HP HDX18 1005EA

Can my laptop evolve USP 2.0 to 3.0?

Hello

No, you can't convert from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 port port. But according to the comment of a reader, Expresscard 54 mm slot:

http://www.Trustedreviews.com/HP-HDX18-1005ea-18-4in-Notebook_Laptop_review_feature-table_Page-4#tr-review-summary

You can use something like one of the following cards:

http://www.Mwave.com.au/product/Shintaro-2-port-USB-30-Express-card-shusb3ex-aa01252?gclid=CMLuga7izLwCFUEgpQod_xIACg

(Note: this card is 32mm in width, but should work in the 52mm slot)

Kind regards.

Hello, I own a hp HDX18-1080EL, display and damaged, on the internet, I got a working one with an hp HDX18-1005EA, can you tell me if it's compatible?

    Hi @Giuseppe_house7 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your HP HDX18-1080EL Premium Notebook and problems with the compatible screen. Looking at the two manuals for the product description page shows me that they are the same display panel.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • 1005EA HDX18

    Hi all..

My question is, using basic computer, in this case a HDX!) 1005EA. is possible to completely change the system of this laptop (I know that would be a problem)

But also mother/processor/map video/ram ect but leeping change, map the appearance and the size of the original laptop?

    Thanks for all the help!

RAM is always an easy upgrade that can be done on any system. Crucial check or websites of kingston for their memory check tools to see how you can support.

With respect to the replacement of a CPU/motherboard, it's a bit more complicated. Central units can be mounted on the surface for the old boards, because it was the general practice. But if not you still not the BIOS supports even though the socket sizes are compatible.

With a laptop of this age (5 years I think) you will struggle to find the components that are compatible. If you can't find anything, you run the risk of their being scratched systems and can never be sure if they will last. They also probably have you cost more than eeconomical for the upgrade.

In my opinion, and if you ask my opinion, 3rd or 4th gen based icore computer laptop would be much more worthy of investment. You will have to pay twice as much, but the laptop will do five times as much and faster and your less likely to regret your decision in a year or twice

  • HDX18-1020US Blu - Ray on Vista 32-bit

I have a new HDX18-1020US that came with Vista 64 - Bit and Blu - Ray.  I decided to convert 32-bit Vista (some software I need does not work on 64-bit) and have completed the conversion (enough patches and downloads from pilot to choke a horse).  What does not work is the Blu - Ray player and it will not play any DVD movies.  I send a query to HP and they said they will not support it in this way, even if they have drivers for Vista 32-bit, XP and Windows 2000.

Also, they do not have the software for Vista 64-bit.

All the ideas and where to get the software?

    I solved my problem.

I also have a Pavilion dv9750us, another laptop Blu - Ray and running Vista 32 bit.  I took a download of HP QuickPlay and installed on the other computer.

BTW-update for HP QuickPlay and the worst I've ever seen. He keeps the opn say you there's a newer version, you forcing to download another 150 MB file, uninstall the previous version and installing the new version.  I went through this 4 times!

  • HDX18: the upgrade of my hard drive

I have a portable hdx18 I want to improve a few things on.  I thougt go to a SSD hard drive but do not know what is compatible with my laptop.  I've seen drives that specify the SATA, SATA II and SATA III.  Can you please help?

On another note, I also want to upgrade the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB.  I've seen some people say that their HDX18 can take memory DDR3.  Is this fair?

    Thank you, Henry

The MX100 has generated some problems here, where HP laptops will not detect the SSD. So I would say on something other than this one. The model number of the laptop is usually printed on the bottom or in the battery bay.

  • HP HDX18 TouchPad (no tapping or pressed):(aider s'il vous plaît)

    Hello

I have a HP HDX18; laptop and 2 days ago, that the touch pad no longer responds to tapping and also by clicking (buttons).

I can only move the cursor autour, but that's all.

So I have to use an external mouse which is terrible for a laptop.

I have no idea as why it did stop working, but my only guess, it's that I touched the cushion while my hands were wet.

and maybe a little water seeped through or something.

But how is it, I can still use the touch pad to move the cursor, even if the outlet is not functioning.

