HP HDX 16t chipsets and processors Acceptable

As I searched for hours and could not find this information, I thought I'd post my findings.  I contacted Intel and here's what they say for the 16 t with 130M nVidia graphics card:

-intel 4 Series Chipset PM45 (http://www.intel.com/products/notebook/chipsets/pm45/pm45-overview.htm)

-A list of acceptable CPUs is located here (http://ark.intel.com/chipset.aspx?familyID=35515) but I don't know who i/o Controller is a member of the Council.  Device Manager indicates an ICH9M.  I'll have to do some research to find out exactly what are the processors will work.

HDX 16T CTO-1200
nVidia GT 130 M
P9700 Core 2 Duo Intel (2.80 GHz) @ 28W
8 GB DDR2-800

OK, so I installed CPU - Z which ID the chipset as an Intel 82 PM 45 (AKA series 4 PM45) and the southbridge 82801 m (AKA ICH9-M)

This means that according to the specifications of intel, the list of acceptable CPUs is as follows:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9800 (2.93 GHz, front side bus at 1066 MHz, 6 MB Cache)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9900 (3.06 GHz, front side bus at 1066 MHz, 6 MB Cache)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P9500 (6 M Cache, 2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P9600 (2.66 GHz, front side bus at 1066 MHz, 6 MB Cache)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P9700 processor (6 M Cache, 2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53 GHz, front side bus at 1066 MHz, 6 MB Cache)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9550 (2.66 GHz, front side bus at 1066 MHz, 6 MB Cache)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9600 processor (6 M Cache, 2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8800 (3 m Cache, 2.66 GHz, bus front-end to 1066 MHz)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8400 processor (3 m Cache, 2.26 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (3 m Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

Processor Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8700 (3 m Cache, 2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

The list located in the HP service manual plus:

Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 CPU 2.93 GHz with 6 MB of cache L2 and FSB 1066 MHz 507951-001
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80 GHz with 6 MB of cache L2 and FSB 1066 MHz 500604-001
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 2.66 GHz with 6 MB of cache L2 and FSB 1066 MHz 507953-001

Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T7350 2.00 GHz 3 MB of cache L2 and FSB 1066 MHz 503392-001

The 'P' processors use power more low and the smallest voltage max.  The HP chat support agent do not think that he would have no problem using them.  The support chat agent also said that an upgrade of the processor may void the warranty.  While I don't think that's true, I am obliged to pass this warning along.  I guarantee that if you break something while disassembling the laptop or restore, it will cancel your warranty for sure.

NOTE: I am not guarantee anything.  I'm about to order a P9700 to test it out and I'll report back.  The P9700 is not as fast as the T9800, T9900 on list of Intel, but it has a low power consumption (vs 28W 35W) and is much cheaper ($360 vs $500)

For those of you wondering about use of the Quad core and intel Extreme processors, they all use 44W - 45W, distinguished by the ship of processors of 35W.  It probably means that Quad core won't work, even if you really don't want to use anyway because they draw much more power and reduce the life of the battery for nothing.

I was wondering if possible to upgrade my memory and processor... hp pavilion dv7 1260us?

    Here are the specs:

    Plug

You have an AMD Turion RM-74 processor and 4 GB of RAM. The RAM is DDR2 and it may take 8 GB of DDR2, but that the memory of any reputable vendor is crazy expensive, like $150 ++ for 2 x 4 gig modules.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The top of the page compatible processor is an AMD Turion™ Ultra Dual-Core 35W ZM-86 2.40 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache

If you want to go from 2.2 ghz to 1 meg to 2.4 ghz with 2 MB of L2 cache L2 cache, may be a treatment of 20% energy improvement. Not enough, IMO, to justify the difficulty because it is still not in the ballpark of machines of today.

You can buy the processor from a dealer renowned for $15 with free shipping. That should tell you what the demand is for her. Basically obsolete.

  • Motherboard and processor upgrades

Is there anyway I can find out what motherboard and processor will be compatible with my laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-1FK and be an upgrade of the original equipment fitted. Toshiba has tried, but they don't want to know. I have the details of the specification for the processor and the motherboard and am looking for advice on where to find the technical information that will tell me what is happening with that without it breaking. Of the spec. sheet I have the motherboard was made by Toshiba and gives the chipset model and relevant details. The processor is an Intel Celeron 585 and once again have all the details of the spec... Have doubled from two to four memory and changed the hard drive for an SSD that has made a big difference in the speeding things up. If I can get just a better motherboard and processor so I'm home and dry. Can anyone help please?

