HP Jet 7 tablet 5709

The User Guide for the HP Stream - 5709 User Guide 7 Tablet reads:
Your tablet can run on battery or external power supply. When the Tablet is running on
only battery power and a power source is not available to charge the battery, it is important to
monitor and maintain the charge of the battery.

A HP technician just told me there is no 'adapter' and only the power of the battery can be used.

What Miss me?

Also, is there a simple way to explain why only 32 GB micro SD cards can be used?

(Maximum 32 GB or completely wrong?)

Thank you.

I have a 64 GB card installed, because I had one not used.  Format to NTFS, exFAT, all are taken in charge and all 64 GB is recognized.

  • Jet 7 Tablet 5709: HP Jet 7 touch screen does not work in Windows even if it works in the BIOS menu advanced starup

Less than two months ago, I upgraded my HP Jet Windows 7 to 10. Over time some questions popped up (random apps that could not be opened, etc.) so I decided to do a full reset, deleting the files from the user. Once the 'install' process is complete he brought me to the initial configuration for Windows 10 screen, asking me my keyboard and language preference. He would not accept any contact entry. I rebooted it and he went to the advanced configuration where I could use the touch screen to do a complete reset. That has not changed anything. I found the info on the HP website and did a reset of the BIOS. That has not changed anything. I got an OTG cable, but was not able to get a keyboard work. I did, however, get a mouse works and has managed to create a new user and login. However, the touchscreen does not work in Windows. I was able to get into the settings and looked at the Device Manager settings. There was only a mouse driver listed under Human Interface. I also noticed a number of question marks in the subtopic of the processor drivers.

I was able to use the OTG cable to try to re - install Windows 10 from a USB key. When a similar initial settings (language, keyboard) screen broke, I couldn't use the touchscreen. Later, I created a USB with Windows 8.1 thinking he might have a better chance. The same problem. He does not touch inputs. And with a key USB installed via the OTG cable, I can't launch a mouse at the same time.

It is strange that I have not the problem in the BIOS or advanced startup options. It seems that there is a corruption somewhere, but how do I fix?

    Hello Moronihah,

You did a clean install (delete all files and programs) the 2nd time you reinstalled Windows 10?

That's what you need to do first.

Then, you have to go to the HP website and install the drivers on your USB.

Above all, you need to include the Goodix Touch Controller Driver and pilot, allowing Malta G-Sensor.

    HP Software and Driver Downloads

You're using a hub 4 ports with your OTG cable? Which will allow you to use the mouse, the keyboard and the entire USB drive.

What can I do to get a running Stream 7 tablets?

    Hello Aberger,

I guess that you have improved your 7 to 10 of Windows Workflow, but now you want to reinstall Windows 8.1, correct?

If you went to go back beyond the 30 day trial period, you can use the image USB, you must have created 8.1 Windows before installing Windows 10.

IF you have not done this media, you will need to clean install Windows 8.1 with Bing.

You can not install ordinary Windows 8.1 copy unless you buy a new key.

Machines that accompanies Windows 8.1 no longer a sticker with a key to the subject because the key is embedded in the bios. Installing Windows 8.1 with Bing will activate when he sees the key in the bios.

During the installation process, you may need to click Skip to ignore entered the key until Windows has installed fully. If so, this will cause windows to enter a Limited State of Activation. When you connect to the internet to update, it will fully activate.

You must contact the HP Support directly to the new copy of the installation media if you do not already have.

I went to reset the tablet to factory deleting all my files, etc. The Tablet has a 32 GB card in addition to the main unit.

During the recovery process, a message appeared that the reset was able to complete. A Cancel button was presented to that I pushed.

When I went to restart the Tablet, came the HP logo but nothing else. I stop and reloaded several times. The Tablet is now a brick...

I then connected the tablet to my PC. 10 Windows PC does not recognize the tablet.

What can I do to at least restore to factory settings?

You can order a USB at HP recovery or do a new install of Windows 10 using the downloadable installation of Microsoft image, instructions are here.

If you have connected the charging cable into the PC's USB port, the PC does not recognize the tablet of flow, it's normal.

  • Where are the drivers for HP Jet 7 Tablet - 5701na?

It seems that HP have pulled the drivers for the HP Jet 7 Tablet - 5701na... I downloaded the wireless BIOS a couple of days and stupidly didn't have them locally, now, a few days later, I return to the site and no driver is listed for this model!

Anyone know where I can get these drivers?

    Hello:

Unfortunately, the support pages do not work for most new PC HP.

It has been like this for about a day now.

Since I'm not employed by nor do I represent HP, I do not know when they will have pages working again.

    Come back again later.

With the Independence Day holiday in the USA weekend, I wouldn't wait it to be taken care of immediately.

I received a reply from Microsoft - I have no internet access either but their suggestion was to reinstall the drivers in compatibility mode.  As I don't have access to the internet, I have the drivers that I downloaded from HP support to 'fix' a problem before.  I reinstalled these older drivers in Mode "Comatibility" as suggested by Microsoft and that fixed the problem.  It seems that, somehow, the drivers have been corrupted and which prevented access to the internet and hand up during windodws updated.

    All better now.

  • Jet 7 Tablet not will not load.

See, the problem is, whenever I plug in the charger, it says plugged in, does not support. It may be the charger because I tried to use my charger of both sisters, and my charger works very well for his. It seems to work less and less each time I turn on the tablet. I tried to plug it into several different outlets as well. I don't know if its because of the battery, or if it is the charger port. Whatever it is, it is not done better, soon it will not even be the most. He charges that very slowly when it is off, about 10% every two hours. I'd love any help that anyone can give me.

Sorry to be paranoid, I think I found the problem. It is with the charger port, I think that it is unable to maintain the small pieces on top of the charger. If I hold it a certain way, or if I tap the charger on the back of the Tablet, she collects very well. Thanks for answering me.

