HP G62 - 229WM Notebook PC lock flashing at startup

I have a HP G62 - 229WM Notebook PC that will not start.  It is consumed, but black on screen.  I have a fixed light at the power button / stop and the caps lock has a flashing regular, only 1 in the series.  I replaced the processor and still have the same question.  Is it the motherboard?

Sorry, but it doesn't seem to be the motherboard. I've seen other posters have the same processor Flash error but no luck when his replacement. I think that it can actually be a bad cpu socket causing the blink code.

Dear everybody. I know there are already a lot of similar topics, but none seem to portray exactly my situation, so I hope someone will be able to land a helpful hand.

Then. A few months ago I had to move to Japan in my country (Italy). The warranty on my HP dv7 6189 sl expired while I was here, but since my laptop was having really bad cooling problems, I have documented my self with videos and guides to the internet and everything I coul find and decided to take it apart myself. I cleaned all the dust from the fan, the basic form of thermal paste on the processor and the Ati HD 6770. Then again once, back to paying attention to put it all together as it was (HOPEFULLY). Anyway, when I tried to start on the laptop, I found it now black screen guard. The light F-12 (wlan connection) continues, keeps flashing orange (like no wi - fi connection) and the CAPS LOCK. It seems to me it blinks THREE times before stopping a few lil lil and then repeat the cycle again. Anyone know what can be the problem? I'm desperate... Thanks in advance...

    Hello

Based on the codes of following indicators:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01443366

    You must:

    (a) reinstall the memory.
    (b) If you continue to experience this error code after the reinstallation of the memory, the problem may be with the memory itself. Grab the new memory of the computer, put back original memory in the computer, and then test again it.

    Good luck.

I want to 6 sleekbook and all of a sudden that it does not start and the caps lock flashes three times I already saw the code flashing and tried to rest the memory but it still doesn't work, I ran in problems with the laptop before the blue screen, but it was fixed its own I think

    Dear customer,

Welcome and thanks for posting your question on the Forum of Support HP

It seems that your laptop has a blank screen and a blinking/flashing CAPSLOCK all the time

If the Capslock LED flashes 3 times this means "Non-functional memory error", in order to solve the problem, replace the card memory

Note: If you are comfortable open Notepad, you can check how much you have memory module. If you have 2 sticks of memory, you can test one at a time on the two slots individually to check if the fault is with the module module slot or memory memory your laptop [repeat the same steps to test another memory module]

If you find the above steps difficult and that it is a hardware problem and I recommend you contact HP Support by phone for further assistance immediately to get your diagnostic Notebook and repaired by an authorized HP Certified Engineer

You can also check your warranty here to check the status of the guarantee

  • Pavilion G6 Caps lock flashes constantly but the laptop work.

    Hello!

I've owned my HP Pavilion g6-2292sa Notebook PC (running Windows 8) for about 4 months now and tonight, so I was watching just the net that I noticed that my Caps Lock led flashing continuously, a flash every second. My laptop works fine, and I rebooted to try to stop the flashing, but with no luck. I checked Flash and positions that average hot flashes but mine does not fit in all of this. It is starting, it is not beep just the caps lock flashes constantly. I checked my other lights and see no other spazzing out like that. I'm rather worried because I had to have a new motherboard and HARD drive in a month of purchase. I googled not materialized. Can someone help me please?

    Definitley weird!

Can you check the UEFI environment in F2? Let's see if it happens there inside and outside to win 8.

If it happens again, we can try a hard reset - remove the battery and AC and hold the market for 30 seconds, then plug back in. We can also try a BIOS flash - checks whether there is a newer version or re flash.

If the problem does not occur in BIOS - then you can try a Virus scan / update or restore possible system

  • No sound HP G62 - 373DX Notebook PC

I don't know what happened, but a few days ago, I noticed that I had no sound on my HP laptop.  I went through all the suggestions starting with his troubleshooting trouble shooter program.  I restored the system to a previous state that has not helped.  I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the driver and did not help.  My system is showing its is ok but when clicking > Control Panel > sound > Speakers > configure > test - I get the error! Impossible to play the test tone.