You should contact Toshiba for this information.  Laptops do not have motherboards standards or processors, so you can't just buy one and put in it, it must be specially designed for your laptop.

  • HP Pavilion 15-ab150sa: HP Notebook System BIOS update (and processors)

Hi, I bought the HP Pavilion 15-ab150sa last weekend and have had many problems since getting it. Kept freezing and condensation WiFi shortly after logging in.

I found there were 6 updates that need running that are not automatically showing until I scanned for them in HPSA.

Its took me 4 days to get the updates for the most part actually fill and it seems to work a lot better now, however, I have an update for HP Notebook System NIOS update (AND processor) keeps a failure...

    Any ideas?

Please keep it simple, I'm not very good with technical information. :-)

    Greg

    Hi Greg,.

    Try the following.

If the update of the bios still work in HPSA, click the Stop button.

Close HPSA, restart the computer, and then download the update of the Bios from the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp75001-75500/sp75199.exe

Once the download is complete, close other open windows and programs, then open your download folder and double-click the installer to start the process.  The real flash will occur when you restart the machine - do not interrupt it somehow, even if nothing seems to be happening for a while - when it is finished, the machine will load in Windows as usual.

Note:  If the update option arises as being 'blocked on this device', you will need to contact HP in this regard.

    Kind regards

I want to change my HP Pavilion DV7 3010eg motherboard and processor. As well as the graphics, if possible. Need suggestions. Please guide so I can do.

Well, you can certainly to some extent, but the question is whether you should. There is no Motherboard upgrade. You have the best AMD motherboard that can fit in the plastic case, with the highest card and the best video. You can upgrade the processor to a:

    AMD Turion™ X 2 Ultra Dual-Core M640 35 - W, 2.60 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache

The Parental account for my child's account has been disabled for inactivity and to accept the new terms of use for the xbox update must be parental confirmation. I can't do this because even when you type the parental email address in the password recovery, it does not recognize because because it is inactive. My other question is also if you can't reactivate can you switch parental permissions to another account.

If your Vista came pre-installed, so it's an OEM license - and replace the motherboard except in conditions of warranty is not allowed. Notice of MS, the card mother IS the computer
You will need to purchase a new FULL version commercial license and edition of Windows you want - from the motherboard is (probably) new, it must run Windows 7 with happiness.

  • Windows 7 genuine? New motherboard and processor

    Hello

My motherboard and processor is dead, and you can buy them is out, so I had to buy a different motherboard and a different processor. Nothing has changed. Windows 7 activated without problem, it says "The Activation was successful" and that my Windows 7 is "authentic".

What I've heard of before is now Windows 7 becoming not authentic after the installation of updates. Is this true? I have a legitimate copy of Windows bought on Amazon. I've already talked to Microsoft to see if I could turn on a new motherboard and CPU, and they said that the key was "good" and I could activate on the new Board of Directors and the CPU.

So is this windows genuine? I have no call at all MS activation. And it will become inauthentic after installing updates?

Thank you for your help. Happy new year!

    Alex

Very well. I was advised by Tom Hardware forums and Windows 7 Forum that as long as the button is activated, it will be good to use, and it can be activated because unlike most recent motherboards, the motherboard has no SLIC, integrated into the BIOS feature.

    Thanks for your help.

  • After the new motherboard and processor installation Windows requires key, key to the sticker will not validate.

I installed a new motherboard and processor to my PC and now it's me demanding in the news two days to activate windows. I type the product key that is located on the sticker and it refuses to validate. Assistance is needed.

The key on the sticker code is assigned to the brand of the computer to which it is applied. Regardless of the brand, changed the m/b and the CPU (unless provided by the original manufacturer is a NEW computer.)

If the advice of George do not work, you will need to purchase Windows 7 new...

  • What are my options since I changed my motherboard and processor and now license is not valid?

Friends, I had problems with my old build of three year with windows 7 pro 64 oem.  only now, I discovered the reason for windows refuses to activate on new construction, that I had to do because of these problems. I didn't have to have a new motherboard and processor would make unnecessary the my copy of windows. It was in my mind that there where windows 'lived' was in the hard drive. one of the reasons why I had to build another 'computer' should make a visual studio 8 microsoft c ++ problem I could not find any solution. now after an unexpected and costly reconstruction, I don't have the money to get a new license. so now, I guess that in 13 days I no longer have a computer at all. It's incredibly disappointing for me. are there any other options out there for me? Thank you for your time and your consideration.

    Try again by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/950929/en-us

If this does not work, you can simply register and purchase a new license.