  • HP Jet 7 Tablet USB COM Port

I intend to buy a tablet of 7 with win 8 HP Stream to act as an interface dedicated to a legacy application (time recorder software)

The software requires the Port COM 3 or COM 4, on a regular windows PC I can usually assign another COM port to whatevers on COM 4 and free it upward, the implementation of windows 7 Stream will allow this? I think I readsomewhere that bluetooth is on 4 COM on this computer.

Also the implementation of Windows 8 allows to assign a legacy version of Windows for example. XP or Vista for an application?

    Hey @DCraigC ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are looking for information about the features of the operating system on the 7 Tablet flow.

Flow 7 running Windows 8.1 and has all the same features of BONE as a desktop computer or laptop. Windows 8.1 allows an application to run in Compatibility Mode, which is what I think you are looking for.

I suggest you to test the features you're after on another computer Windows 8.1, to confirm that they are running correctly, before committing to the purchase of 7 flow.

    I hope this helps.

  • Warranty start date shows two and a half months too early

HP Jet 7 Tablet - 5709. Tablet received 24/01/15 and I signed it that day. When I go to my page to check the warranty and enter my serial number, it indicates the date of start of guarantee a November 5, 2014.  When I wrote to HP Support, my answer States (case: edited by moderator): "Support case manager is not available at this time for HP Stream 5709 7 Tablet."

I'm confused.  All I want is the correct date for my tablet. Who should I contact to get this resolved?  Thank you

  • [HP JET 7] Macrium key bootable usb omitting 7 flow HP Tablet boot

7 HP flow is connected via an otg cable to a 4 port non powered usb hub.  The hub contains a keyboard, mouse, and usb key.

The recovery media is through the Macrium Reflect (that is installed on the HP Jet 7 Tablet) on a usb key.  Media is created correctly because it has been tested in another machine and it starts successfully.

I entered the start menu of the HP 7 flow by holding down the volume key and power when starting.  In the start menu, I changed the boot order so that usb sticks/multi-utilisations are the first options in the boot order.  Secure boot has also been disabled.

Within Windows 8.1 with Bing, I used the following to restart the Tablet and tried to boot the usb key:

charm of settings-> change advanced pc-> update and Recovery-> startup-> restore settings
New screen with "choose an option.
    Choose "use a device.
    EFI USB device

On reboot, I get the error message: failure of selected boot device

I want to make sure that the boot with a usb key works as Macrium backup is useless unless I can actually start the system up to the restoration of the image.

    Any suggestions?

The issue is not with the software that I use.  The problem is with the tablet itself.   What is so difficult to grasp here?  As usual, I understand the question myself.

I love how everything is never the question with the hardware itself, but ALWAYS something else.  I have been more than sufficient depth with my explanation, but the same lame attempts at a solution are presented over and over again.

What version of Microsoft office, you are referring to?  Office 365 by chance?

  • HP Jet 7: Bulge battery HP Jet 7

The back has recently jumped off my HP Jet 7, the cause being a battery that has swollen/bulged/developed to the point that the rear cannot be put back.  The case of the battery, now feels a bit stable, but common sense tells me not to prod it too!

The device is now 4 months out of warranty, and a unit of £75, probably don't bother to pay for any kind of repair.

Does anyone have any suggestions on either a house made of difficulty, or if HP are likely to be opened for helping me see is a potentially dangerous failure.

Ideas received with gratitude. Thank you.

    Hello Simon,.

A battery that has expanded also failed and is no longer usable.

There are battery replacements now available on the web if you do a little research. They are relatively expensive, although I've never bought an and do not vouch for any online business. Order at your own discretion.

  • Flow of HT 7-5709 - Boot/startup problems

I just bought the HP Jet 7 tablet.  The first time I turned on the Tablet, I saw the HP logo for a few seconds and the device off.  The dots has not yet come full circle.  I thought it might be a power problem, so I plugged it and saw the charging symbol on the screen.  I waited for a while and tried again.  I had to hold the power button on 5 + seconds until I could see the backlight lights up so I know it wasn't sleep.

This time, he said "Automatic repair of preparation."  Points of fact just two revolutions and the device suddenly stops.  Next time, he had no any text and points to the subject a spin before stopping.

I let it charge overnight.  I tried from the start this morning and it alternates between the two start modes.  Points are about a year and a half laps if there is no text and about two if it says "Automatic repair of preparation."

I'm able to get in the boot without difficulty menu.  The diagnostic system is no problem.  The only thing that stands out on the screen "System information", it is that the "born on Date" is "00/00/0000." The date of the main battery is "27/10/2014."

I went to the website listed on the start menu (hp.com/go/techcenter/startup), but don't see anything relevant.

If I select F11 (System Restore) in the start menu, it returns me to a screen with an HP logo and the text "Please wait".  Points do two or three laps and the powers of the device down.

    Suggestions?

Yes, I had this problem and a few others here did too.  The solution is to run the battery completely down and it will say 'reset CMOS' when you put it to the top.  It should then be started normally.  You can expedite the discharge of the battery by running UEFI Boot Menu F2 System Diagnostics = > System Tests = > large trial = > loop up to the error.  If you have an OTG adpater, you can also plug a USB hub without power or whatever USB devices you have and who's going to pull it down faster.

Another option is to disconnect the battery, HP Jet 7 Tablet Maintenance and Service Guide says this can be done by simply removing the back cover, but this seems incorrect.  I watched my 7 steam and the cable of the battery falls below the intermediate mount cover so this must also be removed to expose the system board and the battery connector, it is held by six screws.  I opted to run the battery instead.

Once the shelf upward, toward the latest EFI firmware update should hopefully prevent him of happening again.
