very well. As recovery menu shows and I choose Lenovo makes the options at the bottom of the window. I accept the conditions of recovery and after I click next dialog box opens with: "the recovery failed. I do not know how it works... The only thing I've done with drive Q was remove drive letter, which was made by mistake, but I put the letter Q even more.

    Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the reply! I could not make the recovery Windows Media also. Everything was caused by mSATA SSD. When I removed it recovery has started working again. I made a recovery with the USB media and recovered it on the SSD. I had to remove the drive Q and other things of system disk HARD as multiplied recovery drive causes the same problem. Remember: to make the USB recovery media work, there has to be FAT32 partition active. So now I have state of factory on mSATA SSD and formatted HDD is disk storage now.

  • HP G62-340US: it will be useful to upgrade my CPU?

I recently bought 8 GB of RAM and an SSD of high quality for my 6 year old HP G62-340US, but the computer feels not as fast it should with these updates. I have an AMD 2.2 Ghz processor, but the CPU still seems to be maxing out, even at startup. This doesn't seem right, so I ask you:

Is this old CPU slow down my computer?
If this is the case, is it possible to upgrade my CPU to something newer and fastest?

    JGSaunders

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on performance issues and wanted to help.

To start, you can see if anything in this post help with performance problems: HP PCs - increase the performance system and maintenance of your computer (Windows 10) | HP® customer support

IF that is not the case, then you are against some serious limitations.

First of all, your PC did not come with preinstalled Win10, so I think that you have gone to Win10 of Win7, right?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem, that you are facing is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific material found in laptops - and unfortunately, there is no HP Win10 laptop driver.

This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the pilots is needs for all features simply do not exist!

Secondly, you have installed Win10 32 bit, so you wasted your money by buying this memory.  The 32-bit Windows operating system are limited by the policy of using only a little more than 3.2 GB of memory, regardless of the amount of memory you have in the machine.  There are hacks which allow you to use ALL your memory, but those who violate the license agreement with MS, so we does not allow to refer to them.

    -------------------------------------------------

One possibility, if you want to go to the trouble, is to do a clean installation of Win10 by using media, created using this link: install Windows 10 using the tool of creation of media - Windows help

Note that when you download and build install media, the default tool corresponding to what is already installed on your PC (as in home for the House, and 64-bit to 64 - bit).  While you CAN change these settings, are NOT.  If you do, the media that results will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code.

Once you have that media, you start from it and install Win10 on top of what you have now.  However, you will lose all settings, configurations, and applications in the process.  So reinstall applications, this is what is required if you go down this road.

However, I did this on an HP DV6 laptop and since then he is working very well!

    Good luck
