  I am here to share my idea to install the printer hp laserjet 1020 in windows 7.

  There no driver for windows 7 until mid-November.

  I installed the driver for laserjet 1020 on windwos 7, here is the method to install the driver of windows 7 for laserjet 1020.

  1. 1st download all laserjet 1020 base of the printer driver for windows vista. You can it to the bottom of this link

  2. After you download the driver for vista check it out same exe file with winrar and then go to Device Manager, then HP laserjet 1020 which is indicated as a device unknown and do right click on it and after this update the driver

  3 and after that go to the folder where extarct vista driver exe and select it.

  Tried to uninstall the printer drivers but failed. Message-installation met with an abnormal program execution. the installation program stops. It was using the hp uninstallprogram. Tried the HP diaqnositc. Said the functions of printer ok, but couldn't pront a test page.

  Installed new drivers.started more but no test page printed.

  You can unplug the printer and run a test print that goes to print that and holds. Printer and clears Quebec but no page prints.

  Can we go in the devices folder and printers and on the top of the page taskbar, click Delete printer? If not, then...

  You can also go to your C: / / drive, then Program files, then the HP folder and delete the driver HP LaserJet 1020 from there. Not the ideal way to do it but you can do it this way.

  Once you have done this, return to your file devices and printers, ensures that any printer (no matter what we as long as it isn't the 1020 so that is always on display) has a green check mark, and then in the task bar, click on the print server property. Open and click on the driver tab, if the 1020 does not appear here then it shouldn't be in your driver store more. If it is displayed in the list, try to remove it by clicking on the button Delete. When the pop-up appears, try to delete the driver only. Repeat the process, and then try remove driver and driver package. Sometimes the second option does not work until you make the first option, sometimes it does not. If it does not, you must go to your C: / / drive and delete the file following the steps above. Make sense?

  Make sure you have removed the download folder and Recycle Bin and you should be well re-boot and re-install.

  To answer your question, YES, it is compatible with Win10 - but you must use the HP software and drivers, not the one that is provided by Microsoft.

  You must download and install full feature software and drivers for the printer.

  Remove all the drivers and software that Microsoft install for the printer.

  Then unplug the printer and install the software.

  Do reconnect the printer until the installation program invited to do so.

  Once the installation is complete, restart.

  You should then be able to use your printer in Win10.

  Hello. I have the problem. I recently installed Windows 7 x 64, and when I tried to install the driver for my LaserJet 1020 of the site, an error appeared.

  First of all, when I launched the driver installation program, I have subscribed to the license agreement and proceeded. Than, in the loading bar appears, it came with 3 branches of division inside and above text was as "preinstall the driver files.   And one more: in Program Files-> HP folder there is a lot of driver files (which seem to not work) and another file with the same file and folder inside HP HP... Recurrence, I think.

  So, what should I do? I can't use my printer for a long time because of this driver!

  I've updated mny Laserjet 1020 driver on Windows 7 and now the printer default to double-sided printing, but I don't want this option turned on. I can't find any property where I can disable this default value.

  Glad to see that you have solved the problem. Just to make this clear solution for everyone... I have attached a screenshot and the directions below on how to cut manual duplex printing...

  Go to your printer icon. Click Printing Preferences. Click on the finish tab and make sure that:

  1. to print on both sides (manually) = checked. You can get a pop up with each print job after that, so beware

  2. NOT to print on both sides (manually) = unchecked.

  Additionally, make sure that when you print a document that your game your appropriate printing preferences by clicking on Print Properties (from the application you are printing from) and then making sure the impression on both sides is clicked or says no

  I would use my HP LaserJet printer, who worked previously with Windows 98SE with my HP/Compaq laptop which runs on Windows 8.1 (x 64). My HP/Compaq laptop is not connected to the Internet. Is it possible for me to download the drivers for Windows 8.1 desktop my HP laptop and move the pilots in a DVD which I can install them in the HP/Compaq?   I understand you are trying to download the drivers for your Laserjet 1020 printer on a single computer, burn the drivers to a DVD player and install it on another computer. It should work without any problems.

  was wondering if anyone has problems printing of victory 8.1, used doctor HP printing and scanning and said everything's fine but a test page does not print as I can't print anything from another category windows 8.1. using windows 8 that I had no problem printing, I've updated all the drivers

  Also when I connect my laptop using windows 7 it prints, and with them turn off the printer laserjet 1020, then plug in the USB cable and windows 8.1 it will be printed.

  But when I turn off the 1020 laser jet, then turn it back on then try to print windows 8.1 that it will NOT print

  I understand that you can not print with Win 8.1.

  Drivers for win 8 and 8.1 Win are the two Version 9.
  Make sure that you uninstall the previous printer software.

  I'm going to print something and the troublescreen said: The HP LaserJet 1020 has the open front door or the toner cartridge is missing. But the door is closed and the cartridge is fine. I put a new in after the message started appearing thinking that the low level of ink was casusing the change. I suspect a mechanical switch is kaput, but do not want to enter the machine. All the switches look and feel like they are working normally.

  This little machine of love, it's a real workhorse, simple and effective.  I use a laptop Samsung with Windows 7 and my actions joint the printer using a Toshiba PC. We both get the same response from our little hp... todius

  I will now let you know that we have done to resolve this.  My wife has stuck a pencil in the slot of reception for the closed cover pin located on the corner left front of the top cover. She shook it until she was able to close the lid and printing. He now works as it always has.

  According to this page , this printer is supported by Apple and its driver comes with OS. But when I add the printer in the "Print & Scan' it says that the driver for this printer is NOT available at Apple.

  Does anyone know how to use this printer on MacOSX?

  The insistence on the part of HP the 1020 has never supported on Mac is total nonsense. The Laserjet 1020 has been announced and sold as being compatible with Mac. I bought mine from an authorized retailer of Mac and still have the original box with the 'Compatible Mac' sticker on this subject. I have been running the 1020 with my iMac G5 for 5 years and never had any problem of support until I bought an iMac OS X Lion last week. The refusal to support this product is nothing more than a grab for money to force users to buy new equipment, despite owning a printer otherwise fully functional.

  Fortunately, you can run the 1020 on Lion with the 1022 driver. Follow the instructions at the top of the following link and read the extra step for Lion in the #63 comment. Printer driver use the 1.3 1022 and you should have no trouble to get your printer to work.

  2. In System Preferences, click Print & scanning.
  3. Click on the Plus sign.
  4. Select the LJ 1020 printer listed.
  5. Click the drop-down list next to use or using Print and click Select printer software.
  6. Select the HP Laserjet 1022 in the list.
  7. Click OK to confirm your selection and add the printer, and then try to print using the configured queue.

  Hi guys,.

  I am trying to install my HP LaserJet 1020 on my new Mountain Lion anyway I am not able to find a driver! HP web page to the specific address says I can "Refresh" this printer by using the Apple software update anyway I don't see any update or installation on it.

  With the previous version of the operating system was possible to download a .dmg for HP LaserJet 1022. I tried to download and install the driver for Snow Leopard in any case I do not see any entry when I try to select a driver for my printer during the installation phase (the list contains only two very generic drivers for HP printers).

  The Laserjet 1020 officially is not compatible with Mountain Lion, however, try to use the following workaround:

  Install the HP Printer Drivers 2.9 package by clicking on the download button below:

  http://support.Apple.com/kb/DL907

  After completing the installation, go to System Preferences > print & fax.

  Click on the sign more and select the printer.

  If you still see a generic driver selected, click the menu drop-down use and then click Select printer software.

  In the list, select the HP Laserjet 1022 and add the printer.

  Now try printing using the configured queue.
