  • Qosmio G40-10 s: graphics card problem

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G40 laptop 10s with a Nvidea 8600 M GT grafixs card. I was playing a game when it locked up and pasted what I would describe as flashing red/green 'Matrixy' search screen.

He then a blue screen and trys to reeboot.
He tries to start windows, but once again the top matrix. If it loads to the top, it is in 16 bit color with red dots all over the screen.

I am sure that the GPU is fried... and I was wondering what I can do? It's been 5 months out of warranty now.

I read on some forums that there have been a lot of problems with this Nvidea card... Is there anything I can do outside my warranty period with what there is a possibly faulty card in it from the beginning.

It will cost a lot of money to get it repaired, but its too good a laptop to let go to waste.

    Any help is very appreciated.

    Hello

You also have these lines on an external monitor?
If so, there seems to be a graphics card problem and it must be replaced.

These overheating problems also occur if you use the nVidia display drivers directly. Toshiba drivers are pre-tested and don't overheat your system.

But I think you need professional help. You should contact an authorized service provider and talk to the technicians. They will help you! :)

  • Resolution is dependent on the video graphics card memory?

Resolution is dependent on the video graphics card memory? If that's true then how much resolution a 2 GB card can support? I mean on what map I'll be able to run a game like 'NFS RUN' on a resolution higher, if I have 2 cards with the same specifications but difference is 1 GB and 2 GB, I don't speak of GDDR3 128 bit NVDI GT 440. ?

Resolution is dependent on the GPU, and not on the installed memory. The memory will help the screen refresh more quickly, and video help in smoother race.

    According to the specs here:

    http://www.GeForce.com/hardware/desktop-GPUs/GeForce-gt-440-channel/specifications

You should be able to get a maximum digital resolution of 2560 x 1600 and an analog-resolution 2048 x 1536 (VGA). This assumes of course that your monitor will be very high. The highest card ira is limited by the capabilities of the monitor also.

Thus, the memory card more than video, that you, smooth graphics should work, but it will have no effect on the resolution.

  • Qosmio G40 - 10F - graphics card problem

I bought my laptop in 2007 and now have a problem with the video card 8600 m GT (vertical or horizontal lines show and get a message on the GPU).

After reading a few similar posts, I think I have to replace the motherboard, rather than just the graphics card.

My problem is that I don't know what motherboard I have or what I need to upgrade to.

Can someone help me, because I'd like to get this operational return.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Satellite L650D - 15K - graphics card problem

    Hello

I updated accidentally driver graphic card ATI Radeon 5650 on the laptop, and then during the games and video look, the computer became very slow, the CPU usage is average on 60%.

I uninstalled the latest driver, reinstalled the driver of my module provided on the Toshiba site (not the one on my computer, because I can not find where it is), but the problem remains, I don't know if the driver from the Web site is the same as on my laptop. It seems that there is some driver files that cannot always be deleted entirely. If I reinstall the whole system, I install and activate the software.

Can someone tell me what should I do now?

    Thank you.

Have you installed the latest driver ATI support page or the Toshiba download page?

I mean it is recommended to use the Toshiba drivers only. I can't say this but I've heard that installing the non-Toshiba drivers can change some important values in the GPU BIOS.

Of course, you can reinstall the recovery image and begin to use the laptop with factory again.
It will be interesting to know if everything will be like before again.

Back up all your important data, reinstalling the OS, test it and thanks for posting comments.

  • HP Envy 700-074 Graphics Card problem Windows 8

    Greetings,

    I recently bought the HP ENVY 700-074 (http://http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us & dlc = in & lang = to & lc = in & product = 5371495).

Initial setup went fine without any problem.  I replaced the power supply so that I could add the graphics card from my old computer.  The power supply and graphics card worked perfectly for my old computer.  Feeding is a BFG Tech GX 550 watt modular power supply series.  The graphics card, I have installed is the Nvidia 560ti.

The problem is that, when I start the computer, my screen goes to sleep (as there is no signal) until the login Windows 8 screen lights up. At this time, my screen lights up and it is normally.  However, if updates or restarts the computer, the screen turns off again and he returned sometimes when loading the desktop computer.  I tried to get into the BIOS to see if I could disable the onboard graphics, but I have been unable to access BIOS because I don't see anything on the screen during startup.  I removed the Nvidia card and returned to the use of the integrated graphics card and everything is back to normal.  I managed to enter the BIOS at the time here, but I don't see any possibility to disable the integrated graphics card or use the PCIe as main display (unless I missed something).

I also noticed that Windows 8 shows I have 2 screens installed when only 1 is installed physiclaly.  My HP (HP 2009 m) monitor is listed in Monitor 2 and I initially had to go through the windows to get my HP Monitor to display the entire desktop (as it origionally extended from the start, the desktop computer).  However, number of monitor 1 is listed as monitor of generic cards.  Thinking that the computer used the non-existent monitor like main display when starting, I deleted the generic monitor than to have to reinstall windows.  I also tried to disable, but the problem persists.

I guess that there is a conflict between the integrated graphics card and the Nvidia card.  However, I assumed that the edge will be disabled automatically after inserting a card into the PCIe slot as the integrated graphics card watch is no longer under device mananger.

    Hello:

Have you changed the settings of the BIOS 2 (required) before installing the video card no HP?

