HP LaserJet 1000

I have a printer HP LaserJet 1000 that I really love.  Its cartridges last long and are inexpensive.  However, I got a new laptop about a year ago and was forced in a Vista operating system and cannot use this printer.  I now have a second laptop with Windows 7, which also cannot use this printer.  I tried the HP website to see if there are updates driver out there with no luck.  As old as the printer is I doubt that HP is working on the pilot for this model.  Does anyone know how to use this driver for my Vista or Windows 7 computers?  Or should I give up my old reliable for a printer Gobeurs toner with expensive tastes?

Unfortunately if HP doesn't make drivers for it or don't suggest a set of compatible replacement of Windows 7 drivers for it, there is no way you will get to work.

How can I get the drivers for my HP Laserjet 1000, the manufacturer refuses to support. Don't seem to be able to get the compatibility either. don't want to buy a new printer - this one is good for years yet! Thanks in advance
    Kimig

    Hi Kimig,

Sorry you're having problems with your printer driver. The link that gave you Vijay was the correct link by HP to download the Windows 7 drivers for the printer HP laserjet 1000. If these don't work no please let us know.

In addition, please keep in mind due to the extreme number of devices that are made for Windows platforms, it is not possible for Microsoft create drivers or to put pressure on the companies for each hardware device that was created. If the driver does not work as shown on the HP site please contact HP and see if they have a newer driver for your pritner other than what was released on September of 2009.

I hope this helps. Shawn - Support Engineer - MCP, MCDST

  • Windows 8.1 LaserJet 1000 connected by USB - driver support?

The printer is recognized through the control panel of configuration/Printers devices menu but said that no driver is available.

The website says this printer is using a driver "in the BONE" and provides a process through the Add Printer Wizard which is supposed to show the driver.  I have goen through this process a couple of times, including the flow of Windows Update and see a long list of printers, but not the LaserJet 1000.

Do I find this driver in the list - or another driver does support the 1000 printer?

  • HP laserjet 1000 does not not with 'new' drivers

We are a small company have 2 of these machines and now that we're migrating to windows 7, the first machine, I did is currently running windows 7 Professional 64 bitl.  It is computer networked host is xp, sp3.

I tried all the solutions, nothing works.  I've used the workaround of compatibility, still no luck.  tried the Server 2003, do not see.

It's not good, to provide a printer driver should not be that hard, the other posts, I found here were of 2012, more than TWO years ago.

Please let me know what I should do, or what I need to do what a person has done, buy canon printers to solve problems?

2 years ago, they came with a universal driver 'temporary' while working on one, so that was false?  It is the vapor ware?  or they just felt that it was not worth the time.

This has always been a problem for me.  HP has some good products, especially their laser printers, this is why I recommended their purchase to my boss.  We have 2 printers works perfectly which, because of the greed of microsofts and refusal of HP product support beyond a certain point, will now be pressepapiers?  HP support has always been a problem, not the best out there, while more aid is not as good as it was with cut backs, outsourcing, etc.

I guess we'll just have to move on, buy another series of printers and just get away from HP products.

  • Device for the HP LaserJet 1000 series printer drivers

The answer seems very obvious. You have two choices:

1 replace your printer with one that is compatible with Windows 7.

    2. Replace with a version of Windows that is compatible with Windows 7
    your printer.

Here is my standard message on this topic:

Whenever you switch to a new version of Windows, you must install
drivers for printers, scanners, video cards, etc., that have been
written for this new version of Windows.  And also note that you need
different determinants for a 32-bit version of Windows and a 64-bit
    Version.

It is the manufacturer of the hardware to write and
available to download these drivers. Especially if your hardware is
older, it is quite possible that the manufacturer has decided that it is not
a value of his time and effort to develop drivers for the hardware that it is
    selling more.
Check with the manufacturer or on their web site to see if a pilot
There are. If not, you're out of luck.

In the future, before making such an upgrade, make sure you have
done the appropriate research to find out what drivers do not exist,
and so what equipment you need to replace if you upgrade.