I tried activation and reactivation, UN and re - install the driver, and I even tried a few suggestions in other threads here,

    but nothing works.

    Should I get a replacement?

    How and where?

    I am running Vista64, 8G of RAM.

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.

    Thank you!

HP would charge like $400 and not your part Yes use, your best bet is a MOM computer store and dad that works on laptops. Ask for references, but it is a 7 or 8 on the scale of 10 for difficulty so any tech competent should be able to handle it. Only, it takes the removal and replacement of a lot of screws, but doesn't require removal of the motherboard.

  • Is a HP 6.15 A 120W HDX18-compatible adapter 19.5V?

Original adapter from my HDX18 died this week, and I ordered two new genuine HP adapters with the exact specifications I need. However, my graphic/web design company is executed only that the laptop and I client work I need to do while I'm waiting for my new adapters to arrive. I have my client files stored externally, but no laptop I can borrow has, in the meantime, the software that I have to do my job. A friend of source on for me a 6.15 A 120W adapter to borrow 19.5V, but my original adapter specifications are 18.5V 6. 5A 120W. The difference in volts and amps will not affect me (damage to my laptop or the adapter) if I use this adapter with my HDX18 for a week or two?

the code on a spare elitebook charger a smart charger, same HP seen & have used in 18.5V older ok.
    Safe to try.

  • Need picture of the power connector for 1010EA HDX18

Hi, I hope someone can help here.  I received a 1010EA HDX18 does not work - no power, no boot, nothing.  External review, I think that taking on the right rear of the body seems very strange.  Inside the cylinder are exposed pins and apartments that are not held in a safe position.  It looks great to me as a form of plastic any broke away leaving exposed internal connections.

Can someone report a clear picture of how this should look like? Or confirm or deny what I see here.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

  • HP HDX 16-1005EA 601 battery error.

Hello, recently when passing on my laptop I got error 601 battery at startup.

I have a laptop computer HDX16-1005EA and the operation of windows 7. Since the error my laptop turns off instantaniously after disconnecting power supply.

I also used the HP battery check and it says that my 'main' battery has a fault, and I should have basically replaced.

Also the battery charge not more than 93% more no matter how much time the laptop is in charge.

Is it the battery or the battery that plugs into the laptop to be replaced?

It's not the CMOS battery battery. There is a huge difference in price.

Batteries for portable computers becomes defective after two years is relatively common. It all depends on how you have your power set up options and how you use your laptop.

Do you have calibrated your battery?

After the calibration of your battery if the symptoms remain the same, I would strolgly consider to replace the main battery of the laptop with a new one. Be sure and calibrate your new battery shortly after its initial charge.

You must update the BIOS of your laptop if the version isn't F.32

There has been several BIOS updates since the original. All you need is the current.

  • HDX18: Cannot access the BIOS with F10

Try to access my BIOS to set the boot on USB device sequence. Can't!

Power and press F10 repeatedly does not bring me in the config of the BIOS beeps fair to me when my keyboard buffer is full and then continues in charge of the operating system.

Never see option to press the keys to access BIOS either.

Thanks for trying to help out.

My system is a laptop from earlier versions of Windows 8 (2010) and MUST have posted the option to enter in the configuration at the start, but didn't. I had previously improved OS 32 bit to 64 bit - who created another folder Program Files, which in turn have brought masses of disk space. I then upgraded to Windows 10 and did not like the slow, he ran then, I wanted to install a clean Windows 10 and created a bootable USB device. That's when I found I couldn't access the BIOS to change my boot device.

After trying everything I could find without success, I started the machine and once Windows has loaded, I pressed the SHIFT key and select restart. This brought me to the screen Menu UEFI. I went to watch each of the options - no led me across a good kind, I moved back to the main menu screen and clicked on continue - go out and continue to load Windows.

After getting a black screen, I can FINALLY see the option - press ESC to enter Setup... Hooray!

    Problem solved - for now!

I saw the keyboard on eBay for $30.00 USD. You should be able to find that a qualified person who can replace it for you while you wait. It all depends on where you stand in the world.  The keyboard is easy to Exchange if you know what you're doing. The American keyboard HP part number is 496672-001.