REALLY? REINSTALL WINDOWS HAS BEEN YOUR BEST ANSWER?

I have not received any REAL help can in HP, just the no brainer of stuff I checked immediately.  AND troubleshooting are a waste of time.   I have been using computers since 1984 and Windows since the year 2000.

I was in fact checking a different to answers.microsft.com problem when I ran this tool of the SFC system file error. EXE.  When I restarted I got my sound back.

  • Compaq Presario CQ62-412NR does not start. Caps lock flashes.

The LED caps lock flashes repidadly with long breaks between each blink, the wireless light and constant and the adapter LED is steady. I read blink codes and determined, he was the processor, but the problem persists after him substituting a known good. I finished the resets power to clear the bios before and after the change of the CPU. I also tried to replace the RAM. Anyone here have a clue whats going on?

This looks like a problem with the motherboard if you already replaced the CPU and RAM.

It would be probably cheaper to replace the unit at this time only so, fix it or replace the motherboard.

  • HP envy 15 t-j100: screen went white and caps lock flashing after update bios!

Update my bios to the latest version via app HP support and after it restarted the screen are empty and the caps lock flashing! What can I do about it?

    Thank you for visiting @omidmiri.

Here on the Forums of HP's Support, you have access to many members of the community with solutions and suggestions to help. I understand that you have a problem with a black screen and the Caps Lock LED flashes after a BIOS update.

The led near the caps lock shift keys and numlock blinks if a fault is detected during the boot process. The LEDs flash multiple times in a sequence and then stops.

Please try to manually perform a BIOS recovery, as follows:

    1. Turn off the computer.

    2. Plug the laptop using the power adapter.

    3. When the computer is always off:

      1. Press on and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time and then press in and hold the power button on the laptop for a second.

      2. Release the power button and the keys.

By following these steps, the BIOS will reach the EFI partition in order to recover the BIOS to the latest known version of the BIOS from the hard drive.

Unfortunately, there are many possible causes for this problem, I mentioned the video chip as possible example given the symptoms you describe - you need get the machine examined to ensure.  Failure of a component is often extremely fast, insofar as it works one minute then is not the other.

  • Upgrading the processor in a G62-229WM

    Hello

I had the wrong streaming video high definition on my HP G62-229WM.  From my research so far, it seems that the cause of the problem is the processor and the solution is to upgrade.

My first question is whether all the processors listed in HP Maintenance and Service of Guide for my computer model are compatible with my laptop.  I see that some processors are specified for model 1.1 or 1.2 only, but other than that, can I buy and install one of the listed processors?

My second question is how to determine which CPU to buy.  When should I start adding RAM to keep up with the processor?  I'm confused as to the interaction of these two parties.  I would not buy a more expensive processor, when I won't be able to get the best out there in any case.  I am pleased to also add RAM, but I have no idea how to do to decide what to do.

    Currently, my system has:

    Windows 7, 64-bit

AMD V120 Single Core 2.24 ghz processor

    2 GB of Ram

    CPU Socket S1G4

All parts are original.  We want to use this computer exclusively as an entertainment system, streaming video is so that it is the only task.

I appreciate any help at all.  Thank you!

Even the processor to the cheese you have is much faster than a Pentium 4 3 ghz. A good cell phone these days is as fast as a P4 3 ghz. Clock speed isn't everything. A choice between 4 gigabytes of RAM and a dual core with quadruple the L2 cache processor is difficult. The specifications of your laptop actually said he had 3 gigabytes of RAM... Why your have only 2? Can you check the memory physically to ensure that both modules are seated? If I had to choose, I guess I would take the CPU if I could make only memory or the CPU. Before that, although I could check the system monitor and see if the system is having to use swap memory. If this is the case, then I would upgrade the RAM and not the processor. Nothing slows a system like having to use virtual memory (swap). I think that a base load for Windows 7 requires perhaps 1.25 GB so with 2 GB, you have not a lot of margin. I would also do a msconfig and get rid of the programs to autostart as much as possible.
