HP media center m7580n power units

is power in this computer, hp m7580n Center media, it is proprieitary... or can I install a regular atx PSU in it?

Ronss, no, it's not owner.  The best way to know if the standard ATX PSU will fit is to measure the existing PSU.  Find a new power supply that you like and that you access the manufacturer's Web site to compare the measures.

Would what power you buy?

Here are two brands of high quality who will do a good job:

I had the GXS OCZ 600W in my computer until I upgraded.  It's a great PSU.

I have an old HP Pavilion m7580n Media Center, provided with Windows XP - I put it to update to Vista Ultimate (64-bit). I wish she were bacek to a very basic Windows OS XP, any suggestions? Do you think I can buy a new XP license, or can I use my product key for XP? I can't find any Revoery disc. ANY help would be appreicated - thank you.

    You are the very welcome.

You should have no problem with that, and your PC will run probably better, because a 64-bit operating system requires more memory and disk space to run a 32 bit OS only.

Given that your PC can take up to 4 GB of memory, there is no advantage to run an operating system to 64-bit on it.

  • I got a new computer and media center tv quality units is not good

I just got a brand new computer and I have a tv tuner that I used on my computer spent and now the quality is not good. It is very grainy. I use the same screen and everything.

    Hi Mikey,

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

As I understand it the quality is not good, when viewing the Media Center TV. Before we begin, I have to ask you a few questions.

You have installed the drivers for the TV tuner on the new computer?

You can also start the computer in a clean boot State, and check if all third-party software can be the cause of the problem.

Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 3, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.

You can also visit the manufacturer of TV tuner for all of the updated drivers and install the same.

Hope this information is helpful and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help you.

  • HP media center m8200n pc units

I don't know if the Upgrade Advisor can really help me.  I have a m8200n and it is runnin vista Home premium.  Currently, it works very well for me and I'm not really bothered that much by vista.  I don't want to risk an upgrade and have problems.  I prefer to do a clean install on a new drive sata hard...  As I try to run ideally as a 64-bit system.   Is it possible that I can know for sure if I fail to do that?  Cost me $199 at least for an OEM version of Windows 7 Professional over at least $100 for a decent 1 TB SATA HDD... $300 to be a Guinea pig is a lot of money when I could buy a whole new machine starting around this price?  What is your opinion on the m8200n?  I like to use the remote control that comes with it to control Windows Media Center to record...  Help?

Remote control works with the home edition Premium, professional, full and business editions of Windows 7. This is because Media Center is included only in these 4 versions of Windows 7.

Ronss, here are the pages of the 'product details' for the computer.  You can use up to an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 5000 + (2.66).  The Council is a Micro-ATX (9.6 x 9.6 ").  The holes in the Board of Directors must match the spacers on the case.  All motherboards to ebay have the same part number.  However, if you look at the diagram of the Board of Directors on the computer, it does not match all the pictures on ebay.  One of the sides to the bottom of the replacement motherboard is the software that came with the computer will no longer work.  HP tattoos the mobo.

This card looks like an exact match.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

  • "No data available" Media Center Guide

4 February 20114 Hi, I'm in London, I have two machines Vista Home Premium and a Windows 7 computer. I use a tuner TV USB Hauppauge on each of them. Everything worked well until the middle of December 2013. After updating the Guide two Vista machines now show "No data available" for some of the channels including BBC1, ITV, channel 5 and many others. I can receive the channels but not see their guide ads. The EPG Hauppauge also works fine on Vista machines. The Windows 7 machine is not affected and displays complete information.

I see this fault happened in January 2013, and it was a result of Microsoft to not renew their contract with Red Bee. I visited Red Bee (they are close to me) but they don't know about this topic and say that they do not have a contract for the end user of Microsoft verification.

I have tried everything I can think of including Windows Vista Factory reload, change of postal code, change the transmitter and c and nothing seems to work. I lost days trying to find an answer to this, and he sends me nuts!.

Please someone knows how to fix this?

    Thank you

I have a hauppauge tuner card 1850. I live in the Canada. If I've set up media center with the Canada as my position the digital tuner is not recognized as compatible in my area. If I place the library with my position defined in the United States. The digital tuner is recognized and works very well. The downside is that I can not guide ads for my actual surface when I set the location in media center in the United States.

  • Cannot connect to media center netflix plugin

When I click on the logo of netflix in media center, I'm redirected to the login page.  After entering my credentials, I get this error message: "there is a problem with your account. Please sign in again"(blue media center error box units).  I checked if I use incorrect credentials can I just get an invalid account information entered (under the password box looks like plugin error message) so I know it's access netflix at least for auth credential.