  • H8 - 1240t update graphic card problems

Before you start this is what I have:

    H8 - 1240t Desktop

    Intel Core i7 - 2600 k

    16GBs ram

The computer came with an AMD Radeon HD 7570 1 GB DDR3 graphics card which I have been recently trying to improve my dream of an EVGA Geforce GTX 780 / 3 gb GDDR5 SC ACX. I already upgraded my PSU from a 300w to a 750w power to manage the new graphics card. During the installation of this new graphics card the computer will start show him Press esc for boot menu screen and after a while, it will go to a black screen with a cursor. I put in the disk of driver installation accompanying the GTX 780 from the start. Now, I looked online and saw a lot of people who update their bios but I couldn't find really any help for a motherboard very FRIEND 7.09 Pegatron 2ad5. And the actual task of updating a bios seems daunting. Attracted me here to see if it was something I had to do or if there is something else I could try or should I give up on my dream to get the GTX 780 to work in my config. Thanks in advance to one that meets. =)

    Hello

Most of the 7xx manufactured NVIDIA video cards are active UEFI and your PC does not have the right level of BIOS.  Your PC needs to have a BIOS version 8 level.  If the BIOS of your PCs supported the UEFI mode and secure boot you have a different problem.

Looking for a different graphics card that requires no UEFI BIOS. You may be able to locate a Sapphire AMD graphics card that will work and be near the same level of performance. Glance at the series Sapphire R9which are not marked UEFI.

The 780 NVIDIA or any graphics card close in performance will eventually be GPU bound.  This means that the graphics card will not reach its full potential of your PC with the design of the processor and motherboard.

It came with Windows Xp and I did a clean install of Windows 7

I am able to use the monitor but... trying to activate standby or sleep mode setting screen... I get a message that I need a graphics card that supports 3D...

Through my research I found that a Radeon X 1300 card #400558 - 001that is supposed to solve this problem...

I was told that I need a PCI...

I find this advice to VisionTek... their customer service told me to make sure the motherboard is working with this...

This card will work?  and are there other boards out there that would work too?

    Thank you...

Lets start over which is an antique with limited options because he has only PCI slots and not normal video card.  He has the card, you ask about "high definition 3D Performance & quality of the Image on your PC" If you plan to get one, try the EBay marketplace because it's really old hardware and you can get one for almost nothing.  For example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Visiontek-Radeon-X1300-Graphics-Card-256MB-128bit-900106-/191175474229

Just make sure one ordered is the PCI version.

There are other possible choices: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187213

  • HP Pavilion p6623w video Graphics Card Question.

With the HP Pavilion p6623w, it has an integrated ATI graphics built in. I recently bought a Zotac GeForce gtx 550 ti AMP! Video card and I wanted to install it in the HP System. Unfortunately since I installed it, I had many problems to make same ot games starts. Star Wars: The Old Republic opens the menu and when I click on 'play' it black screens and closed auto itself. The same question comes with League of legends and any demo that I download.

I've updated the drivers as well as other updates that I did to my PC and still no luck, so I'm stuck. I guess it could be my integrated video card?

I can't seem to find a way to disable and exactly how would I have done that?

Please and thanks for the help!

Here are the specifications of your HP p6623w desktop and here are the specs of the ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 550 AMP Ti ! Edition graphics card, you are having problems with. According to the specifications of your computer, your system came with a 250 watt power supply. According to the specifications of the Zotac GTX 550 Ti, it requires a minimum system + 400 watts of power. Unless you have installed a new more powerful PSU, this card will try to draw more power than the PSU will provide.

With regard to the integrated... video card BIOS automatically disables it when it detects a card into the PCIe x 16 slot.

  • AMD Radeon R7 E460 graphics card problem

    Hello

I bought a new Lenovo E460 Full HD with the graphics card AMD Radeon R7 M360 inside. I also asked a + 4 GB of ram, so I now have 8 GB. My problem is that I constantly freezes when I use a video editing software and 3d. It's a regular shift, like every few seconds. 1.2.3.. gel 1.2.3.freeze etc. I also tried to change a lower quality in the software properties, but nothing changes. If this happens when I use the AMD Radeon graphics card. When I use the graphics Intel HD 520, AMD drivers uninstalled or just fashionable, the problem disappears energy saving. I tried with AMD drivers Lenovo site, also the site of AMD, I tried to update the drivers for Windows 10 too, the problem persists. GPU - Z, I installed and I saw that the bus PCIe 4 x all the time when graphics software is used instead of x 8 supported. I don't know if this is normal. This is a brand new laptop (2 weeks) and I can't do my job on a daily basis like this. Help, please!

  • HP Envy 14 graphics card problem

Well the problem I have is that my laptop screen went crazy. It shows a lot of random things on the screen. Even just after the start and not even load Windows. Initially, he used to do this only when I played the games. Then it kept actually worse, and I kept getting a message saying that my graphics card has recovered from a mistake. Really have no idea what is happening. A variation of this is what I see after I turn on the laptop.

  • S Dual of the HP 4530 graphics card problem

    Hi guys!

So here's the deal. I bought my laptop HP 4530 s 5 months ago and it was working fine until I started to play games. Since it has dual graphics (Intel HD 3000 and AMD Radeon HD series 7400 M) he only reads integrated graphics card (which is an Intel) and no AMD, I tried to download and install the drivers for the graphics card, AMD and it says 'unknown material', but I know it's there because the pilots were showing that I have dual graphics card , but since I have recently updated from Windows 7 to Windows 8 this problem has happened and I don't know how to solve this problem, Please HELP!

Please see the HP ProBook 4530 s Notebook PC - Driver and software downloads page of Windows 8 drivers for your computer. If you downloaded the drivers from AMD, these will not work because the drivers are customized by HP to support switchable graphics function. Install the provided HP AMD Video Driver and control panel Windows 8 should solve your problems.