I deleted history and cache in my IE browser.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin from netflix.
This problem just started, I use the plugin without any problems and as recently as yesterday.
    Windows 7 x 64 personal

Yes, I checked and the /lists API call that retrieves the categories of movies you like to watch now works.  No doubt on the end of Netflix.  If this happens again, we will need to complain that one or more of their developer API calls does not work (and try not to mention the netflix plugin) for their customer support think they get an automatic brush shut off when a customer mentions it.

Same time that this problem has been corrected, I found a work around involving fake call lists; This enabled the plugin works.  It is unfortunate that the plugin is not designed to handle certain non-critical service a bit more graciously calls and give us a message giving the possibility to ask for the plugin to try anyway, limping along.  If this happens again, I'll post workaround for anyone interested.

  • m1070n media center power problem

I am running XP Pro on an HP m1070n media center & is no longer powers upward. I checked the power supply & it tests OK. I noticed that when I plug the cable of 12 volt 4-pin on the motherboard that the power supply light turns off and stays off. If I let the 12-volt cable disconnected and the power led remains lit on the back of the computer. What is a bad mother or some other hardware problem? I've changed most of the things inside a computer, but never a motherboard. I have thousands of photos of family on this computer & must try & recover. Should I consider the delivery back to HP for service (which I think would be very costly), or it would be easy enough to simply buy a new computer & recover photos to a new system (for example, Windows 7)?    Thanks for reading this.

Given the age of this 'July 5, 2004', I wouldn't recommend giving it at the service of HP.  It will not be worth the cost.  If "thousands of family photos on this computer" are on the hard drive, then who can be saved.  The issue "it would be easy enough to simply buy a new computer & recover photos to a new system (for example, Windows 7)?   Yes I can't answer for Windows 8, but I guess it's just as easy.  Just get a these: http://www.amazon.com/Drive-Adapter-Converter-Optical-External/dp/B001OORMVQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1359482606&sr=8-3&keywords=USB+3.5+hard+drive+adapter

or something similar.  Remove the hard drive from the old computer, cannot connect to the newly purchased, adapter plug plug USB and copy the images on the new computer or DVD, or an external hard drive.

BTW: I would like to make an extra backup of all the photos on a regular basis to other media of your choice of future protection

I went in the TV section and downloaded the settings of 5 MB, but it says the guide is not available and the icons are always for shows in the United States.

I remember when I tried to get the skyplayer to work, I got as far as the discovery that this Media Center wouldn't recognize my location.

  • Power went off looking at the TV Media Center. Now whenever I try to watch live TV, the program starts normally but freezes as soon as the audio starts.

Original title: Media Center 2005 Edition

I was watching TV using Media Center on my PC HP Media Center m7367c PC (running Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3) when the power went off.   Now whenever I try to watch live TV, the program starts normally but freezes as soon as the audio starts.  The audio works fine, but no picture, the small rotating circle of progress hangs and the screen is frozen.  I can click the X (close Box) and the program closes.   I expect there are only one or two corrupt files that need to be cleaned or replaced.

HP support is to use recovery discs to clear the system and return it to the original configuration.   Given all the software, data and updates, I have to restore, I don't want to go down this road.

I tried running SFC/scannow but Windows XP system discs are needed and the PC vendors ceased to provide systems with their PC discs there are many moons.  I bought Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3, but he came on one drive and requests SFC disk #3 while parsing.

I go back to the original driver TV tuner and then updated to the more recent but not joy.  I think that the problem is with a program or file Media Center.  Now when I try to configure the TV signal my cable box is recognized and then as soon as the audio lights, MCE 2005 hangs and the tiny TV screen remains black.

I expect a file Media Center must be cleaned or reset but before I realize FUBAR I thought that he better come on this Microsoft forum and see if someone who knows what they are doing can provide the solution.

    Hi, Rudy386MS,

Sorry for the late reply.  Do you have the problem solved?

If Sfc/scannow solicits the disks, then you have corrupt or missing files whose analysis cannot replace or repair.  The alternative is a complete recovery of Windows.

Open the control panel and select Media Center

    Click on uninstall

    Select the repair option

    Click next

Click Finish when you are prompted

See if that helps.  If not, then the recovery process will be needed

Startup of HP systems to screen recovery (repair) when you reboot and start typing the F11 key.  According to me, that it gives you the choice to 'Fix' that leaves your files intact or 'Recover' system that will put you back to 'out of the box' condition.

There is a Recovery Manager in the folder all the HP programs which includes Disc Creator.  You can create your own recovery discs.  I suggest using DVD instead of CD - R.  They allow more memory space.
